Muslim = a term used for a follower of the Islamic religion

About 13% of Muslims live in Indonesia, the largest Muslim country, 25% in South Asia, 20% in the Middle East and North Africa, 2% in Central Asia, 4% in the remaining South East Asian countries, and 15% in Sub-saharan Africa. Sizable communities are also found in China and Russia, and parts of the Caribbean. The country with the highest proportion of self-described Muslims as a proportion of its total population is Morocco. Converts and immigrant communities are found in almost every part of the world.

The majority of Muslims are Sunni, being over 75–90% of all Muslims. The second and third largest sects, Shia and Ahmadiyya, make up 10–20%, and 1% respectively. The most populous Muslim-majority country is Indonesia home to 12.7% of the world's Muslims followed by Pakistan (11.0%), Bangladesh (9.2%), and Egypt (4.9%). Sizable minorities are also found in India, China, Russia, Ethiopia, the Americas, Australia and parts of Europe. With about 1.6 billion followers, almost a quarter of earth's population, Islam is the second-largest and the fastest-growing religion in the world.

I thought the grand jury was almost done but it sounds like they have not even had one yet.

All I know is this one fact if true would be enough IMO for charges to be levied against her.

"According to the second official, Salman told investigators that on Saturday she said she tried to tell him not to commit violence. But she didn't call police."

She makes me sick just thinking about her. Her discussions with him probably went something like this

Hypothetical discussion she had:

"Honey you are not really going to go into the club tonight and murder a bunch of people are you?"
OM "your darn right I am"
"Well ok then. Let me just get to California before you do"

Seriously though she makes me ill. She obviously sympathized with him and his views at least somewhat. Or she would have gotten on the horn to LE.

She had to have known IMO based on what is being reported.

"Salman has told investigators she was with her husband on at least one trip to buy ammunition,"

I wonder if she's a self-hating closeted gay homophobe too. Because if she's not, I just can't imagine what her motivation would be.

  • #325
Agreed. Why can't his motives be both? I don't see why it has to be one or the other. This guy is a trifecta, since his brand of religion taught him to hate gays anyhow, and then he was self-hating on top of it, and he had bullying problems as a child anyhow...

I've heard tell that you must call it an act of radical islamic terrorism before you can mount a defense.IMO

I really hope noone here is holding their breath waiting for the wife to be charged. I mean, Boston bombing wife wasn't and neither was the San Bernardino islamic terrorist's mom. jmo

You said they can't go "sniffing around." I don't think it's okay (or legal) for them to go "sniffing around" or to spy on people just because they are a certain religion or race.

We know they investigate Muslims - just look at the arrests.

I didn't say that.

the former FBI director said that.

Leave politics out of this discussion.

And for gosh sake, QUIT BICKERING over the media outlets. Come on, people. Don't say everything you are thinking. It's not a good idea. Trust me.

This looks like Omar Mateen's handwriting.

Should be interesting to look at and analyze.

It is from 2006, so it may change by 2016.

Before Orlando massacre, killer Omar Mateen visited parents one last time
http://www.tampabay.com/news/public...-mateen-visited-parents-one-last-time/2281507

The same year, records show, he went to court in St. Lucie County to change his name from Omar Mir Seddique to Omar Mir Seddique Mateen — to match his parents' surname.

Looking at his handwriting, it angles to the right, which means he is more extroverted than introverted. He is not as reclusive as one would think. The pressure is consistent with heavy pressure, which means he has intense emotions, which is no surprise hearing that he has severe anger problems.

There is some cursive and print used in his last name. That would indicate someone who has black and white thinking, no shades of gray.

There is some muddying in the writing. That indicates he is secretive. It also indicates he is a repressed person, but not severely repressed like others I have seen (eg. Jeffrey Dahmer, John Wayne Gacy, Lori Drew).

I wonder if there are more recent Omar Mateen's handwriting.

Other handwritings of infamous figures.

Osama bin Laden's Handwriting

Lori Drew's Handwriting

Jodi Aria's Handwriting

Mateen's handwriting looks more similar to Osama bin Laden's handwriting. Lori Drew and Jodi Arias's handwriting have inconsistent pressure and frequent use of both print and cursive within words. That suggests both have highly distorted image of themselves and other people. It is sporadic in Mateen's handwriting. There is considerable muddying in Drew, Arias, and bin Laden handwriting, which suggest they are severely repressed. They have more muddying than Mateen's handwriting.

Victims of the Pulse nightclub shooting and their families can now seek various services at Camping World Stadium as a part of the city's Family Assistance Center, Dyer announced this morning.

The stadium is providing access to counseling, travel, translation, legal advice and other services to those directly hit with the shooting that killed 49 early Sunday morning. The center will be open through at least Sunday. Dyer announced the center at a vigil Tuesday night at the First Baptist Church of Orlando.

Six hundred counselors have donated their time to help at the FAC, DeCarlo said, and organizations that are present within the FAC are picking up the cost.

Wonderful!!! So glad to see services provided.

Yes, it sounds like they're prepared to meet a wide range of needs.

Just having people to turn to should help alleviate some of the stress the survivors and families are experiencing.

Bear with me if I'm posting information that has been previously posted. :)

The St. Lucie County sheriff's office has confirmed that it wanted Mateen transferred out of a Florida courthouse in 2013 after they said he made inflammatory remarks about women and Jews and then praised the Fort Hood shooter.
http://www.cbsnews.com/news/orlando...-early-school-records-note-he-lacked-remorse/

The Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee is seeking information from G4S regarding Mateen's employment as part of their oversight responsibilities.

Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.), chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, sent a letter to G4S Secure Solutions, the security company that employed Omar Mateen. Mateen opened fire at an Orlando nightclub the morning of June 12, 2016, killing 49 people and wounding 53.

Chairman Johnson is seeking information from the company regarding Mateen’s employment responsibilities, security reviews, and media reports about potential concerns raised by Mateen’s co-workers related to his behavior and possible connections to terrorism. The company is not suspected of any wrongdoing in connection with Mateen’s attack, but it may have information useful to better identifying and addressing homegrown extremism.

There are 1.6 billion Muslims as dicumented above. If they want us dead, we are toast.

I get very concerned about all of this hate Muslim talk. I was not born for the hate Japanese and Jewish time. But I was around for tbe hate Commies era.

What a silly waste of time the hate Commie era was. We built up billions of dollars of nukes. Enough to kill the world over and over again. We could have spent the money better instead of on weapons of mass destruction.

I guess we are gearing up the hate and fear machine again. I've done my anxiety and nightmares hiding under my desk at school for nuke drills. Hate and anxiety is no way to live. I would like the money we are going to waste on this doing positive things . Fear sells so I guess we are going down that road once again

It concerns me too. It bothers me when a co-worker is nervous about talking to the IT guy who is from Pakistan and it bothers me when people harass Muslim women on streetcars and in front of schools, and when a grandfather is accosted while walking up the street. It bothers me when Mosques are set on fire, or vandalized, or shot at. None of that does anything to keep people safe. But you're right - fear is cheap to manufacture and it sells.

I have no sympathy for terrorists who behead people, who blow up buildings, or kill 50 people with assault rifles, but I have a great deal of sympathy for Muslims who are on the receiving end of meaningless violence, hate, and suspicion.
