Why is it a murder investigation now?

Is it the amount of time Lonzie has been missing? Yes (but seems like there are other reasons too IMO)

MOO it probably was a murder investigation from the first moment Ebron came up with the unlikely story.

ITA. My post isn't my own question. It was a reporter asking this after the presser. She offered her own answer of it being the 5 days he has been missing and the chief hesitated and said yes and wanted to say something else but did not.

Post# 77 contains a link to a search warrant which details the tracking of burner phones. It is quite interesting. If one buys a burner phone to hide criminal activity/relationships/one must not have a link on their personal cellie to that burner.

Anyway Inthedetails........I hear you. I think the tech world is getting smaller and that LE is getting smarter.

I don't know what else to say so Find Lonzie :please:

I just hope he didn't rape the baby or the little girl. Had to say it.

Right? its just so sad. At least there are a lot of highly trained peope out there looking for him.

I just hope he didn't rape the baby or the little girl. Had to say it.

I mean, I guess you never know, but he doesn't strike me as a pedophile. I do think that if there was evidence that he harmed Lonzie's sister then Hackney (lead detective) would have killed WRE with his own bare hands. He does not play and you can tell he hates this perp... a lot.

I think Lonzie had an accident or was crying and wouldn't stop (or somehow otherwise interupted WRE's 'business dealings) and he killed him in a fit of rage then panicked. I think that he went to get the clothes from the laundromat and disposed of the body. He then drove around, put on his Mensa hat (sarcasm) and came up with the car jacking story. That is my working theory right now, but I could be very wrong. I know we aren't privy to everything and I'm not sure if that works with the time line, but it is my thinking at the moment. JMO IMO.

I have been so busy today with work that I just now got caught up on the thread here.

SIGH

As much as I would love for little Lonzie to be found alive I know it is not going to be that way. I was at least hoping that they had found his little body and his family and those of us who have fallen in love with him over the past few days could get some closure in knowing that justice will be served.

Also, wow! 2 different bodies have been found in this search. I'm glad those families are going to be able to get the closure they have been needing. I, too, was one of those hoping it was little Haleigh they had found. :(

I haven't listened to the noon presser yet but I am still uneasy with the fact that we do not have anyone else mentioning that they had seen Lonzie or his sister that first day. I'm also wondering if JSO is keeping the mom close for more reasons then they believe what she is saying? I'm not trying to bash her, but it was just a thought I had.

About the comment "being thrown out like garbage", I had the feeling yesterday when I first heard that, that JSO believed Lonzie to be deceased but they just hadn't got the right tip in yet of where to find him!

This breaks my heart. :(

His hate of WRE is palpable. Do not remember which day (maybe Sunday) when they were still holding the pressers at the site, the veins on his temples were throbbing when asked a question about speaking with him and trying to get answers. Hackney is awesome and he has the weight of this child on him right now.

Search for toddler turns up car, remains in pond

Police divers searching a pond off Bowden Road near Interstate 95 late Tuesday morning as part of the effort to find 21-month-old Lonzie Barton found a submerged Mazda RX-7 with human remains inside.

"Anytime we find something like this, we proceed as if there was foul play involved," Sgt. Craig Waldrup said. "It doesn't appear to be, at first sight, but we don't rule it out.

While police indicated it will take the to positively identify the remains, the pond is just over one mile from where a 28-year-old U.S. Navy sailor who disappeared on Jan. 31, 2003, was last seen.

Aviation Machinist’s Mate 3rd Class Yaroslav Iventyev was driving a Maxda RX-7 when he left Russian Moscow Nights restaurant, just off University Boulevard South, after having dinner with friends. He was reported missing when he didn't show up for work the next day at NAS Jacksonville.

There is a movement of sorts in Houston Texas to search Bayous for underwater cars-this case reminds me of that. Worthwhile expenditure I think. Too many missing people. I know it costs a lot of money for that.

I feel like this guy was probably pretty charming when he wanted to be. Like, he doesn't let everyone see his bad side, and he's obviously very manipulative. Ugh.

I also think that stopping the garbage collection is a pretty big deal. These police mean business. But they also aren't expecting a positive outcome. JMO

I don't know how long this guy has been on drugs but they do crazy things to your personality. Maybe he wasn't as hard into drugs back then. Maybe these people who say he's a good person and wouldn't harm a child hasn't seen him In a few years. Like a neighbor from the trailer park, how long has it been since they were neighbors? Did she ever have any real interaction with him? Just waving at your neighbor as you are walking the dog.... Doesn't really qualify as knowing a person.

So sad; I think LE is doing all they can, but with the increasing request for more searchers and begging for tips, I am no longer hopeful that they have any ideas. JMO Sorry, feeling very pessimistic today. It's been 5 days of intense heat. Just what WRE has been hoping for...

Charges piling up- a no-show at a court appearance-increased drug activity-patience running thin-panic building up- a 20 month old crying and distracting. He lost it and Lonzie suffered for it.

It's to no benefit of WRE's for him to lead LE to little Lonzie. No body and he can stick to the stupid story of carjacking. And sociopaths have no heart, appeals to be a decent 'man' and do the right thing just won't work with sociopaths. He's hoping that if a body is found that there will be so much decomp that no one will know COD unless there are broken bones or knife marks on bones or whatever. The window for a good and just case against WRE is closing rapidly. There will be too much room for smokescreens ala Baez... Feeling so sad and angry. Someone please convince me I'm wrong.

From today's noon presser...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HbU9HteqCNU&feature=youtu.be

Not a word for word quote as I am not the fastest typer, but...

Chief Hackney says, we can get an idea of where he has been. If during that window, not interested in from before, but that period of time, you saw the Orange Honda with a black hood, with him driving it I would like to hear from you.

That makes me wonder if from video surveillance they have seen him with Lonzie and Lonzie was alive, but then lose WRE's movements for that two hour time period (give or take) and then no more video surveillance of Lonzie could be found or seen.

Just thinking out loud again. Also, if I could hug someone through my computer screen, I would give Chief Hackney a big one! I really like him and his dedication to finding Lonzie.
