A man wanted in connection with the murder of a mother in central Florida that set off a an Amber Alert was taken into custody in the Florida Keys Wednesday, authorities said.

Florida Department of Law Enforcement officials issued the alert for 11-month-old Jhene Clark, saying that she was taken from her home in Ocala in Marion County.

WESH-TV reported that the child's mother, Kiara Alleyne, was found dead when police entered their home.

The alert was canceled after it was discovered that the child had been dropped off with family members, the station reported.

The man wanted in the killing of Alleyne, 30-year-old Deangelo Leandrew Shelton Clark, was found later Wednesday in the Florida Keys.

According to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, authorities received a call of a burglary at a home on Long Key. A short time later, a car being driven by Clark was found engulfed in flames outside a home on Grassy Key.

A 911 caller told deputies that Clark was screaming that his car blew up and he had been burned, officials said.

Clark, who was also identified as a suspect in the Keys burglary, was airlifted to a hospital in Miami with burns to his arms.

The state fire marshal is investigating the fire, and Clark will be served with a warrant out of Marion County for the murder of Alleyne, officials said.
Suspect in Murder, Amber Alert Arrested in Florida Keys

Deangelo Leandrew Shelton Clark, 30, was found in Monroe County. He is accused of killing Kiara Alleyne, the 20-year-old mother of an 11-month-old girl who was allegedly taken by Clark on Wednesday, but was later found safe, according to the Marion County Sheriff's Office.

The Marion County Sheriff's Office stated that a family member was worried about Alleyne and once deputies arrived in a home in Anthony, Fla., they found her dead, but her daughter and Clark were gone, which provoked the Amber Alert.

However, the girl was found with a family member, but Clark's capture was a "bizarre series of events," stated the Monroe County Sheriff's Office in a Facebook post.

The Sheriff's Office received a burglary call at around 10 a.m. at a home on 69401 Overseas Highway on Long Key, where Clark allegedly left the home with "some unknown items."

At this time, deputies did not know that the burglary suspect and Clark were the same person, but another 911 call came in from Edgewater Road on Grassy Key, where "the reporting person stated a man was screaming that his car blew up and that he was burnt," confirmed the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.

A final 911 call came in about a SUV — a Mazda CX7 that Clark was reported to have been driving in the Amber Alert — at a house on Overseas Highway.

That SUV was immersed in flames and the house was also on fire.

Clark suffered serious burns to his arms and the Marathon Fire Rescue took him to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office Aviation Unit hanger at the Florida Keys Marathon International Airport, where he was airlifted to Miami for treatment.

Deputies determined that the burglary suspect and Clark were the same person.

A detective with the Monroe County Sheriff's Office served Clark with a warrant for murder of Alleyne, stated authorities.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) said the body of 20-year-old Kiara Alleyne, originally from Point Fortin, was discovered by detectives who were following up on a call for service from a family member concerned for her well‐being.

Deputies said they received information that a 30-year-old man had threatened to kill Alleyne and then himself.

What a beautiful young lady who won't be around to watch her baby grow. I hope the baby is with her family, not his.

This has to be one of the dumbest criminals - robbing a house and torching your vehicle on a small island in the Florida keys, where everyone knows everyone, the population is about a 1,000 and the land mass is about 4 miles. Nothing like calling attention to yourself.

Love how you always tell it like it is. Much appreciated.
