Sort of. Perhaps when JS first called she was told no one was available at that time. Someone would call her as soon as they could. In the meantime, JS was told by LE what steps to take: figure out who saw her last and what she was wearing, check with all Maddy's friends and their parents; double check with all Maddy's teachers in case she had been in school for a subject or two; drive any routes she might have walked to a relative's house, friend's house, comic book store, where ever she might have walked to; look for cameras and see if video might be available. LE prob outlined different things JS was too upset to think of doing.
I would have thought all the actions outlined would not require much thinking about ,they were the blindingly obvious things to do.

But then how would you transfer her in daylight at that hour? Surely that didn’t happen? Right? Occam’s razor says that’s crazy! But SS is well, crazy!
Well, let's talk crazy transfer in daylight hours. There's been mention of the "parrot" noise. I saw something somewhere that JS may had have a pet-sitting business at one point. So, immediately, in the dark, after the fact, the remains are placed in the car trunk. JS is pet-sitting a neighbor's animals and said neighbor has a garage for which JS has the garage door opener . . . . You pull in, rearrange the vehicle, and have a completely different scene . . .

Crazy is right, but . . .

If you're in your right mind, they are blindingly obvious. However, to a stunned, maybe not-too-bright mother they may not be. Or maybe she needed to be told where to start.

Undoubtedly, people react differently to stunning news. Unfortunately, for me, my brain just completely quits working and my mouth won't shut up. In a case like this, there's no telling what my stupid mouth might be saying while my brain sits there sputtering.

If not allowed, please delete.
@MassGuy, did you find the same th

BBM for focus

I agree but then it makes no sense that she would have, as he put it, slept most of the way to school in a what was it, 20 minutes at most drive?

There had to be a reason he made that point.
IMO, because no conversation eliminates the need to formulate and remember an exchange that never happened. a/k/a as a lie he would have to keep track of.

Had Mum spoken to the school when she made her first call to LE ? At that time it was only 45 minutes after school was out and if she did not know that Madeline had not been at school all day ,to check with friends and teachers would be a very basic first step.

Sorry to be a bug. I can’t seem to get a website to load a copy of the arrest affidavit to check for myself so I thought I’d ask the group.

Do we know whether this apartment complex is gated ?
it is my understanding it is a gated community.

We live near the border with Canada so there are always border patrol officers in addition to local police, county sheriff and NYS Police driving around a lot in the area due to illegal border crossing, human smuggling, and human or drug trafficking. So many drug busts happen due to traffic stops for a headlight or brake light out, running a stop sign, speeding, etc. I can't imagine having ten pounds of cocaine in my car and doing 55 mph in a 30 mph zone or driving with one headlight! Thank God that these criminals are lax though, because it gets them caught!
I read or heard once that an LE said that people who are committing big crimes are more likely than most to also commit smaller crimes like driving with a brake light out etc. I always thought it odd that someone with a truck load of pot would risk driving with a light out or something like that but apparently it is very common and they know this.

her words were in the interview, she wasnt there for pickup, she drove around, checked her mother's place of business, went back to the school, it was closed, she emailed the school and when the teacher confirmed she was absent all day that's when she knew something was TRULY wrong, and then called 911.

did she call prior to confirming with the teacher via email, checking with friends and was advised by LE to do that first? IDK.

Ty ! I heard that on Closing Arguments and was wondering if this could be why we are not seeing the usual press photos of search warrant/CSI activity at the house

Would drones be prohibited from flying over the property and capturing what was happening?

But it either took LE 3 hours to make contact or it didn't?
according to SS statement to the press, "i even went out with the cops where I dropped her off', we looked all up and down the road...there was nothing helpful, none of the cameras were pointing the street..."

of course, he is a liar, but it appears this did happen with LE. BUT: when????? no time is indicated.

My understanding is that yes, JS went to the school -- at perhaps 4:30 -- and was told Maddy had not been at school the entire day. JS mentioned going into school. I don't remember any mention of checking with teachers or any kids still there. It appears to me that from the school, JS probably went to her mom's office thinking that was the most likely place Maddy would have walked to. Since Maddy wasn't at mom's office nor school, JS made the call to LE -- 4:45 if I remember correctly. There is another mention of going back to the school, which was locked by the time JS returned. -- from understanding and memory.

I too thought she went back to the school and it was closed so she emailed a teacher. I can see the school office being closed but would all teacher's have left . I would have thought there would be children doing after school activities and teachers working in their classrooms . I was a primary school teacher in the U.K and it would have been very rare for most staff not to still be in school half an hour after the children left.

I’m not familiar with drone laws in Florida but I found this website.

Senate Bill 766

A person, state agency, or political subdivision may not use a drone to capture an image of privately owned real property or of the owner, tenant, occupant, or invitee with the intent to conduct surveillance without written consent if a reasonable expectation of privacy exists.
Would press videoing the apartment be considered “surveillance”? It also states law enforcement can’t use drones to surveil private homes.

respectfully, her interview, the sequence of events, she doesnt state she went inside the school or checked with anyone inside of the school. she said she went to pick her up and she wasnt there, so she started driving around <---first thing she said......then, drove to her mother's business, not there, went back to the school, it was closed. she didnt confirm her absence until, she says, she emailed the school and one of Madeline's teachers confirmed she was absent all day.

I would not pull my hair out or put to much stock into what mother said and the timeline she gave until it's confirmed by law enforcement.

Touching on a few things here-

Security at the complex:

It is a gated community, with a guard station and gate and apparently LOTS of cameras throughout the complex.
Mixed reviews about their "security" can be read on Google-

Venetian Bay VillagesCondominiums Association
(407) 343-4933

Venetian Bay VillagesCondominiums Association - Google Search

Was the guard station manned that morning as SS exited & reentered the premises? If so, I wonder what they may have seen, aside from what CCTV captured.

Secondly, someone upthread previously said they couldn't find either JS or SS on public data sources tied to this address.

Apparently unless you are an OWNER, you cannot receive mail from the USPS there.

One of the reviews stated:
No, renters are not entitled to receive USPS mail.

Just more food for thought.
