What do we all want? We want ourselves and the people we love to be able to fly on planes, go to nightclubs, go to Christmas parties at work, drop someone at the airport, ride a train...and not be in fear of their lives. Life is hard enough with accidents, illness, sudden natural death...it's wrenching enough to lose someone to those life events. Can't we agree on that?

But when your loved one dies because he's just on vacation in a French cafe, or with friends in a nightclub, or at work...and some stranger kills him to promote his religious beliefs, hunts him down because his Faith says he needs to be wiped off the earth...or kills him to avenge political decisions he was powerless to prevent...there is a hellish cruelty that must accompany that grief. This is indiscriminate hate. Devout Muslims died heinous deaths in the World Trade Center attacks..trapped, burned alive, or throwing themselves out of skyscrapers. These radical Islamists did not give them a free pass.

We can no longer ignore any entity that invites "Hate Imams" in to educate their flock. We can no longer shrug off the proponents of bringing Sharia law here. We just can't. Maybe we should stop aid to the ten Islamic countries with death penalties for Gays.

RAdical Islam is at war with us. We can deny it, try to say...oh, it's guns, oh, Christians hate too. But there's too many attacks now,..and always the same ideology behind it. All of us need to be prepared to be uncomfortable. Be prepared to call out our own. Be prepared to scream at whatever politicans we support. THIS HAS TO BE FACED!

They are at war with us whether we are too sophisticated to admit it or not. We can think we are being compassionate and inclusive but the poor hunted souls in that NightClub this weekend would scream at you...that there's no compassion in closing your mind and heart to what is behind this madness.

We had better pull together soon. This us just beginning. Take a good hard look at the people you love. They are really, truly at risk.

The thanks button just wasn't enough. Thank you for the very insightful post.

I was watching Fox earlier today and Dr. Carson was on and he was talking about the trials that were held in Texas in 2006-2007 of the Muslim Brotherhood. He said during the investigation they uncovered emails among the organization. One of the emails said that America was the perfect place for radical Muslims to infiltrate and organize because we are so politically correct we would be more worried about protecting their rights than ours and they would slowly eroded away our rights while we were busy protecting theirs.

That hit home because that is what has happened. We are so afraid to offend especially the Muslim community although I don't know how they would think they are included since most all say radical Islamic extremists. Whoever says it always makes that distinction.

If someone says something about a fanatical Christian extremist it doesn't bother me as a Christian at all. I know I have no fanatical Christian beliefs.

Also one of the guest on Brett's show brought up something I missed in the President's talk to day. He said he was more interested in rebuking Americans by telling us we must be more tolerant of gays and lesbians yet mentioned nothing about it is the radical Muslims' pure hatred of all homosexuals that put this in motion.

Oh and did anyone hear the President say they don't know what this man's motive was yet????? What????? Seriously????? How insulting to the victims who were murdered and severely wounded by this radial Muslim terrorist. Mateen made it abundantly clear why he did this mass shooting. He couldn't have made it any clearer what he motive was.

IMO

I am just going with the news coming out. Gay dating sites, 12 trips to Pulse....could we have our first gay terrorist?

I wasn't talking about your post, teh. As far as your question goes, I think there have been/are many more gay terrorists than this one (if in fact, he was). They just ignore their sexual preference/sexuality because it is rammed down their throats from birth that being gay is an abomination against "Allah". Also, it's punishable by death in many countries. Then again, this wonderful religion also stones/beats women to death who are raped. (because, you know, it's their fault and they asked for it.)

Probably time for me to get out of this thread.

Folks, if you want to live in a world without hate. Then stop hating. It really is that simple. Its called the Golden Rule. And it works. If only you would try it.

I think that is a tad bit of a simplistic POV. John Lennon tried it. Look where that got him.

Tell that to the Islamic Terrorists. That's what this thread is about. THEIR HATE.

IMHO, the Pres is a little too preachy for my liking! Always telling us "we're better than that" from the ivory tower he rests upon. Always telling us how we should feel during tragedies.
No sir, I'm not buying whatever it is you're selling. Thanks, but no thanks!

That is what Pocohontas thought. She even convinced her father that the newcomers would fit in just fine and should be welcomed with open arms.

It wasn't just fine, and love didn't make it okay. They were inviting a foreign culture to take over their world and that is exactly what happened.

I see you edited your post to make it more understandable. Are you saying all Natives had the same thought process as Pocohontas? Love didnt make it ok? When has anyone ever truly given Love a shot? Certainly not anybody with hate in their blood.

I think that is equivalent to putting on blinders, there could be so many reasons he chose a gay bar, including it being a soft target BUT I also stress he could have been dealing with issues of his own sexuality, think Andrew Cunanan.

I am just going with the news coming out. Gay dating sites, 12 trips to Pulse....could we have our first gay terrorist?

I have thought all along he was in the closet, either one night stands, with either gay or transgender, thus not so much homophobia but a hatred toward himself and not knowing how to accept his desires so to speak.

How I wish it was that simple. I do play by the golden rule and have no hatred for anyone and as far as I know no one has hatred in their heart for me either.

However hate has always existed and will continue unfortunately.

I'm A-B negative and I'm donating. Who's with me? WS can make a difference.

DH is O+ and a regular donor. Red Cross emails him when it's time for his donation. He donated blood last week. I'm an organ donor but don't give blood due to low iron.

Exactly, and our so called leaders think the best way to battle their hate is with more hate. A viewpoint that is shared by many posting in this thread.

Time to try something else.

Erin Burnett just asked some guest if he thinks this will go on???

These people are making $14 million a year what a moronic question in my opin

"If you see something , say something."

People now days can not take their eyes off their cell phones - how are they gonna see something!

If they did , would they be willing not to check there cell phones to find "someone" ( who is on their cell phone!) to say something to

doubtful

its catchy for sure

but ...........

I understand your concept, CoolJ. But the end result of that logic is more tragedy/victims.
We cannot assume that all society's want the same love-each other type of philosophy. It is failed logic if we do.

Tens of thousands of people are pouring into our country and some of them could be like this guy and we are allowing this. We are suppose to be kept safe and that is not happening.

You're worried about foreigners? This guy was born in NY!

Oceanblueeyes, i know, just from reading your posts here over the yrs , that you have a lot of compassion in your heart.

Just a tad OT: your hubby's blood type is considered the Universal Recipient & is a very common blood type. But good for him for donating--nice job!

Anyone here with O- (aka the Universal Donor) in the Orlando area should really consider donating blood during this tragedy. Much needed. Please.

It doesnt have to be Love. Lets try respect and understanding first.

Everyone bashes the idea of battling Hate with Love. But has it ever been truly tried on a large scale?

Ok, lets keep trying the same thing(more war, more hate). Maybe we will get a different result......

We need more John Lennons. This is not going to happen overnight.

I'm sure with your mother's loss and now this ... hitting so close to home in more ways than one. You're beyond frazzled, overwhelmed, and exhausted. Are you attending memorials, funerals for your mother's companion?

It is gonna sound awful to some of you, he is being cremated, and she wants nothing like any of that (funeral), and I would not either

its done
