It sounds like the police might know considerably more than they are revealing.

I wonder why they suspect two people.

They may have video they aren’t showing or a witness they aren’t naming. I was looking at that road and thinking there must be other cameras nearby. It would seem the suspect got there by vehicle with the area being kind of rural.

Whoever it was, didn’t realize they had a home surveillance camera.

Marion officials have 2 suspects in death of Melissa Marie Nease
In their news release Thursday, Sheriff's Office officials said they know of two suspects. They did not say if they knew the other person's name. They apparently don't know the name of the person in the video, because they are asking the public's help in identifying the person.

They said the video was home security video from Nease's residence.

Now they are giving the cause of death as gunshot.

Not much background yet. I’m not sure but are they thinking male in the video?

Hypothetically, it could be a situation where someone close to Melissa was involved in illegal activities -- maybe drug dealing. Maybe the dealers were initially friends and knew where Melissa lived. Let's say a deal went bad and as "payback" for owed money/drugs, M was murdered. The person close to Melissa who was involved in the bad deal wasn't killed because the dealers still want their money. So instead the killers chose someone this person cares for very much.

Or it could be simply that someone close to Melissa wanted her dead for personal reasons and hired someone to kill her. Maybe the two suspects are the killer and the person who ordered the hit.

Marion deputies trying to ID culprit in 29-year-old woman’s shooting death

......
Records show two suspects have already been identified, although their names have not been released, and now authorities are hoping someone will recognize the third.

Surveillance video provided by the sheriff’s office shows a man wearing a beanie, a hoodie and black pants looking at the camera before he runs away, tripping over a chair in the process.

Maybe the suspects heard the family was going out of town for the weekend and decided to rob the house. Not knowing Melissa stayed behind until it was too late.

Or maybe the suspects were informed that she would be home alone. Hmmmm

Sadly, it’s no longer a surprise when I see a story that a mother was either reported missing or found dead while the kids were away and the husband was out of town. If this is a coincidence I will be shocked.

I’ve been in kind of the same place with you since this happened but then I’m often reminded of the Gaddis case in Jacksonville, where it turned out to be a local teen arrested.

Nothing stolen? Not a thief. No rape? Not a rapist. Two guys? So we can rule out whacko serial killer. What’s left?
A hit. Why? Well it’s usually about love or money gone wrong, and she doesn’t have money.

We don't know many details about the case that could be used to determine a motive.

We don't know if there were signs of a sexual assault.

We don't know whether her home was robbed.

We don't know if...other than the gunshot...if she was physically attacked.

We don't know if the attackers entered her home or shot from outside.

We really don't have any information that could lead to the identities of her attackers.

LE seems to be keeping things close to the vest.

Like shelia above, I think it was an intended hit too.

I may be wishing but LE may have gone quiet because they are close. They sure don’t seem to need the public’s help.

Whoa so now it's three guys? Including the fool tripping over the chair running away?

To me this says burglary gone wrong. Three guys to empty out the house. I am probably wrong.

If it's a hit do you bring along friends? Do ya not know there's a camera. If you have an ounce of sense and are going to murder someone you do it yourself and tell nobody.

Poor kids. Now without their Mama.

Sorry for double post.

If a Logistics company is filed under that addy fairly recent. Plus at one time a trucking business? Does that spell money?

This case reminds me of the Teresa Sievers case.

I didn't read that in the article you posted, about more than one person.

Hmm...I've read the links posted. Husband doesn't seem to be speaking to the media at this time.

I wonder what part of TN, the family travelled to? Long drive, was it spring break for the two older children? Maybe they are doing online because of covid. I don't know. hmmm...

I searched this to almost the TN border and it was a little over 500 miles.
