FL FL - Mandarin, Skeletal Remains in yard, Mar'11

  • #41
I've always been inclined to believe that Haleigh's body was placed in the river, but there's no way it floated onto the upscale Mandarin Rd property 500-600 feet from the river. I don't think she was deliberately buried there, either. Google streetview shows large homes with manicured lawns and gardens. Seems to me an unlikely place for the Satsuma gang to hide a body. Unless they had help from a landscaper. :waitasec:

Yes, I'm kidding. But I was sitting here trying to imagine how a body could become buried on someone's property if the owner didn't place it there, and it occurred to me that in a neighborhood like Mandarin Road with its sprawling lawns, a landscaper could easily bury a body in a client's yard far enough away from the house that it could go undetected for quite some time.

Landscaper or maybe......."tree service"?

Lo and behold, I did a search on the distance from Palatka to Mandarin Rd. and it's only 57 minutes travelling time. Just a hunch here, but it would explain a 2 to 3 hour gap in someone's accounting of an "8" hour shift that lasted 11 hours with time to stop for cigarettes and peanuts.

While I can appreciate your take on that, the search for the guns and the discovery of this body are two separate issues, yet the possibility exists that they "could" be associated. So, although "slim", there is a chance. That's why we're here every day looking for any little clue. Let's hope that it is in some way involved with Haleigh's case.

The DNA from the body, hopefully, will indicate this in short order.

Yes, I did not mean to denigrate that one small chance. Just trying not to get my hopes up too high.

Anyone we know with access to landscaping tools, vehicles, etc? People who trim trees, and do landscaping...where do they take the truckloads of debris?

Didn't Ron's Aunt, who just recently passed, have a landscaping or treetrimming business? or was she a RN? or is that the same person :waitasec: ...lol (just kidding)

Remember who you're talking about -- someone else would have done his dirty work and besides why that particular location. Don't think so.

Ummm

But too risky 'cause if the body is found, it would be too easy to trace.

I wouldn't think it would be that easy to trace, unless there's some evidence to connect the remains to a particular load of landscaping debris. It's not like a landfill, where trucks are recorded going in and out. The area where the vehicles were parked looks like it's way back in the trees, away from the house -- there wouldn't even be much risk of discovery to somebody burying a body back there without the debris.

Yes, of course....I know what you're saying. I've felt that way for some time and I've even taken breaks from posting for weeks at a time just to be able to get myself back on track. It gives me time to put things in perspective. I think every time there's a possibility there may be a break in the case and it turns out to be nothing, I've learned that you just go on until there is one.

I was thinking that this was not a random location but that a particular company had done work at that location.

Well, if you've been employed as a tree service worker and you've been there at one point in time, thought the place was fitting because it was so well manicured, why not that particular place? Tree service doesn't mean you hire them just because you want a tree taken down. Here in Florida, the palms are constantly producing fronds and they hang until the wind blows them down. If you're a buff about your yard, you hire the tree service or landscapers to take them down.

The distance fits. The time fits. The place fits. Why wouldn't you think so?

I just don't think Ron would have done it himself.

Bingo........yes.

and...yes.

There are a lot of things I didn't Ron could do, but.......he did them.

Is there any more info out there on this body they found?

Other than selling his own drugs, I'm trying to think when he did his own "dirty work".

ahhhh........I see what you're saying but.......we don't know what he or anyone else for that matter has done when they're alone. He's displayed a lot of nonsensical behavior so who knows.

The recent disection of the 911 call where someone hears MC saying "what did you do with her" spikes an interest in me as to what did that really mean and who was she talking to?

Tree service businesses sometimes deliver and even spread mulch because they have an abundance of it if they run their tree trimmings through a chipper shredder.

Disclaimer: Not that I think this happened in this case, just stating the obvious.

:)

Me too. Wonder where AS went after she left the MH and oh yea, where was TN all evening that she had to send someone to check on the children but then was there immediately if not sooner.

Oh? I hadn't heard this. Can you point me in the right direction, please and thank you? :)

Yes, exactly. Knew the ground was already disturbed perhaps, and that more rubbish would be thrown over the area soon.

It doesn't look like a place one would stumble on at random.

IMO If it was Ron C she was speaking to when she asked "what did you do with her" that does not necessarily mean he is the one who physically took care of disposing of Haleigh's remains...Being Haleigh's father he may have very well given someone else specific instructions that he needed to be carried out concerning what to do with her remains but that does not necessarily mean he tackled the task himself....I can see Misty directing the question to him..JMHO

No, you're right. Nothing necessarily means anything in this case. That's the problem. I'm just throwing my thoughts out here and trying to make sense of at least a smidgeon of it.
