No. It is that without a man to help pay the rent, they would be homeless. That is an unfortunate reality now. Especially when so many men bail on child support. It is almost impossible for a single Mom, with kids, making minimum wage at Walmart, to pay rent, electricity, forget a car and car insurance.

Please don't judge women who are living constant lives of struggling. They get judged enough.
Just read an article basically saying this - that for many people the only way they can afford rent right now is to partner up. Cost of living is such a problem right now (and I'm not in the US but I know its a problem pretty much everywhere right now). It could, sadly, be a motivation for some to overlook behaviours because they feel like its that or homelessness. Its not a position anyone should be in :(

We don't know that it applies here but its one reason of many why I personally hesitate to blame the mother in any way for any of it until LE says she's played a role in some way (especially if coercive control is at play)

Link what times and dates?
I use google chrome’s accessibility features to transcribe audio so that I don’t have to watch videos, so I don’t have timestamps if that is what you are looking for. I’m not sure what dates would mean in this context.

I don’t think any of this is new information, it has all been discussed in this thread, I’m just trying to tie the existing conversations to sources.
Thank you for putting together both of those posts. Well done!

With regards to the warrant for the monster’s arrest that is posted to thread - does Madeline have a middle name and would it be used in the documentation? Asking because there is a long blacked out part that may not be spelling out “Madeline Soto” - based solely on a lose count of possible typed letters and spaces in that area it seems to perhaps be a longer name? Did anyone else notice that? It’s entirely possible I’m miscounting or misperceiving this due to the fact that I am tired and in sore need of coffee or sleep. Anyone have thoughts on this? It seems most likely to me that Madeline is the one mentioned in the document but could it be she isn’t or it was someone else?

I hear you and I’m torn on this. I see this two ways. I would wanna shout as loud as I could and keep up public pressure to find my daughter. At the same time, I worry people are judgy and public perception is everything. If she loses support of the public, would they just ignore her and forget to look for the girl? I have seen some cases like this - one where everyone was so focused on mom and what she did or didn’t that mom became the topic of discussion and not the missing child really. Horrible situation.
<modsnip>I am more concerned about the little girl as are all of us. I agree lets all just put our focus back on the child.

Regarding the monster who picked her up on the Monday for school…

He picked her up well before school and is said to have brought her to a parking lot that the arrest warrant says wasn’t usually where she was dropped off. Mom says she had “accidentally” left her phone at home that day but the warrant says it was unusual for her to be out of contact with friends and family.

It will be interesting to see if he ends up charged with kidnapping and or murder and what evidence they produce. I would like to know what those who know the monster have to say about him?

What had Madeline told her friends about him if anything over the years?

I wondered this too as it seems like sometimes its redacting "Madeline" and other times its something longer.

also, its really disgusting what he did. That is an extremely difficult document to read. That poor, poor child. I'm so damn sad and disappointed and angry :(

The long blacked out section also gave me pause. I wonder what that was about!?

(11 letters and one space = 12 total).

But the warrant seems to have a redacted (name?) that seems far longer than this - I think based on the letters below it, I counted over 20 characters. It also seemed Le probably used Madeline’s first name only in some parts of the document.

Could they be talking about Madeline as missing and perhaps a different child victim of his perversions?

I believe in most instances, references to Maddie just use her first name, Madeline. If the 20-character name you’re referring to is about the child in the photos/videos, it might be the case that the child’s face isn’t visible in all of the photos, so the warrant request might use some extra words to cover that aspect. I think mention of an additional victim would probably take up more space. With that said, we also don’t know if it is Sterns in the CSAM, or if police are asserting it is Sterns.

I’m also a bit perplexed with the redacted paragraph, but given its placement I do think it has to do with the identification of his house as the site of the photos and videos. I’m not sure why it would be redacted, but they don’t mention where the recordings were taken anywhere else. I’m not entirely up on my FL statutes but I would think that in order to arrest him for sexual battery, they’d need to know that he was involved beyond possessing CSAM, and establishing the recordings were made at his home might be sufficient for that.

There is some very specific details regarding the penis in the videos. I guess since he asked for an Attorney right away, they weren’t able to ask to see his right? Will they get a search warrant for that now?

Madeline does have a middle name which was found on social media. I won’t use it here but I can advise, even if Le used her middle name with spaces, the full name takes only 16 spaces. So it either is not her, or they’ve added something more to their paperwork descriptor (perhaps an identifying feature of hers such as a mole or birth mark?). Just trying to work out what such a long redacted bit is when it cannot be just her name.

Might have just asked Madeline’s poor mother.

Yes. They’ll get a search warrant to examine his body for sure. It’s necessary to prove that it is in fact him in those photos/videos.

I think it just has to be her. In a case like this (an almost certain murder), the motive is overwhelmingly sexual. The videos prove that he’s into kids, so if she’s the victim of a sexually motivated homicide, it stands to reason those sex acts would have preceded that.

They’re in an awkward spot here because everyone is going to assume that the victim is Madeline. Child sex victims are afforded protections, so I think they’re covering their bases in the astronomically unlikely possibility that she is somehow alive.

I can agree with you here that it may be they’re trying to conceal her identity as a CSAM victim. Maybe they just made a lot of space to black out after her name with that goal in mind?

I also agree that sadly, she is unlikely to still be alive. I wonder if he killed her on Sunday after her birthday gathering or if she really did go home and directly to bed afterwards? I sure hope Le know a lot more than we do and ca. somehow find her.

I’m sure they do know a hell of a lot more. His phone should tell them where he went that day, so it’s a matter of checking out all those locations of interest, which will obviously take some time. It also takes a while to gather and pore over surveillance video, and receive the results of subpoenas.

This just seems incredibly sloppy, and I can’t imagine the amount of mistakes he made.

The way mom comforted him in this video . At this point, I don't think she knew. I can't imagine what this family is going through and IMO they are all analyzing erything they feel could've been a sign something was wrong.
Sweet Madeline looks just like her mom. Her eyes were so dark on her birthday, like she was exhausted or fighting something.
Sweet Madeline, I'm sorry you were failed. You deserve to live a wonderful life, being whatever you wanted to be.
You all what more can we do to identify children who are being abused so that it can be stopped and they can be saved? What safety net can be provided so they have space and support to report when they're unable to tell close family and friends?

I usually don't read much into photographs like this, as it's simply a brief moment in time that may or may not convey a certain condition (happy, sad, stressed, whatever). This one strikes me different for some reason. I'd bet that if you took hundreds of photos that day, you'd see pretty much the same thing; a child who was miserable.

I am holding out hope that this dear child is alive.

Speculation only: If his real estate license is inactive, has he been pretending to work but actually making money from the most evil of crimes?

Also maybe someone had the idea that a crime against a 13-year-old is treated differently than against a 12-year-old, so as soon as she was 13...
