Today would have been Lori Paige’s 14th birthday. Nearly two years after being reported missing, her remains were found last week in a rural area of Thomas County, GA.

• Summer 2023 to early 2024 - Detectives pursue hundreds of leads across state lines. Lori is never located, and the story provided by Wiley begins to show inconsistencies.
• February 2, 2024 - A phone is seized from Wiley's residence. A forensic analysis uncovers questionable internet searches about remote areas with bodies of water in Alabama and Georgia among other things.
• March 2024 - As more inconsistencies in Wiley's statements are identified and new information about his relationship with Lori emerges, detectives shift their focus more heavily toward Wiley.
• Early 2024 - Based on digital evidence, detectives begin searching a remote, brush-covered area of Thomas County, Georgia, known locally as a plantation. Multiple searches are conducted but yield no results.
• April 5, 2025 - Following a prescribed burn that cleared heavy brush in the area, detectives return to the plantation for another search. This time, they locate human remains.
• April 2025 - The remains are processed by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and positively identified as those of Lori Paige.

Fla. Child's Father Charged with Her Murder 2 Years After Reporting Her Missing: Police

Nearly two years after reporting his 12-year-old daughter Lori Paige missing in Florida, Andrew Wiley, 36, has been arrested on charges of second-degree murder in connection with the death, the Tallahassee Police Department announced on Friday, March 11.

Her remains were ultimately found in "a remote, brush-covered area of Thomas County, Georgia, known locally as a plantation" on April 5, after digital evidence led investigators to the area.

"Multiple searches" of the area in "early 2024" yielded no findings until it underwent a "prescribed burn that cleared heavy brush," police said in their statement.

Wiley became the focus of the investigation in March 2024, after police identified "more inconsistencies" in his statements and "new information about his relationship with Lori" emerged.

This case reminds me of the more recent disappearance of Keimani Latigue. She was a 13 year old also found deceased and her dad arrested in her death as well. It's sad that Lori couldn't be brought home as quickly as Keimani was, but at least both girls' remains are now found and they can be laid to rest, forever free of the harm they experienced here on earth. Rest in peace, Lori, and Keimani, and all the others. I hate cases like this. May justice be swift for these victims.

The motive is sickening. That poor child.

A preliminary report from the medical examiner revealed that Wiley died of natural causes resulting from a pulmonary embolism, per the sheriff’s office.

During an interview with the state attorney Monday, he revealed that evidence indicates Wiley murdered his daughter after sexually assaulting and possibly impregnating her.

Specifically, court papers indicated, “evidence of Wiley’s purchases leading up to the murder of Paige suggests there was likely abuse of Paige occurring, which may have been of a sexual nature.”

Campbell also went on to say he believes the 36-year-old father acted alone, based on the evidence provided so far.

It’s possible that Paige’s death was premeditated once her father realized he could not cover up the sexual assault, according to Campbell.

Campbell also suggests that it’s possible Wiley and Paige had an altercation, making it more likely to be a crime of passion. Prosecutors were unlikely to pursue the death penalty due to insufficient evidence of premeditation.

He said there is no way to know for certain what Paige’s “final hours“ were like.

New youth support center to open in Northwest Tallahassee, in honor of Lori Paige

Sisters Mentoring Sisters is expanding to open a new support and residential facility for young girls, in memory of 12-year-old Lori Paige. The goal is to bridge gaps and offer wrap around services.

Sisters Mentoring Sisters: the Lori Paige Center — that's the name of a new center currently under construction following the death of a 12-year-old Griffin Heights neighbor.

"Every time you go by here, you're going to remember Lori Page and what happened, and that maybe will wake our community up to see that our kids need us," said Stephanie Tolbert, who runs Sisters Mentoring Sisters.

Tolbert said the group will be transitioning from an after-school club to a space that girls can come to 24/7, adding it's all about letting the younger generation know that help is here.
