Here's some more details, which it turns out that AH and his dad had been on a 4 hour walk that day and he says that his son was embarrassed (I think the father may have mistook anger for embarrassment):

Dr Harrouff said his son had been eating with him and his daughter in Duffy's restaurant in Jupiter, Florida, when he got angry and left.

From there Austin made his way to his mother Mina's house, according to a spokesman for the Dr Phil show, where he attempted to drink vegetable oil.

His mother forced him to mix with with Parmesan cheese before he wolfed that down, after which he left, Dr Harrouff said.

Mina was so concerned about her son's behavior that she then called 911, telling police that he had been acting erratically and claiming to have superpowers.

Dr Harrouff said that his son was 'extremely dehydrated' because the family had just taken a four-hour walk together.

He said that his daughter brought Austin back to the restaurant, adding that he grabbed his son by the collar and said 'What's wrong with you?'.

'You could see it in his eyes he was totally embarrassed,' Dr Harrouff told Dr Phil, holding back tears. 'He reared back and Carrie said, 'Stop right there', and he looked at Carrie with an embarrassed face and stopped. Then he left.'

It was at this point that Austin Harrouff left the restaurant and attempted to walk back to his father's house.

Been close to 3 weeks now, yep something definitely is up. If unable to talk, by now he would be able to write on a notepad, or even something like a kindle device to communicate. I do wonder how badly he has gotten himself messed up.. and WHAT ALL did he take. Waiting.. tap tap tap.... :waiting:

Agreed....Something is amiss....Thinking he has brain damage, and there won't be any communicating. Daddy will be interviewed today by Dr. Phil. Get your DVR set!!!

Father on Dr Phil show said he was suppose to see son today. WAS this live or when was this show taped?
But the visit was canceled.
AH is hand cuffed o bed, but not charged with anything yet.
Dad's girlfriend said AH was not himself very quiet.

He was on a ketogenic diet and in general you can find lots of comments on bodybuilder forums on drinking canola and other oils. Did it give any idea as to how much oil he consumed, which if he took a lot of it that could have compounded his liver problems if his body was trying to process that when it then got inundated with a toxin.

Anyone catch why he hasn't been officially charged yet? Are they waiting until he is released from the hospital? or another reason?
The dad seems in denial that his son killed two people and stabbed a third.
Anyone know why he is still in the hospital?

Ok, here is a few things that stuck out to me so far...

-Girlfriend, she is upset & showed one pic of her.
-2 weeks ago, he started acting different. Gave numerous examples, but he said he worked at the dental office & started embarrassing dad getting too personal. Dad said like speaking of religion.
-dad said no roids, he was proud he done it on his own.
-dad wants to know who poisoned him, but when questioned he agreed he could have got it out of the garage.
-dad said the howling noise was because his throat was burning..

Am I understanding correctly that they are not allowing dad to visit? Perhaps they don't want dad to coach him what to say or not to say?

They are waiting for him to be discharged from the hospital. If they charge him while he is in the hospital, they will be stuck with his medical bills.

AH is still in critical condition with liver failure amongst other things, which as long as AH isn't under arrest, AH's family have to pick up the medical bills. So far AH has apparently been unable to make any sort of statement verbally or in writing, so there has been no statement from him.

Murders happened on August 15, 2016. It was only ten days later that father must have done this interview. Father did the interview with Dr. Phil sometime around August 25th. The son was just gaining some consciousness and fighting for his life. Tox results are still not in.

Agree! He said police stopped them from seeing him.

I feel bad for dad, but everything isn't adding up for me. I didn't like when he seemed to stop crying when talking about the victims about half way thru the show..but I'm not judge, jury or Jesus. So just saying...

This is a tough one. They could let close family visit maybe half hour, giving them firm instructions what they can say with no secrecy. Have a guard present with an investigator. If they break the rules, out they go. IF the boy is as sick as we are hearing, that would be humane. Not so much for the boy but for his family. They are innocent in all this. MOO
I do wish dad would have gave info on his mental status concerning brain damage.

What if he slips into a coma for 10 years would he be charged after he recovers? curious about all of this.

I think it matters to what degree someone is mentally unfit as to what will happen, but so far from LE and AH's family I haven't heard anything showing that he's got a high degree of competence as you can have severely brain damaged people smile and nod without being legally competent. It just surprises me that he isn't sending texts/emails to his family, which should be perfectly fine to do since he's not under arrest.
