Eddie Jamoldroy Justice is the one who exchanged those heart breaking texts with his mother. :(

I couldn't hold back the tears when I first learned this, having trouble right now actually. Fifty dead is so unfathomable, so hard to absorb, that it is almost numbing. This woman made it so personal, so real and so heartbreaking when you realize how many are grieving their losses.

Huge gratitude and appreciation to first responders and law enforcement. Officers on the crime scene, many victims still lying there while their phones ringing as family/friends try to reach them, but no answer [emoji29]

Condolences to the families of victims of this terrible and despicable crime.

It was Latino night at the Pulse. Maybe he hated Latinos? Maybe he hated people who go to nightclubs, period. Maybe he hated people in Orlando. We don't know.

We do know that he himself said it was in the name of ISIS.

We can connect some dots and draw some inferences. We know that Islam calls for death to all gays, and this murderer identified with Islam. It was probably targeted specifically toward gay people, but we do not yet know that.

Do we, though? I was under the impression that Sharia Law called for death to gays, not Islam. Sharia Law, from my understanding, is a set of rules from a sect that have interpreted Islam in their own sick and twisted way. Kind of like how a very small percentage of Mormons practice polygamy, but most Mormons are just as shocked and bothered by a man having multiple wives as you or I would be.

Gay people are generally seen as sinners to extremely devout Muslims and Christians alike, but I've never heard the mainstream form of Islam that 99.9% of Muslims practice promoted killing gays. Please provide a link to this information if it does.. Thank you.

About the many victims, I really am just at a loss. It's a horrible situation already, but seeing the mothers waiting to hear if their child survived or not makes me completely lose it every time. No mother should have to go through anything like that ever. No person should have to go from dancing and having fun to watching their friends get shot or being shot to death themselves. It makes me absolutely livid that these young people with so much life left to live were forced to sit there for hours in absolute fear while they bled to death because some worthless piece of trash was selfish, evil, and heartless enough to appoint himself their judge, jury, and executioner when they'd done absolutely nothing wrong.

I'll continue to donate daily because that $1 million doesn't seem like much when there is such an incredibly large amount of people who will need their medical bills paid, therapy, funeral services, etc. I'm way on the other side of America so giving blood isn't an option. I wish they would give us more ways to help or show our support. I wonder if they'll eventually accept sympathy cards for the victims and their families?

Not all mental illnesses are lifelong. Schizophrenia, for example, typically manifests between 16 and 30 years of age.

Some notions moo:

Onset is one component, duration the next. What I was trying to say is that her viewpoint included very adament statements about his behaviors, and her beliefs that he suffered with mental illiness.

Radicalzation can occur later - IMO they are not mutually exclusive. Same with our discussions regarding ISIS motivated, or hate crime. This can and probably is both.

I think where we are differing is which one is A and B.

I have a C as well!

Much hobophibia results from the notions presented in the bible. I think o it as receipe. Add in a dash of that. Grow up in(same for racism)an eenvoronment where hate for african americans, homosexuals, jewish whatever is "preached" for lack of a better word-- and that is part of the receipe as well

IMO the ISIS disain for homosexuality in this instance is also part of the receipe. Add in some serious impulse control issues and here we are

homphobia cannot be minimized in light of the statements made by his father, regarding the intensity of his sons response to two men kissing.

That IMO, sounds like a trigger, especially in one who is mentally ill resulting in a drive up here to a popular gay bar.

The fact that the guns used were recently purchased, after the two men kissing triggered intense feelings and thoughts is also a clue IMO

We have not heard any he was a gun lover stuff so that is a rule out, the guns appear to have been purchased for specific reason based on when purchased and what has happened here.

We have

-core early exposure to hate of gays
-a trigger - men kissing
-a history of being unable to process and control feelings of rage (DV)
- initiation of a plan - purchase of the guns
- drive up reulsting in biggest mass shooting in history. I think there will be some collateral fatalties by LE bullets- it was a long and tense evening.

and here we are on WS.

I think it would be interesting to know exactly when the "kiss" occured and how far after that the guns were purchased.

Some of the timing may have been work related.

I truly believe he was not a suicide bomber. I think his plan was to go in there watch and hate the festivites, stew if you will, and at closing time murder people leaving the bar at closing outside .

I think the armed security guard threw him off guard and changed everything.

The fact that he did not, when he ran into the bar murder a lot and then kill himself is important.

Apparently he was negoating with LE, indicting IMO. a belief that he would be able to get away is important as well.

He got in the bar around 930, he could have just attempted then - the waiting until closing on the spot at 2:02 indciates that IMo he planned to do all the shooting outside get in his car and "escape"

all moo

This guy was on FBI radar in 2013 and in 2014 having a connection to a islamic terrorist in Syria yet he was able to buy guns! LOL. This was not looked into before this all happened because of "political correctness". Unbelievable, sick, pathetic whatever you want to call it.

Respectfully BBM:

He called 911 just prior to his mass shooting and pledged allegiance to ISIS. He attached his terrorist act to ISIS/the Islamic religion himself. Nobody here did that for him.

Seems some don't want to believe him, however.

I dont think its about not wanting to believe him, it is about location.

It's no coincidence that the attack took place where it did and when it did," Grayson said. "It might be that we've seen the commission of an awful hate crime."

The Joker went to a movie theatre where Batman was playing

Elliot went up and down the street where everyone was having fun and with b/g friends

Roof went to a black church

Planned parenthood guy went to a clinic

disgruntled employ go to their workplace

Dude went to where congressman was speaking

Columbine went to their source of rejection

The guy who had issues with Military went to recruitment offices

Fort Hood Dr had issues with how the base was doing thing

The drive up here has to have some sigfigance IMO

Does anyone know if the two men kissing were "kissing" in Orlando, or in bar here, or where from here -you know what I mean.

Answered my question!

A law enforcement official told NBC News there is no indication that Omar Mateen was in touch with terrorists overseas and nothing to indicate this was a directed attack. Also, several officials say, there's no sign that anyone else was involved in the attack, either in helping Mateen or egging him on.
The father said his son got angry when he saw two men kissing in Miami a couple of months ago and thought that might be related to the shooting.

I had not heard this number - 11 LE folks stormed the building

Tens of thousands of people are pouring into our country and some of them could be like this guy and we are allowing this. We are suppose to be kept safe and that is not happening.

Exclusive: Former coworker said Mateen ‘unhinged and unstable’

http://www.tcpalm.com/news/crime/st...08-fbda-604f-e053-0100007fe777-382624281.html

Mateen was on an FBI list of suspected ISIS sympathizers and was looked into by federal authorities once in 2013 and again in 2014. He was the subject of a brief FBI investigation in 2014 before the case was closed.

"The FBI first became aware of Mateen in 2013, when he made threats to coworkers, including possible ties to terrorist activities," an FBI spokesman said in a press conference on Sunday.

"In 2014, Mateen again came to the attention to the FBI because of possible ties to an Amerian suicide bomber, Moner Abusalha. The FBI interviewed Mateen and determined that contact was minimal, and did not constitute a substantive threat at the time."

There are ten Muslim countries where homosexuality may be punished by death. They are Yemen, Iran, Mauritania, Nigeria, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, United Arab Emirates, and Iraq.

Actual laws...not just strains of religious bigots within the Faith. Shocking , isn't it?

THE father of the gunman in the Orlando nightclub massacre has posted a bizarre series of videos on social media declaring himself leader of Afghanistan and said God will punish those involved in homosexuality.

Omar Mateen’s father Seddique describes himself as a “politician” on a page called Provisional Government of Afghanistan — Seddique Mateen.

He appears in several videos wearing army fatigues in front of the Afghan flag. In a post after the deadly shooting which is the worst in US history, he says the family is shocked by the “tragic” news.

“I am deeply saddened and announce this to the people of America,” he said according to Washington Post reports while noting the shooting took place during the holy Muslim month of Ramadan.

But he also warned: “God himself will punish those involved in homosexuality.”

“This, is not for the servants” of God.

Omar Mateen didn't "pour into our Country" - he was born here!

He pledged allegiance to ISIS and had the same ideology but you will not hear this from the administration that refuses to call them ISIS but chooses ISIL for some weird reason and once claimed that ISIS is the "JV team".

ISIS is specifically referring to IS in Iraq and Syria. ISIL refers to the whole of IS, across the Middle East. Politicians throughout the world tend to call them ISIL (since it's all encompassing), if they're not calling them Daesh.

Gunman's father posts video to Facebook

Omar Mateen's father, Seddique Mateen, released a video statement on Facebook about his son.

In the footage, he said his son was a “very good boy” who lived a “dignified life and respected his parents.”

“I don’t know what made him [do this], I have no idea, I had no idea that he felt resentful in his heart and had gone to the gay [he uses the derogatory word hamjensbazi] club and killed men and women there.

“I am very sad and I’ve announced this to the American people as well. Why did he do this act during this holy month of Ramadan. On the topic of being hamjensbazi, punishment and the things that they do, God will give the punishment. This is not the issue for a follower of God and he [Omar] that did this has greatly saddened me. I wanted you to know this. God give all youth complete health to keep the real path of the holy religion of Islam in mind.”

RSBM

Euhrrr.... what? and what sect?

Sharia, Islamic sharia or Islamic law (Arabic: شريعة‎‎ (IPA: [ʃaˈriːʕa]) for law) is the religious legal system governing the members of the Islamic faith. It is derived from the religious precepts of Islam, particularly the Quran and the Hadith. The term sharia comes from the Arabic language term sharīʿah, which means a body of moral and religious law derived from religious prophecy, as opposed to human legislation. (Wikipedia)

Extreme prejudice remains, both socially and legally, in much of the Islamic world against people who engage in homosexual acts. In Afghanistan, Brunei, Iran, Mauritania, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, United Arab Emirates and Yemen, homosexual activity carries the death penalty.
In others, such as Algeria, Maldives, Malaysia, Qatar, Somalia and Syria, it is illegal.
Same-sex sexual intercourse is legal in 20 Muslim-majority nations (Albania, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Burkina Faso, Chad, Djibouti, Guinea-Bissau, Lebanon, Iraq, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Kyrgyzstan, Mali, Niger, Tajikistan, Turkey, West Bank (State of Palestine), and most of Indonesia (except in Aceh and South Sumatra provinces, where bylaws against LGBT rights have been passed), as well as Northern Cyprus)

There are several methods by which sharia jurists have advocated the punishment of gays or lesbians who are sexually active. One form of execution involves an individual convicted of homosexual acts being stoned to death by a crowd of Muslims. Other Muslim jurists have established ijma ruling that those committing homosexual acts be thrown from rooftops or high places, and this is the perspective of most Salafists.
