The woman accused of dressing up as a clown and killing a woman in 1990 pleaded guilty to second-degree murder Tuesday weeks ahead of her trial. Authorities said #SheilaKeenWarren shot #MarleneWarren after coming to her house dressed as a clown with two balloons and flowers.

Yup and she’ll be out in a few years. Sad that he son had so little to say. Just that he never saw remorse. It’s as if he’s resigned to the fact that appropriate justice for his mom will never come. She’s the only one with a smile on her face in some of the videos.

The plea deal calls for a 12-year sentence, though Keen Warren's attorney, Greg Rosenfeld, told reporters outside the courtroom that he expects her to be home in 10 months. If convicted, she faced a life sentence.

Great question and one I'd like to know as well. Unfortunately, haven't found an article anywhere to confirm a divorce.

Twelve years after his late wife’s killing, Michael Warren married Sheila Keen, now Keen-Warren, authorities said.

Though Keen-Warren had long been a suspect in the case, evidence available in 1990 was just not strong enough to secure a conviction, investigators said at the time of her arrest.

In the nearly 30 years that had passed, Sheila Keen had married Michael Warren in a Las Vegas chapel wedding in 2002. The two had moved to Abingdon, Virginia, where they had built a home and ran a fast food restaurant called The Purple Cow in nearby Kingsport, Tennessee, according to authorities.

Neighbors Brook and Rocky Blevins said they knew the Warrens as “Debbie” and “Mike,” a sociable, hard-working and friendly couple. But the Warrens’ other neighbors, Vicki and John Chittester, said they had a nasty run-in with Michael Warren once, and said he could have a temper. Neither couple said they knew of the Warrens’ previous lives in Florida.

As the 27th anniversary of Marlene Warren’s death approached, Palm Beach Post reporter Barbara Marshall was working on a feature about the case when she said her researcher discovered that Michael Warren and Sheila Keen had gotten married and were now living in Virginia.

"While business was good, the marriage, says Ahrens, was troubled. He says his mother became convinced Mike was having an affair, making her fearful.


Joe Ahrens: She said, "if anything does happen to me, your father did it."

Peter Van Sant: She said that to you?

Joe Ahrens: I told her no way — he would never do anything like that. She said don't put it past him.

Marlene shared that same fear with her mother, Shirley Twing.

Shirley Twing: She says, "If anything happens to me, Mike did it."

We interviewed Twing in 2017, when "48 Hours" started investigating Marlene's murder.

Peter Van Sant: That's an ominous thing to say. … Did you sense fear in her voice?


Shirley Twing: Sure. Yes, I did.

So, when Twing learned her daughter had been murdered, her mind went to Mike Warren.

Shirley Twing: Right away. I figured Mike had something to with it, that's for damn sure."

18 puny months! well that was a sweeheart deal- I presume that is in keeping with sentencing guidelines at the time the murder was committed- There sure is no justice in this case
