Many things, but if I had to pull one funfact out of my hat it would be that ISIS has claimed responsibility for the Orlando Massacre.

Personally I do not find any funfacts to pull out of ones hat when so many people lost their lives.

I believe they would claim anything that is painful to us as Americans, so that has me nonplussed.

I'm with you, cvaldez. It seems so obvious and it's likely, but until there's a verified connection of some sort I'm not convinced.

That is not true and it's also an incredibly inflammatory statement to make.

Maybe it's just me but these two passages don't sound very nice to non-believes. I find what I read in their book to be inflammatory. jmo

“Believers, make war on the infidels who dwell around you. Deal firmly with them. Know that God is with the righteous.” Quran 9:123

“Believers, take neither the Jews nor the Christians for your friends. They are friends with one another…” Quran 5:51

Americans are the target. I don't have any problem with admitting gay people are targeted by islamic terrorists. My problem is with the fact they aren't targeted any more than any other demographic opposite of followers of islam. Identity politics is leading to the death of our nation, imho, and as long as we continue down this rabbit hole instead of coming together as American Citizens with shared values, it's only going to get worse.

It's not isolated to America - Europe, Australia...this is a worldwide problem and it needs to be addressed as such.

So their Profit does not say this in the Quran?

Then what bible are they reading from that teaches the to worship a God of hate and violence? One that says it is okay to lie to the infidels? Or if they murder an infidel they will be rewarded 70 or 72 virgins?

Was it?

What does that even mean? An eye for eye, or turn the other cheek? Or something else.... ?

It means it was a Christian nation based on Bible beliefs...On God, and slowly God is being taken out of our country and it shows. Not hard to figure out really IMO. If someone comes into our country they need to assymilate just like we would have to in their country. We are not an Islamic country.

Well of course they have! What else would they do? Whether anyone from ISIS ever directly heard of this guy or directly had any contact with him, of course they are going to take credit for his deeds.

They took credit because he said he did it in their name. ISIS, as recently as in the last week, encouraged anyone who supported their beliefs to commit atrocities. ISIS don't need to have met them, don't need to plan with them. More damage and fear can be achieved this way with little investment in resources. Its like 'release the hounds' - go out and do as much destruction as you can, we trust you.

Christianity is the religion of judgment and vengeance. Just look:

“Happy is he who repays you for what you have done to us – he who seizes your infants and dashes them against the rocks.” (Psalm 137:9)

“In the same way also the men, giving up natural intercourse with women, were consumed with passion for one another. Men committed shameless acts with men and received in their own persons the due penalty for their error.” (Romans 1:27)

Exodus 21:20-21 / If a man beats his male or female slave with a rod and the slave dies as a direct result, he must be punished, but he is not to be punished if the slave gets up after a day or two, since the slave is his property.

Funny you mention that, I read an article recently where they stated that some of those words in the Quran may have been inaccurately translated and that it was actually raisins....clear raisins, like they were better and had some significance at the time..not virgins..LOL I sure hope this new translation is correct maybe it would stop some of this nonsense if they thought they were going to get raisins LOL!

I also saw from the death list that most of the victims were Latino :( I know it was Latin music night.

raisins made from green grapes?

the belief they would be rewarded w virgins is sexist as well. as if a woman has no worth unless she is one, what happens after he himself "defiles" her? is she just to be cast aside? idk I find it repugnant.

Find something in the new testament at least. I know of no Christians today who use the old testament as a way of life. And still yet, I do not see anything saying to murder or to lie...those would be against Gods commandments. Those are generally what the Christians try to live by IMO

I hate to see this thread become and Christian/Muslim debate. NO ONE, no matter what their religious beliefs, has the right to murder innocent people. This MONSTER happened to be muslim. IMO, debating the Christian belief system isn't really relevant to this case. JMO

Same here..and yes possibly green grapes. I didn't pay too much attention to the article, I just sort of laughed to myself honestly. But it does seem it could be possible that the interpretation has been skewed. I hate their totally sexist and selfish ways..made up by a self determined prophet raised by christians IIRC. Who took the words of those who raised him and distorted them to benefit himself.

The Kuran preaches against suicide. The servants and wives (or raisins or grapes) have nothing to do with suicide bombings, other than its a verse that's been corrupted by either westerners and/or terrorist leaders.

I agree. No one has the right to murder innocents.

Much of Islamic law is NOT taken from the Quran but from the Hadiths. The Quran itself doesn't ban much in fact the Bible is far more restrictive. Prohibitions on alcohol, dogs, temporary wives (prostitution), homosexuality etc...are all from the Hadiths.

FYI the Hadiths were books written by Mohammed's associates shortly after his death. They told stories about Mohammed and also included alleged statements. Those became the basis for much of Sharia law and also Islamic cultural practices.

The punishment for homosexuality varies depending on interpretation, it can be a beating and shunning or death via stoning, Apparently hangings and a few other methods are also acceptable by modern followers of Sharia.

Why does it have to be about Islam at all? It's always okay to bash a religion as long as it's not Christian?
