Is this the first or second body they've found during the search for this child?

Spent this afternoon getting caught up on this horrendous case. Deliberately put off opening the thread all weekend. Sad and disgusted right now.

Second (third if you count the first one which turned out to be a hooved animal they though was a human at first). I have seen cases where one body has turned up, but I do not remember seeing two.

I will never be able to look at a retention pond the same way again. Ever. I cannot believe a car was there that long and no one noticed. I didn't realize these ponds were that deep.

While Lonzie remains missing, and that's a tragedy, two families will get closure. They'll find out what happened to their loved ones. Hope they find Lonzie soon.

When LE says that he is steering them away from finding Lonzie, it makes me think he parked the car far from where he dumped Lonzie and close enough for him to walk back home. JMO

Agree with you, Matou, for the reason you stated and because of the specific areas near where car was found. The last place I would try to hide a body is near San Jose Boulevard.

I know I've missed some posts, but I haven't read any that describe the area as I think of it.
There is a striking dichotomy between Old Kings Road (Ravenswood) and San Jose Boulevard (2 blocks west of where the car was found).

San Jose Blvd. is a long tree-lined road (4 lanes in the area of car dump). following the St. John's River (mostly 1-8 blocks off the river) as the river runs south of the city. The most expensive real estate in Jacksonville is along the east and west banks of the river south of the city. Riverfront homes here are often more expensive than oceanfront properties in Jacksonville Beach and Ponte Vedra.

Slightly to the north of where the car was found are the San Country Club (in top 2 of city's clubs) and the Bolles School (in top 2 in state, Jeb Bush's son boarded there). The residential areas near San Jose Blvd are mostly quite nice and it's considered a very safe, desirable area.
People get outdoors and walk and jog along San Jose Blvd. In most areas near San Jose, strangers would be noticed and probably caught on security tapes.

Old Kings Road is a few blocks east of San Jose and runs near railroad tracks. It is a high density area that has a lot of declining multi-family units. Because of the density and later hours of a lot of young people living there, I don't think you could count on being unseen.

On a different topic, I am confused why some think LE knows who WE spoke by phone to that day/night. I thought that throw-away phones are common among drug users/sellers and prevent LE from tracking who owns the phone. Is that the case or can LE now identify owners of throw-away phones?

I think two bodies were found in the search for Elena in UT as well? I'm flabbergasted.

ETA: I mean, two bodies other than the one they were looking for.

Also 11 were found in the search for Shannon Gilbert.

I personally believe LE can track burner phones-moving backwards-cell phone towers and hits-all the way back to purchase of same.

I agree that the location of the car figures pretty heavily into this case. Do you remember that a witness said the car was parked right in front of his house from afternoon until it was getting dark, then it wasn't right in front of his house when his son got home at 10:30.

It was found 50 feet up the street by police on Friday morning.

I wonder what time it was getting dark. Where did he go from the time it was getting dark until he brought it back and parked it 50 feet up the road?

From post #390: http://www.news4jax.com/news/police-...theft/34330746

John Fleming, who lives about a mile away from the complex, said he saw the car in front of his home yesterday afternoon before it started raining, but he said the car was gone by the time his son came home at 10:30 p.m. Thursday. He said he'd never seen the car in the area before.

"It started getting dark, and that car was out in front of my house, and we didn't think anything about it," Fleming said. "We thought it might have been one of the neighbors."

The Honda Civic was found by police abandoned in that same area on Cesperdes Avenue Friday morning, about 50 feet from where Fleming said he saw it the day before."

I think so too. But, they need to know the burner number or have the phone to do that. In this case, they have the info. But if a criminal used a burner phone the LE didn't know about it, I think it is "traceless."

Did I hear in today's noon briefing they're was 2 cell phones?

Also I have seen Ebron other 2 children from previous relationship and they are beautiful also. Wonder what he would do if this was one of those children? He should put himself in Lonzie's family place. How would he like if it were one of his own blood out there rotting in this heat? Or would he even care?

Thank you! And thank you QueenD too. I think I got the right place now. Lonzie Barton Case Map

I love your maps! If you have a few minutes later could you make a cell tower map? It appears the search is following a pattern of what I think is the cell ping data. I think it might be helpful to see the actual coverage areas for the towers in the areas of their search.
