But that wont really stop anything --way more terrorist attacks are caused by white Americans - linked earlier.

That is not really accurate. And kind of funny that they 'start' the count AFTER 9/11. Why don't they want to add the 3000 victims into their little tally?

I'm sorry but some posts in this thread are a direct insult to the VICTIMS that were murdered by this ISLAMIC TERRORIST. My God, people! He was an Islamist terrorist. Period.

I don't give a rat's a&& what his sexual preference was. I thought that is what the LGBT community wanted--for people to NOT label them due to their sexual preference, yet that's all that's happening over and over in this thread. WTHeck?

This thread is about a ISLAMIC TERRORIST that murdered Americans. He told us he was an Islamic terrorist over and over and over again. Believe him!

This thread isn't about Catholic priests that molest children and it's not about white supremacists...It's about an ISLAMIC TERRORIST that murdered 49 innocent people (no matter what their sexual preference was).

:gaah:

As far as I know he never said that. He said I want you to stop bombing the h&ll over there. I feel that way, I am not a terrorist!!

The one thing we know he has made all sorts of comments --all of which were not true!!

If he called and said he was doing it for isis, wouldn't that be the same thing? I feel like part of this is a word game so people can be pc. I'm so over that. Lol

They were not counting VICTIMS, rather, perpetrators of terrorist acts? JMO

So she finds out he is in pulse blowing hell out of everyone and she calls his dr. And then, the Dr calls him and says "are you off your meds?". I can't even.

The doctor is available around 2am? I can't even go there either.

I'm so sick of him, again, he pledged his allegiance to ICIS. My opinion his whole family knew about him. I'm also tired of excuses of mental illnesses, he did the murders and there's NO excuse for this.

I asked you earlier, but no response. What do you think should be done about this? What specifically, should the US do about it? I understand your rage (I think) but I have the impression that you think that it is our duty and obligation to rearrange the rest of the planet to suit our needs. We SHARE this planet. " PC" is so trite to try to disparage diplomacy and civility. I agree with you that some of the terrorism in our world is inspired by skewed, perverse understanding of centuries old religious text. But not all terrorism has its roots in Islam. JMO

I'm partial to steelman's solution.

He either said exterminate or eradicate, ok, but how? For the third time. Who should do it, using what method? JMO

Military. Boots on the ground, supported by air strikes and whatever else the military experts decide. Eradicate all of ISIS over there, then start looking for anyone here who still thinks it's a good idea to be an Islamic terrorist.

Internalized homophobia and hate crimes

Homophobia manifests in different forms, and a number of different types have been postulated, among which are internalized homophobia

his father , for his life taked about how horrible homosexuals are --

The hateful and intolerant behavior of those closest to us often has the most profound impact (parents, church community, peers, partners).

harm other LGBTQ people on a large scale- perpetuate violence

internalized homophobia happens when LGBQ individuals are subjected to society’s negative perceptions, intolerance and stigmas towards LGBQ people, and as a result, turn those ideas inward believing they are true.

--It has been defined as ‘the gay person’s direction of negative social attitudes toward the self, leading to a devaluation of the self and resultant internal conflicts and poor self-regard.’

--self-hatred that occurs as a result of being a socially stigmatized person.” .

public identification as being gay, perception of stigma associated with being gay, degree of social comfort with other gays and beliefs regarding the religious or moral acceptability of homosexuality.

shame and secrecy,

Denial = getting married

inability to “come out”

 • Secret relationships;
 • Feeling disgust towards other LGBTQ people
Anger and resentment toward other LGBQ people for being out gay days?

Being closeted is linked with high-anxiety, low self-esteem, increased risk for suicide and general lack of fulfillment.

recognize the truth of what kind of harm you’re facing--face the disapproval of a parent, coming out to dad pretty intense in thsi case

anything other than a prison,

Depression / Anxiety / Self Esteem Issues / Self-harm / Suicide / Substance Abuse / Eating Disorders

hearing homophobic slurs at school, to being the victim of a hate crime,

negative outcomes in both romantic and non-romantic relationships. --

 • Verbal or physical abuse within friendships and romantic relationships
can lead to hurtful outbursts.

The title of this thread is "Mass Shooting at Pulse in Orlando..."
it is not about Obama's dealing with ISIS. Did the shooter have direct ties to ISIS? Did he communicate with ISIS? So far the answer is no. That may change.
This is not a political thread. Stay on the topic and please stop with the bashing of the president. This is not the place for to rant about Obama.

Thank you.
Tricia

sDid the shooter have direct ties to ISIS? Did he communicate with ISIS? So far the answer is no

That is what I think also .Thus far, every time they try to connect that dot, it basically comes out that he had been making up every terrorist "tie"

There is just IMO, no reason to believe the 911 calls.

It is frustrating that the media just keeps stating "Terror in Orlando". RIght now it should IMO be "hate in Orlando "

It also, in his final act, is doing something dad sure would not have a problem with - after all they chop homosexuals up over there, so I supoe shooting a 100 gays folks up

OK, Cnn just found one that (coworker) that says he liked Islam

THe marriage was arranged !! Dont know which one..........................

Thank you.

What's your solution?

"Over there" is widespread. I don't want young americans over "there" Airstrikes, yes. And most importantly, domestic intelligence to at least lessen the chances of cells succeeding. Lone wolves are the most difficult to uncover. It is really far more complicated than...........kill em all. JMO There is no magic wand.

The Road to Orlando: Jihadist-Inspired Violence in the West, 2012-2016

Combating Terrorism Center
https://www.ctc.usma.edu/posts/the-road-to-orlando-jihadist-inspired-violence-in-the-west-2012-2016

(...)
When it comes to the perpetrators of jihadist-inspired violence, it is quite remarkable to find such high rates of criminality, unemployment, and mental health problems in addition to such a high percentage of Islamic converts. Recent descriptions of Australian and European foreign fighters in particular have tended to emphasize socioeconomic marginalization.[10] However, the percentages here are still surprisingly high when compared to earlier studies based on larger samples.[11] There are at least two possible dynamics at play that are worthy of further exploration. One is that the socioeconomic status of Western jihadis in general has declined in recent years.[h] This would be consistent with generational trends described by Marc Sageman[12] as well as current intelligence and law enforcement assessments. For example, in the United Kingdom, recent research by police and intelligence analysts revealed that “approximately 40 percent of the several thousand Islamist extremists across the country were committing low-level criminality with offenses that included benefit fraud, disqualified driving, and even drug crimes.”[13] Indeed, as the director of Europol, Rob Wainwright, recently remarked, “the link between terrorism and crime is much more prevalent now than at any other time in the past.”

(...)
The fact remains that despite the Islamic State’s best efforts so far, the most likely attack scenario still involves lone actors (a significant number of whom appear to be driven as much by mental illness as by jihadist ideology) or small autonomous groups, using readily available weapons to attack soft targets and yet still generally resulting in failure. Granted, the situation is extremely dynamic and the tragic events in Orlando underscore the fact that terrorists do sometimes succeed in dramatic fashion. It is also quite possible that others will be inspired by Mateen and seek to replicate his actions elsewhere. Yet this does not change the overall balance of probabilities. The majority of jihadist-inspired violence in the West remains low-tech and, overall, relatively small-scale.

Interesting article. Recommended reading if you have the time & interest.

One thing I am not so sure of is the aspect of autonomy. IMHO the networks between jihadi's, including the alleged lone wolves, are far more intricate than the author assumes.

That is what have been doing over there for a decade!

Where had it gotten us - France San Bern Paris etc

Most islamic terrorist kill anyone. But this guy was set on the Lgbt community.

Now the best way to find out if he was an Islamic Terrorist.

Then we need to know if he prayed 5 times a day. Jmo.

If he didn't make salot the day of the kills. Then he wasn't an Islamic terrorist. Jmo.

Did he carry his rugs around to pray like some Muslim terrorist do.

Did his wife mention him praying 3 times that day. Jmo.

But Muslim terrorist will pray or do their final prayer before the act.

This way they try to guarantee that they will go to heaven and get their due.

Jmo. Did Omar make regular prayers or what.

 • #597
Here's where I am. I'm not in the kill them all category , because frankly we don't even know who, what and where all is. I'm not in the Oh poor mentally ill misfit category , because well I think that is bunk. I see this as the act of a self proclaimed radical terrorist, whom related to isis as well as others. I think this monster targeted the lgbt community. Taking our guns is not the answer, killing them all is not the answer. But We Are Gonna Have To Have Some Better Laws Here and give the fbi and home land security guys a better chance and finding these people. And vet. Vet. Vet . And re vet.

 • #598
Oh, good (NOT). The wife has disappeared. Gone. A grand jury was going to hear testimony on whether to indict her, and now she's flew the coop. Where was the FBI on this one?

Smh. And really? How does this happen?

One of the people he worked with said he was down on his mat praying all the time. This was the same coworker that reported him for being a complete whackjob to his bosses, but to no avail. He eventually quit his job and went elsewhere because OM spooked him so bad.

 • #600
Imo. If Omar wasn't making prayer on a daily basis which is 5 times a day. Then Omar wasn't a true Muslim terrorist that believed his religion was the cause behind this.

So if Omar wasn't a prayer type of guy in the recent days. Then Omar didn't do this for the Holy War. Jmo.

So if not. Then this was a hate crime and murder by suicide. And not a Islamic holy war. Jmo
