Just a thought, why wouldn’t they fight extradition until they could determine a location outside of JAX County jurisdiction. Attorney said if he remained the attorney he would ask for change of venue for trial (if it gets to that) as there is a conflict due to LM Dad position as CO in that county. MOO

IANAL, but my understanding is that he will eventually be returned to Duval Co. Change of venue won't be an issue until trial. moo

I wonder if he was on anti-depressants. There are people who have committed suicide and killed while on these. They can make a balanced mind unbalanced. Also this kid was in a new school which is very hard at that age, his mom has a new young family and husband and is far from him and his dad has his girlfriend. He has no structure plus the parents are fighting. Recipe for disaster.

Posted upthread is a link to his attorney stating Logan was only on diabetes meds and no others. I'm typing fast before going out or I'd look for it.

And also, how does parental alienation play into Logan murdering his grandmother? I'm behind so apologies if that's been answered.

Ugh.

Yes, msm tweets are always okay to post. And adding what's going on? What could be back at dad's house that interests LE?

The body of 53-year-old Kristina French was wrapped in plastic and tape when it was found late last week buried in a shallow grave in the yard of a home where Logan Mott lived with his father, according to documents obtained by the I-TEAM.

This is great news actually because his fingerprints could be all over that plastic and tape!
I wonder if he stabbed her as she slept and then shot her to make sure she was dead.

It's all so horrible to think that a 15 year old is capable of such a violent crime against his own family.
I also wonder if since Grandma was the paternal grandparent if she was "always siding with Dad" and mom was not too fond of her. In some divorces, sometimes family members really get pitted against each other.
I am not 100% convinced that Logan and his grandmother had a warm and fuzzy relationship. By that I don't necessarily wonder how he could do this to the grandma whom he loved and who loved him so, because I am skeptical that he was all that enamored with her. I bet he saw her as "on Dad's side and keeping me from being with mom and being able to do my own thing

all my opinion

I believe his lawyer stated he was on no medicine except his diabetes medicine.
Sounds like he probably should have been. My opinion only.

Thanks Midge

In an earlier news report, it was stated that the only medication Logan was on was insulin. Unless he was using illicit drugs that no one else was aware of.

Thanks Ray!

I just read on Action News Jax that investigators are back at dad's house now. I wonder why.

Ugh.

I think parental alienation, IMO is the main cause of all of this. A teen that age needs his mother to talk to which I found that with my 3 sons and the girls as my daughter did usually go to the father. This whole family dynamics he had to put up with plus a new school I believe threw him off the edge.

From what I've observed over the years from children whose parents are constantly in custody battles, the majority come away feeling like neither of the parents care about them. A lot of them also learned to manipulate their parents to get their way, even if they had to be dishonest to do it. I'm not saying all are like that but children learn what they live.

Where did he kill her? From the 911 call dad doesn’t seem to have come across blood. Or did LM clean up?

Just some notes I took... Feel free to make corrections.
2 of the 3 guns were his dad's guns from work.
He was found with one recently fired gun, 2 other guns and a bloody knife.

3 previous police calls:

*12/1/14 - to assist another agency
12/22/14 & 2/26/16 - property checks (to check on Logan Mott, a 'source says')
I'd so love to know more about these checks. Who called, what was the complaint, what was the result of the visit? Since he's a minor, we likely won't see these reports, right?

* To assist DCF. Mom filed report, LE assisted DCF, no further action.
There was also another DCF complaint, filed by someone at school, didn't get date, sorry

His lawyer says there are 'dozens' of alternative theories.
I, personally can't come up with dozens, but maybe that's why I am not a defense lawyer.
At this point, I am struggling to come up with even a few that I can't poke my own holes in. Sigh.

And now I understand why they might fight extradition.
"It gives the defense more time to think about how they want to handle the case," Flynn said after Wednesday morning's hearing. "It will obviously delay the proceedings in Florida because, if the young man is returned to Florida within 10 days, they'll arraign him down there, put him before the grand jury down there and the case will be moving forward in Florida. If you keep him up here for 60 days, that will delay the trial in Florida by two months."

I wonder if they are looking for clothing that may have evidence on it?

If Logan and his dad were at odds, maybe Logan thought killing Kristina was the only way to hurt his dad.

Think about this, too...Logan wanted to go live with his mom, and dad was preventing it...so Logan has now prevented Dad from being with his mom, too.
That makes a lot of sense.
