There was a lot of pressure on AH to be competitive, be great, and stand out as an athlete. Some of his videos suggest to me that he went to steroid use, maybe to get more aggressive in his sports and keep up with his school status.

I've been confused about where he was living. Please clarify it for me if you can.
I think he stayed at school and was home with some fraternity brothers also from the area. It'd be hard to keep an eye on his mental state if he wasn't living at home consistently. His mother's boyfriend made a statement to the media from her house, but not sure if the bf lives there with the mother. I've read AH lived with his mom, but was staying with his father at the other house. You can see why I'm confused. He seemed to be arguing with his bio father often lately. What was that about?

He played football and wrestled — earning all-conference status — at Suncoast High School in Riviera Beach, from which he graduated in 2015. Snyder described him as “abnormally strong,” but friends called the 6-feet-2 -inch, 200-pound pre-exercise science major gentle and obedient.

“I didn’t think he would hurt a fly, to be honest,” said Matt D, the Chargers quarterback during Harrouff’s time as a defensive lineman. He said Suncoast coaches even had to encourage him to pressure the opposing offense more angrily.

We have to remember the parents are victims too.Their child killed two people viciously and is in the hospital fighting for his life. They have to be in a lot of pain themselves from all of this and hearing it in the media.

If he's been living on the college campus and only home once in awhile, it would explain why his mother told police he'd said strange things only in the past week. I think his parents were noticing a change in AH and were starting to be seriously concerned, but perhaps they believed they could still talk him into shaping up. AH wasn't acting right, seemed jumpy and couldn't even wait at the restaurant. Then, suddenly everything changed beyond any understanding for them all as a family.

Forgive me if this has been asked? Did AH have a girlfriend, most guys at this age are usually dating someone or at least pretty close to someone? Who would he have confided if he was experiencing difficulties with depression, rage, etc?

I believe he was in a fraternity and close to those young men but am not aware of others.

They stuck a K9 on him, which is my guess for his injuries (among other things like his general state of mind etc)

They think he might have been self-injuring himself and ingested something from the garage. They found what looks like some of his clothing covered in blood some distance from the crime scene.
"It is believed the teen walked nearly 3 miles, possibly cutting himself along the way which would explain the blood trail in front of the Eichhorn's home. He also stripped down to his underwear before violently attacking three people inside the quiet upscale neighborhood."

True. Although, the surgery on his hand I believe was from his use of a weapon, maybe his pocket knife.

I believe it was mentioned that he ingested something that caused an problem with his health...I'm definitely interested in the report once he leaves the hospital.

Now they think it might have been something he found in the garage. He was also apparently self-mutilating before he even approached the crime scene.
""It’s a typical garage. There were solvents... things he could have consumed and that first night at the hospital, the hospital speculated that first night based on his body fluids he had ingested something caustic from the garage," Sheriff Snyder said."

This is an older HBO documentary about 3 people afflicted with schizophrenia. Steven's story begins around 33:00. His disease began in college and his mother describes his behavior -- he has violent tendencies.

CARIIS, most of the people on flakka in the videos looked incapacitated and not in control of their own movements. How could someone get coordinated enough to attack anyone? :dunno: I didn't see any rage either. It was freaky watching how these people were jerking, not able to walk, and unable to communicate at all. Scary, and very sad to watch.

We still don't know what possessed AH that night. I don't think he was on something like flakka, but knowing what LE in Florida is up against it'd be logical for them to suspect one of these new drugs in anyone acting bizarre.

The more I learn about flakka, the more I feel sorry for LE having to deal with people on these new drugs. The thought of being addicted to something like flakka is terrifying to me.

'Devil's Drug': Flakka Is Driving Florida Insane
http://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/devils-drug-flakka-driving-florida-insane-n471531

"It's one of the most addictive drugs we've ever seen…and because it's so inexpensive, for something like $5, addicts can get high for a couple of days. And then when they start to withdraw, they crave it. The body has an obsession for it."

"We're calling it the devil's drug," Rapaglia said. "I've never seen anything like it. It is by far worse than crack."

Hi Curious!!

I am not sure of drug involement either! posted it just cause it has been thrown into the mix.

For what little it is worth , after watching a lot of his videos, I think we might actually be looking at Schizo-affective discorder.

. It is really hard to diagnose cause its blurry. difference between schizoaffective disorder and schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. The mood component varies- severally depressed with manicky stuff emerging at times.

In most instances schiz alone does not really have a mood (actually very little "mood" at all. They are blunted, pretty flat most of the time, somewhat vacant) component - its that total absense that is telling

While at the same tiime most mood disorders (not all) do not have the I am superman superpower or whatever he was saying that concerned his mother (delusinial). Schiz typically is more hallucination oriented.

He did not look like he was responding to internal voices in the brief exit from the restaurant . (gersturing /talking to self)

In his videos, he did not appear to be either, while at the same time there were peroids of rambling, in some videos he appeared to be profoundly depressed, while in others wildly bright, upbeat, conquer the world stuff.

Bipolar solo dont really see the disjointed thinking.

I was struck much more by the affective component in the few that I worked with.

I found it very hard to diagnose cause it was such a mix of more prevelant illiness. The few I worked with rarely commited to treatment. Just difficult to figure out what is going on.

I am sure for folks who deal frequently with the disorder did not find it as difficult to diagnose.

Tid Bits :Schizo-affective disorder .:

complex set of defining elements.

mood symptoms must be present for a substantial portion of the total duration of the illness.

In contrast, schizophrenia is diagnosed if these mood aspects are not present,

As a practical matter one can be diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder having had symptoms for as little as one month. A person will not be diagnosed with schizophrenia until one has been experiencing symptoms for at least six months.

many psychiatrists and psychologists tend to consider schizoaffective disorder as a form of schizophrenia.

Others, however, tend to view schizoaffective disorder as being more closely related to bipolar or other major affective disorders.

Schizophrenia is strictly a thought disorder

schizoaffective, the concurrent mood disorder is significant enough for a patient to be given the diagnosis

persistent symptoms of psychosis resembling schizophrenia with additional periodic symptoms of mood

Delusions, which are false, fixed beliefs that are held regardless of contradictory evidence.

Disorganized thinking. A person may switch very quickly from one topic to another or provide answers that are completely unrelated.

Depressed mood. If a person has been diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder depressive type they will experience feelings of sadness, emptiness, feelings of worthlessness

Agitation

Thoughts of death

Being full of yourself

Odd or unusual behaviors

Lack of emotion in facial expression

Manic behavior. If a person has been diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder: bipolar type they will experience feelings of euphoria, racing thoughts, increased risky behavior

Psychoactive drugs such as LSD have been linked to the development of schizoaffective disorder. - (childhood?)

two major types of schizoaffective disorder: bipolar type and depressive type. -

The abuse of drugs or a medication are not responsible for the symptoms. -

distorts the way a person thinks, acts, expresses emotions, perceives reality, and relates to others.

people who have it go through times called relapses, when their symptoms surface.

...... Mom? care about someone and you know something about them seems a little…off. Maybe they have mood swings, depression, or are engaging in harmful behaviour. They keep saying nothing is wrong but you know this person and something just isn’t right.

a small number of individuals with serious mental illnesses commit acts of violence, including 5 to 10 percent of all homicides.

people with psychosis (he was IMO def psycotic/delusional in the garage) seem to be at a substantially elevated risk for violence.”
