How can you kill more people in a small bar than Disney where there thousands people outside, using a rapid fire weapon .

I knda think that we are looking at the numbers without remembering that I think a lot of victims bled out slowly (as oppossed to him actually killing 50 people in the intial assualt) and we cant rule out some firendly fire issues; with the about of bullets flying around, in a dark, crowded small place.

Disney has far more security than a nightclub.

Also Friday, a senior law enforcement official said investigators have so far not found a gay dating app on Mateen's cell phone.

Some men in Orlando have said that they received messages from Mateen through various dating apps, but some of those have turned out to be cases of mistaken identity, investigators say.

However, officials still take seriously the claims by others who say they saw Mateen in the Pulse nightclub in the weeks — and even months — before the shooting.

I keep thinking about something I read about when the investigators were inside the club, where many of the bodies were still where they fell, they had to tune out the nightmarish sounds of all of the deceased phones ringing constantly, as loved ones tried to reach them. Reminds me of the story of the firemen's buzzers going off after the towers fell. First responders don't get near enough credit.

If he was fine with dying, on gay days he could have just pulled out his gun and started blazing away before buy the tickets. Most are in red T shirts on gay days, so he could have picked red shirts.

And I think the rapid fire of the gun could have resulted in some bad stuff. OUtside the ticket booth noone would really have any place to run and hide also

Scary notion huh. IMO they were at Disney for gay days. Could have been checking out PUlse (the supposed scope it out story) that day, solely to see how festive it was at that time of day, on gay days.

On big events most gay bars change all there stuff --like shows etc on gay days, and can be really packed starting like in the early afternoon as compared to regular night MOO

No way would the death count be anywhere near 50 in an outdoor area. He took his time and made sure to kill the victims, it wasn't random fire. Plus most victims had 3 hours to bleed out, if they had been drinking they would bleed out faster. He couldn't have racked that kind of number up at Disney unless he managed to trap a large group in an auditorium.

Reports said he only fired 202 rounds. Some of those were surely fired at police. It is almost hard to believe as that is less than 2 shots a person and they say many had multiple.

I believe the part about her being beaten and battered, but imo there's no way she wasn't involved. Just knowing about it and keeping it to herself is involved! She can be a victim and still be complicit.

I think it's because he didn't .. he was fishing around dating apps and clubs, but not for sex IMO, he was simply stalking his prey.

Living 3 hours (back and forth) away to scout a place for three years? Its just not that big- noone would need to "canvass" a small place like that, for three years. Its like two rooms, an outside area, and bathrooms.

Some of the bar folks also described him as at times very social, engaging in , for lack of a better term (!) pick up flirty behaviors, and at other times very isolated - a compent of bipolar - mood swings etc

The wife also described that - in the beginning very charming a quick witted - manic

I have also wondered , been no report about it , where did he stay. He evidently drank heavily - if he was driving back home, after drinking until in two morning one would think he might have had a DUI or two?

OR it means he actually did trick a lot , and used guys to have a place to crash at the end of the night?

His wife said he was gay and living a double life, the guys at the gym said they thought he was gay etc

Nothing in trauma surgeon Michael Cheatham's two decades in emergency rooms prepared him for the scene that greeted him as he walked into Orlando Regional Medical Center early Sunday.

One patient after another was wheeled into surgery. Cheatham’s second patient died on the operating table – the only patient to die in surgery, he said.

After the initial wave of victims were brought in, hospital staff stabilized those patients and restocked supplies. Then, just past 5 a.m., a new wave of injuries started to rush in, after police killed the shooter and located more victims inside the club. Cheatham shifted to an administrative role, creating a command center inside the hospital and delegating assignments.

Another challenge was identifying all the victims, since most of them arrived in a state of severe shock or were otherwise unable to speak. Hundreds of family members anxiously awaited in the hospital lobby or auditorium, waiting to hear if their loved ones were OK.

Hospital staff sifted through more than 200 emails sent to the hospital with pictures of victims and descriptions of tattoos, matching them with the patients there. Other patients were fingerprinted for identification or recovered enough throughout the day to say their names, he said.

You have not been harsh! Its a rough story.

We will see, but in such a big case, I keep thinking they have not arrested her - there has to be a reason for that. IMO Grand Jury is a public "calm" down , political dance. In the biggest mass shooting--- why do you need a grand jury if you have solid evidence?

The only one I can come up with is her story is matching up for them .

If anything I am wondering if the Disney "reporting" is accurate - that they called the cops for scouting behavior . What could that mean. Taking pics at Disney is a pretty common thing.

Opening a wrong door can certainly happen there - what does "scounting " behavior look like from a far on a video camera?? No idea!

Because they are using the GJ to investigate in secret and get testimony under oath all under the guise of investigating her. If they arrest her then the GJ ends... this way they are also getting evidence on others at the same time. jmo

Do we know how many of the deceased were killed by Omar Mateen and how many, if any, were accidentally shot by police? Those details have not yet been released. In the third and final shootout with police, Mina said the officers' backdrop was a concrete wall.

How did he get the rifle into the nightclub? That question hasn't been answered by officials, but gun owners have said a weapon with a collapsible stock could be concealed.

What happened to Mateen's body? Mateen's body remained at the Medical Examiner's Office as of Friday. His autopsy was conducted in a separate building, away from the victims out of respect to them.

I'm not really buying much of what the 1st wife says. They were only really married 4 months but didn't get the actual divorce until a couple months before he remarried.

No medical person called him. He called a friend that is in the medical field and they spoke... the friend said one of the things he spoke to him about is medication. CNN speculated that maybe he was trying to tell Matten there are alternatives but who knows until we find out, if we find out.

I just can not imagine why someone would ask someone who is murdering people in the middle of a call will ask about medication unless it is related to a mental illiness.

I mean if he was on meds for physical stuff , in the middle of shooting why would a friend ask if he was taking, I dont know a cholestral med??
