So she wasnt at school all day and wasnt reported missing until 8 pm. Over 12 hours time had gone by--at least. Ugh.

Yeah… more than anything that’s the part I have an issue with. The rest I can let go of for now. But that’s a long time! And she didn’t have her phone. Even calling everyone and driving around, I don’t know y’all… like that’s over 3 hours. I mean would she normally just be gone for that long? She’s 13 and public transport is awful in that area (I used to live there.). Would she even take the bus normally? Would she have had money? Like this part is so weird to me.

Yes! I just saw that in the new report. I wonder why she didn’t call from school, she claimed 4:45 originally. If my child didn’t show up at pickup line I would go into the office.

Initially said she arrived to school at 4:30pm to pick her up. Then in another story that changed to 4pm.

Also said she rode around looking for Madeline when she didn't come out of school...drove by her mom's work, back to the school only to find it closed, so she emailed a teacher, then called police, etc.

Has told some sources she called police at 4:45, but the affidavits from police state they were notified by mom at 8:00pm, over 3 hours later.


Time will tell the real story. If they've nailed down with CCTV and phone records for Stephan, you can bet they're looking at mom's too to determine the real story. JMO

She actually said in one of her interviews that she arrived at 4:30ish to pick Maddie up, and that she couldn't find her, so she went into the school and spoke to someone who told her that Maddie had not been in school that day. Thing is, final bell is at 4:04, I think? 4:30 would have made her late for pick up, anyway. And, when school lets out, those parking lots are packed and busy, office staff are usually packed up and ready to go, if not gone already, AND she would have to be buzzed into the building to even get access. Granted, Hunter's Creek might be different. Would be interested in finding out. IMO and my experience as a faculty wife.

LE will have been looking very carefully at everything which was said in all of the interviews and checking not only what was said ,but the body language shown. They will have other evidence and will check every inconsistency and re interview to clarify statements in the light of any new evidence. We only know a fraction of the evidence LE have .

They’ll also have the autopsy report and eventually the toxicology report and I suspect that may help guide their investigation quite a lot.

This school starts at 9:30 AM. I think schools that start later tend to end later as well. Though I suppose it's also possible Maddy was part of an after school program or something.

She could have spoken on her own to an officer and told them she felt unsafe.

Absolutely! And they’d have very quickly moved to get her away from him and ensure her safety.

This is just inconceivable; the nonchalance!

Plus during one of her interviews, she was asked if Madeline would know how to get home, just after JS said she was staying home in case she came home. And the response was that JS didn't know whether Madeline would know her way home. This was off the wall to me. What 13 year old doesn't know their own address at least? This is something we teach younger children for safety reasons IMO.

ETA: And if she felt she couldn't find her way home, then why stay at home waiting and not be out searching for your child. Makes no sense to me.

Where I work, yes there is a list. There is even an alert if there is a custody dispute. Parents must also show ID to pick up kids. An adult can't just walk in a school and ask for a child to leave with them. The legal guardian who enrolls them is the one who controls who can pick them up and who is listed as contacts, in what order, and whether they should be contacted for emergencies.

The kids do not leave the school without being picked up by parents at the end of the day? Do kids not walk home on their own or walk out to their parents waiting outside? Once my kids got to middle school the kids walk out on their own if they do not take a school bus.

It seems inconceivable that JS did not park her car and enter the school office to ask where Madeline was when she did not come out at collection time,unless of course she knew Madeline was not in school that day and needed more time to pass before calling LE.

This makes zero sense to me. What’s the protocol for a no show driver exactly? Somehow I doubt it’s let the kid walk and don’t call home to ask where parent is!!

I think it is possible,though it is quite old. Maybe his father bought it for him to use.

According to his friend "Frank", who gave a phone interview with Grey Hughes yesterday, the vehicle belongs to the dad. Video was previously shared last night upthread.

The warrant says Madeline was reported missing at 8pm. Mom said in a media interview she called 911 after the teacher advised her kid hadn’t been in school at all that day. I don’t buy it. Police didn’t just make mom wait several hours before taking the report. Not a chance!! If they did, she’d be screaming blue murder in that video on how they wasted precious time when they could have been looking for her. Sorry not buying it.

Did NOT say she called or texted mom or stopped in to ask if she’d seen her. Maybe police have more info and she just didn’t tell the media if she took these steps.

You are allowed to have them darker than what’s considered “legal” if you have a waiver from a physician for certain medical conditions. In addition to that, many tiny companies will tint according to the owner’s desires, legal or not.

Yeah my dumb brother found out the hard way. A fine and a razor blade later, he had zero tint on his truck windows.
