ORLANDO, Fla. — When Dr. Joseph Ibrahim heard that the attack at the Pulse nightclub may have been linked to terrorism, he caught himself fearing any kind of link to his own Muslim, Middle-Eastern roots.

Please, he thought, don’t let Ibrahim appear anywhere in the gunman’s name.

Dr. Ibrahim — who heads the trauma unit at Orlando Regional Medical Center, and generally goes by Joey — had already spent hours repairing gunshot wounds in the bodies of Latino men and women, many of whom were the sons and daughters of immigrants, too.

Unfortunately all of these barbaric ways to murder are carried out by jihadists. They believe what they believe no matter how sadistic and perverse we view it. The laws in many middle eastern countries concerning homosexuality being punishable by death is based on their Muslim religion and beliefs. So it isn't just terrorists who believe in murder or advocates for it to happen, but anyone who kills someone because of their sexual orientation is a murderer, imo. Yet some of these countries are our allies.

It is one of the strangest religions I have ever read about. I still have no clue why anyone would want to follow a Profit who tells people they are to murder others. Why wouldn't they want a loving God? A God of forgiveness for all? I just don't think I will ever understand it and then knowing Imams are teaching this type of hate right here is even more mindboggling that it is allowed.

He never said Arabic - he said "foreign"

It depends on which news source you look at.

The store's owner Robbie Abell told the Journal: 'The questions he was asking were not the normal questions a normal person would be asking…He just seemed very odd.'
Abell also said Mateen was speaking to someone on the phone in Arabic and was walking around the store texting.

CNN used "foreign language" in an article. Arabic is a foreign language.

At least we have advanced from those days. Not all ( think North Carolina). but a huge move forward

In an interview broadcast on CNN about a half hour ago, he said "foreign language".

Who knows what he said when he first reported it? He had no information about the identity of the person and no video. (You would think a gun store would have cameras, but apparently this one does not.)

I agree. She was with him for the purchase/s. She knew IMO it was going to happen at some point. If he kept the weapons and ammo at the apt. all she had to do was look every time he was gone for hours. I still wanna know how he got to the vehicle rental office.

I am certainly not condeming vioilent behaviors but IMo it behooves us to keep in mind that their feelings toward the west are not out of the blue.

From their perspective , when we, fly over where they live over there, and drop massive bombs on top of their mothers fathers sons daughters cousins newphews and friends, destroy their homes, water plants,power plants, hospitals etc etc.................

How many places did he own and how? He and his wife come from money, but in an article posted sbove, it says she had to save up to see her dying father. It does not sound like they gave her money.

Maybe some family real estate investment interest? Hard to discern any meaning into a singular real estate transaction if it's only a piece of a larger picture.

Maybe something there; maybe totally innocuous.

No doubt something the investigation is looking into.

Yes, whoever drove him to the rental car business would have had to transport guns and ammunition in the back seat or trunk. He would go in and rent the car and then would presumably try to discreetly transfer the guns and ammo from the first car to the other car. He didn't walk down the street with the guns and ammo..... I wonder which rental car company he rented from? If it was at an airport I would presume there are cameras there?
