Yes @girlhasnoname ^^^ so sad and true.

And the shocking thing IMO, I have a difficult time thinking that during at least one time together between the three of them (i.e. JS, SS, and MS)* - just once - even if for 5 minutes….. that something wasn’t awkward….. maybe some uncomfortable conversation or glance or something? Or that some unusual interaction didn’t occur which caused someone - other than MS - to say wait a minute, what is going on here? I am trying hard to believe nothing in 6 or 7 years? After all that time nothing? SMH
Right, so what would prompt her to say to him ' My biggest fear is that I will be in a woody Allan situation, and you cannot do that to me"
My biggest fear is my parachute wouldnt open if I went skydiving, but I likely wouldnt even bring it up unless I was about to jump.

Rayne Perrywinkle was never prosecuted for her role in handing her daughter over to pedophile and sex offender, Donald Smith, she met at the Dollar General one day. She failed as a mother because her priorities were everything but that daughter. Rayne didn't know who or what Donald was when she did so. She didn't plan on her daughter's rape and murder or participate in it. Her priorities were skewed. She saw the dollar signs Smith waved before her.

I feel similarly about JS. Even if she had no conscious awareness of the ongoing SA of her daughter, her self absorbed choices were a contributing factor and continued to place her daughter at risk, over the course of years. She may not be held legally culpable. But I find her culpable. MOO

oh come on folks!.....if JS has been duped because she is thick as whipped cream - it's still her fault!.....as a mother and adult, it's her responsibility to get educated and wise enough
I agree it's like sending a small child into the water without a life jacket, some things you just should know.

That comment among many others convinced me she knew. She allowed her daughter to sleep with a grown man.

Her biggest fear is that SS would LEAVE her.
There were plans for him to move back after he moved with his parents. And what does JS do when SS comes to visit?? Allow them full privacy!!

Maddie kept SS around, and JS knew it. She was not jealous of the S stuff, because she did not want to do some of it.

And detectives did not fall for her lies. All IMO.

When she said that comment, I couldn't understand if she said that SS or to MS. It sounded directed at MS IMO - like you can't take my man.

I'll find the clip but I believe it was to SS

As a housewife myself, I should have had thought of it much earlier: WHO washed the bedsheets and cushion covers and things like that, from JS' bed or the room#4-bed for years in the past?? It was JS, afaik, and she had to be completely blind, if she didn't notice traces of "something" every now and again. Unless SS covered the beds (JS' or #4) with rubber mats or similar, what must have been also rather suspect. Where did he store these things and who cleaned them, if he used such material?

I am convinced, JS knew. I can't imagine otherwise. MOO

I agree 100%. They both act like idiots, but they are both cunning.
She should be where he is.

YES...."cunning" was the exact word I have for JS. Every once in a while her "poor me" mask drops. Detectives who have seen it all saw it, too. SS too. Sleep all day, take drugs, dont work, and weird S.
Take money from parents. A man child supported by his parents, and JS supported by the government handouts.

And to think SS worked a couple months for Disney...ugh.

This was so satisfying to watch! Oh my gosh, did he look like he was totally humiliated and thinking he was a victim? Guys like him don’t deserve black rectangles either.

For a guy that was ashamed of his bod and wouldn’t go to the beach, this was some well deserved justice. OMO.
Funny how he’s not so tired anymore at the end.

I mean think about it, her biggest fear is that ss would run off like WA did, and why would she think that> what does she see or hear that makes her have that fear ? (is it an irrational fear, as in no reason for it , IDTS) ). she doesnt fear whats happening , she fears the outcome, and that is JMO.

I pray she does not get immunity! And I dont think SS's parents want SS to get all of the blame. So they might convince him to out JS's role.

Weird how SS's mother still treats him like a child.

Seems like there’s no safe places anymore.

Some parents don’t think about the consequences that can result when they enable others.

Failure to Launch at its worst IMO. They've probably coddled and babied him his whole life, made excuses, looked the other way, failed to make SS take accountability for anything.

JMO

That Woody Allen comment if true was her maternal instinct telling her this wasn't ok. And she ignored it, or pretended to.

They aren't stupid, they are thinking like every other, but they have other priorities. MOO

"always"....that word speaks volumes to me. She knew it was his ONGOING actions. And allowed it, but again, she did not want SS to ever leave her.
