I would be interested in seeing evidence of when JS was at work that Sunday/Monday.

**GRAPHIC WARNING**As per the warrant, it does look like SS was living in a spare room at the family property.

I don't know that we can necessarily take it as a "spare" room. It could have still been a room potentially shared with the mother, JMO.

I’d bet a lot of money we’ll learn it’s not the first sighting…
Yeah… they were certain before she was located that she was deceased. Maybe he’s on video carrying her to his vehicle and she didn’t seem alive or to be sleeping. Or a trunk shot as has been mentioned.

Well, except I noticed her verbal communication skills were quite good. So it stands out that she would know the difference between pronouns. To me, it sounds like she was trying to make it sound like they both dropped Madeline off. Otherwise, why not specify from the beginning that it was just him dropping her off? Why cover that up by using the word "we". Then suddenly, she corrects herself, saying, well, it was my boyfriend who dropped her off. So, that shows she had awareness that saying "we" was not accurate. And on top of that, we now have the recent friend (Frank) stating they were not an actual couple any more, and he was not even living with her, so far as what SS told his friend anyway. But she called him her partner and boyfriend. A lot of discrepancies unfortunately. I would think she'd want to be forthcoming of the true facts from the very beginning so as to find Madeline as quickly as possible. All together, it seemed as if she was misleading the interviewer. Why might that be ? MOO.
Red bolding mine.

It looks like LE believe JS is not being transparent ?
Omo.

I agree the inconsistencies are concerning, but just a reminder that LE knew about this (JS’s original statement and their conflicting timeline) but still said she was not a suspect.
The agent who gave the press conference said she was not a suspect at this time.

I think from the very first interview most people here and elsewhere had picked up that she was not being transparent so experienced LE interviewers must have been cross checking and finding other evidence to substantiate or disprove her story.

I think more will be coming out. We wait.

Honestly I’m very surprised they located her so quickly - others have not been

JS's lies have been proven to be lies, but to what end would she be lying?

Consider these angles - She knows that SS took MS to school, not "we" as she claimed in interview. She states she saw MS get ready in the morning before leaving with SS. In this scenario she either suspects SS did something and is covering for him, or she thinks MS was snatched off the street. I think that she must think these details of her seeing MS will get people to feel sympathetic to her. If she suspected and supported SS she would maybe call it a runaway or avoid the press. I think she just made stupid statements that will get her in trouble. I can't see how her other actions would support the idea of her being in on MS's death. She seems to be rewriting her daughter's death day so that she was more present and aware of MS.

Thank goodness for that guy ringing in with his camera footage. Because of him, she didn't have to lie out there for weeks, months, years, like some do.

My initial suspicions came from mom using the plural in regards to the drop off, her selling this idea of the perfect day before hand, the fact that she pointed to a video she hadn’t even seen as definitely being Madeline, and her overdone facial expressions at certain points (the truth isn’t something you need to think about). I was also bothered by her last account of seeing her daughter being at bed time and offering no explanation, along with Madeline apparently being picked up way too early for school.

There were potential innocent explanations to all of this, but that has gone out the window now.

I’m convinced they have Madeline’s body on video either prior to that that trash dump or around the same time. They know she was dead by the time he returned at 8:19.

This all means that mom could not possibly have seen her daughter at 8 that morning, unless she viewed a corpse.

So the question is this, why lie if you’re not involved?

I am curious if he is listed as a contact for her at school and if he is marked as allowed to pick her up/sign her out.
Good question! I'd hope not given Maddie's gran had an office near the school per mom in one of her interviews....

Yes that was my thought - too many are left to the elements then we can’t get a cause of death

Hi! New here. What time did mom’s alibi start? Neither JS or SS was at the birthday? Who drove MS home? What time? Who was home there? If mom worked during the party, she’s claiming she worked overnight too? That’s an awfully long shift. What were her hours?

So, Stephan is on video at the dumpster dumping Madeline's items at 7:35am.

Mom now claims she last saw Madeline getting dressed at 8:00am.

Using Google Maps, it's roughly a 10-15 minute drive to Madeline's school, depending on traffic, how heavy one's foot is, etc.

Per the affidavit, Stephan's vehicle is caught by a license plate reader leaving the area of the school at 8:10am

Per the sheriff, video from the apartment complex shows him returning to the apartment complex at 8:19am, with Madeline in the vehicle (presumed already deceased).

Clearly, somebody's timeline isn't matching physical evidence that has been gathered. They're hanging themselves with these interviews that give conflicting times and information.

Make it make sense. JMO.

More than that - it's denying them the dignity of postmortem rites. It's leaving them out there for the weather and the bugs and the scavenging animals. We treat pets better than that. The dead deserve to be treated with respect, not dumped like an old mattress or a broken sofa. Madeline deserves that respect. She deserves a headstone with her name.

7:35am he’s dumping her things in dumpster.
Leaves then returns at 8:19 and police say they believe she was already dead (she was apparently visible on the video).

We don’t know where he was before 7:35 or to 8:19am.
Shortened for focus.

If he's dumping her things at 7:35 she's already dead IMO. I can't imagine anyone taking a backpack and laptop from a student, saying "You're not gonna need these anymore" and tossing them into a dumpster.

Very well stated.
