Verbal threats? Neither of those two elements are part of the legal definition of a threat. In short, a threat can exist with out verbal threats being made and wth out being attacked.

Attacked a man who had confronted his wife while in an angry state, using profanity and.... had one hand near his WAISTBAND.

At the end of the day, if broad rights of self defense are given to one man, then broad rights of self defense (or defense of family) must be given to both men.

If not, then the slippery slope leads to.....

Self Defense (n): People who think like I do have broad rights of self defense. Moat people who think like I do, look like I do.

Eventually, this practice is going to result in push back that is going to get people killed. Another way to get off the slope is to modify Florida's law to state one cannot provoke or incite the other party. Juries can decide what constitutes provoking or i
No, the woman said she wasn't afraid and if you look at the video, there is nothing disturbing until MM does his surprise attack upon D. It's time people started acting civilized and stop answering words with violence. If MM was civilized, there would have been no deaths. Everyone has the same rights to self defense, and that is what a reasonable person would consider deadly. A reasonable person would consider MM brutal slam to be deadly, but not D's talking to the woman.

It is designed to look like a swastika, even using the same color scheme. To barter the lives of 6 million Jews to make a cheap political statement is reprehensible.
I think you’ve missed the point.
This thread is about Markeis, not avatars.

There would not be so many women killed or assaulted by men if that were the case.
You are big on the 'small older man' theory, but a woman is not weaker than a man?
A woman is weaker than a man and if attacked, she deserves the right to self defense. However, you can't claim self defense because you don't like what you hear. There has to be reasonable expectation of danger. Which means you cannot shoot or attack someone for being on the same sidewalk you are on, no matter how "scary" you think that person is. If someone flips you off, you cannot shoot them or attack them.

What if the person flips you off and then makes a motion with his hand toward his waistband? Because I think then you're allowed to shoot.

I would feel intimidated and afraid if a man were yelling at me using a profanity.

It is unfortunate this thread has turned from fact based discussion to trolling with the disregard for specific lives.

Death is the ultimate end and no one deserves to die as a means to solve a disagreement. To say MM deserved to die over something as little as a push is not only insensitive but shows a lack of humanity, empathy and soul. There is a million ways this could have ended differently, on both sides. I personally IMO believe a lot of the comments here to be disingenuous, to be of the anonymously provocative manner only to cause a stir. Its my opinion because I'd like to think people have empathy, can look at lives equally, that one human isn't more or less valuable than another, but as this thread goes on more and more show that people dont. Statistics say the same but I try to be optimistic that people wont intentionally miscue or twist factual video evidence to try to paint MM as a hug or bad man, it seems impossible for them to look through his and his family eyes because he isnt perceived as equal footing in humanity as Drejka, thats why its impossible for some people to see it unbiasedly. The same people who call the police on other people for studying in their own school, trying to swim at a public pool and children selling water as a business... are the same who automatically think MD was in danger just because how MM looked rather than what the video shows.

IMO we shouldnt bite on the intentional stirring but focus on the truth here, MM didnt deserve to die, nothing in that video gave MD the right to take a life. A life is lost and that isn't the focus here its sad.
Who says MM deserved to die? As far as I can tell, everyone is saying D DESERVED TO LIVE. MM attacked someone and that is both wrong and illegal. There is no excuse for attacking someone by surprise.

What a lovely fellow.
Right? Ticking time bomb, just waiting for his chance to kill someone even if he had to create a confrontation himself. It was never about the parking space for him.

THE WOMAN SAID SHE WAS NOT THREATENED AND WAS NOT AFRAID.

No, it looks like MM was looking for a easy target to pull his cowardly attack, and happened to pick someone who had a CCW. D was lucky to survive.

That is neither here nor there. She did not get shot. Her partner obviously saw a threat to his family.

Maybe that would be good advice for MD.From link provided post #942.

The officer didn’t believe Drejka and said it would be strange for someone to shout about a gun if they hadn’t already seen it.

The officer wrote that there was "no doubt" Drejka pulled his gun. But the victims drove off, so the officer did not arrest him.

"I advised him his (concealed carry) permit did not give him the right to exhibit (a gun) because he was ‘flipped off’ for honking at someone," the officer wrote. "I told him a report would be taken and that if the victim was located he could face jail and the loss of his (concealed carry permit)."

Plenty of people have been unarmed and shot because the person thought that they were armed. Why couldn't MM have thought that? Are only some people allowed to sense a threat?
Nobody is allowed to SENSE a threat and act upon it physically. It has to be real.

The article was about D's history, and his eagerness to get into violent confrontations. He finally pushed someone too far and was able to act out his little fantasy.

No, you are not allowed to shoot. You need to research what is considered a threat when it comes to civilians.

Isn't SYG all about your own feelings of impending danger. Which is why MD will probably skate free.
MM isn't around to tell us how he felt at the time. IMO

D had no record because you lose your CCW permit for illegal acts. The only one eager to get into a violent confrontation was MM, just look at the video. Haven't you seen it? At proper, normal speed?
