the red dot that marks the phone location is on the WEST end of the bridge and there is a lot of land there (maybe wet land) and there is a light pole near the east end... its kinda like they almost didnt throw it in time. jmo

My opinions only, no facts here:

I did not see a red dot in your photo, but there is a light pole.

I am sorry, but I remain confused. Is the photo taken with the photographer facing to the west or facing to the east? Secondly, is this bridge two-way traffic or one-way? If it is is one-way, which direction does traffic travel, west or east?

I can help a little bit. That photo looks like a google map in street view and it's facing SW. The red dot was on the other map farther up the thread but it looks to me like it would have been near that light pole. It is a two way road across the bridge and the road is fairly narrow.

Alright, I was looking at our new map, and this was interesting to me.

When I had y'all do the phone experiment, captdj did a fine one using zipcodes. TY btw, that was a great job!

Then, captdj also pointed out WATTS.

I had been looking at the woods to BOTH ends of Office Ct.

As I had mentioned in a post before we started our new map. One end of it dead ends into woods, and the other ends at a T and directly across from it is another patch of woods.

Well guess what? WATTS and OFFICE CT are directly across from one another, divided by that group of woods and the T in the road instead of a + intersection.

So I think this might be a very good area to put up as at least 2 votes for viability. This, and that Bay Lake wooded area by the tracks has gotten 2 votes as well.

I was wondering texaslil, Can you somehow number our areas of interest like pias 1 or A or something so we can let you know what captions we want with them (why area might be of interest, and/or where we feel the access area to it is, etc...) if we want to. It also might help us to easier ask questions about someone else's area.

Also, is there a way we can kind of indicate that a particular area has been suggest X amount of times? Maybe a poll system or something... add link to area info on map to a poll maybe? It could be something like A. I thought of this area. B. I didn't think of this area but it looks like a good one. C. No thoughts on this area D. My thoughts on this area are not offered as a choice.

I'm just throwing that out there. The poll could be worded however you wanted, or maybe you just think it's not a good idea, which is okay too. It's just a thought, and you know me, I'm always thinking of hairbrained ideas! :floorlaugh:

I don't know... but if we end up organizing a search or something, or anyone wants to check some areas, maybe some of these things might help?

So, if it is a narrow bridge, you wouldnt have much room to swerve in traffic, so the next question is: how much is this road/bridge used at that time of day on that day of the week?

And I think another poster offered the suggestion if the phone was powered down because the battery went dead, and it couldn't be tracked after that, isn't it possible it was found where it was and when it was because it was placed there much later? Did we come up with a conclusion to that suggestion, or is it viable? TIA:tyou:

I agree with that idea too, Pias. It could have been thrown there even on another day. I actually had an idea some time ago that maybe the phone was tossed away by the perp. somewhere else, and then someone unconnected to the case found it--someone who would have no desire to help the police for his own reasons. When he realized whose phone it was, he tossed it over the bridge.

I'm still dead curious that LE was able to find it and, they made a point of saying, not because of a tip. What does that mean...that someone who was in LE happened to look over the bridge and spot it?

CaptDJ - you're a great parent! :rocker:

But maybe this will alleviate your fears a bit - as long as a phone is powered on, it will ping every 2-5 seconds.

But I was worried that somehow this information would not be saved in time for me to use it...and I knew call information was saved...:innocent:

Any idea how long just the pinging is saved that not a call?
Ive heard 24 hours but nothing concrete was determined.

Thanks so much for your reply a few years ago I wasnt aware of any of this kind of stuff. Its pretty cool.

TIA

6 p.m., not possible because the phone pinged at 8 p.m. west of where it was found (aka the bridge), in the area of Oak Ridge Road near Belle Isle. Maybe shortly thereafter, though. :seeya:

All right, that certainly would refute my idea about the cell being tossed at Nela Bridge before 8. However...

...I was aware of the word early on that the phone had pinged in the Oakridge Rd./Belle Isle area, but that is so close to the Nela Bridge, which is, after all, in Belle Isle, that I thought that perhaps the Nela bridge is where the ping actually came from. Someone else suggested that back when the phone was found, I think, so I'm not the only one who had that thought.

IMO, of course! :)

Nela Avenue is going southwest at that point, so technically you are looking southwest in that photo. However the red dot is on the right side of the bridge looking that direction, so if you're standing on the bridge looking down at that spot, you are kind of looking northwest. I hope I haven't confused the matter.

I am by no means an expert on Nela Bridge like some who actually live in Orlando, but I've visited and stayed near there, and I would walk to Nela Bridge every morning during my visit. I found it rather quiet in the morning and not what I'd call busy.

Okay after going over multiple pictures of DSJr, he holds a gun with his right hand on the trigger, a guitar with his right hand to strum, his beer in either right or left hand or both at the same time and his Captain America shield in his left hand. :floorlaugh:

So I'm predicting he's a righty but I agree that it doesn't matter. Those IPhones are heavy. And they can be chucked out a window in many different ways and will travel some distance.

Do we have a screen cap of the bridge to see how much clearance someone would need to get it over the wall? Probably would be pretty easy in a large pickup, a Hummer or an SUV (black or silver ;))

MOO

I'm right handed but I aim a gun with my left cuz i can only site with my left eye. :sleuth:

But, I'd hold a light saber in my right hand:saber::ufo::floorlaugh:

And I don't even text, once more text and drive :fence:

I'm probably wrong on this as there is so much information and I'm following a few cases but I thought the phone powered down somewhere around where the command centre at the old Jesse Black Saloon was. :waitasec:

Snail trail to follow her kidnappers movement...now that was funny although I'm sure it wasn't at the time!! She must have told you to keep far away from this site when you said that. :floorlaugh:

I read where LE told the family to focus on that area since that was where the phone powered down...its at 333 east OakRidge and as the crow flys its about 1 mile from Jesse Black and the Bridge...

Ok if it did power down closer to Jesse Black would I be speculating too much to think the perp was in route from west to east when the phone was tossed?

Im thinking by all the reports Ive read in the beginning LE was giving an area vs. a more exact location or the media saying it.

Just speculating.

IMO, if the phone powered down near Jesse Black's and the the perp tossed it soon after at Nela Bridge, he would have been moving from west to east.

Yeah! This is what I meant in my post above when I was responding to Lark2.

Sorry I'm responding to things in such a piecemeal fashion this morning.

That's right :floorlaugh: West to East.... why do I always get that wrong...maybe the leftie thing.

thanks I correct my post above...

I change my above post to show one mile also..

If the phone was tossed and powered down at the same time...I would think the location could be triangulated closer to that bridge..

So why did LE give more of a vague area? Oak Ridge and Belle Isle?
the perp might go back and get it before LE could find it if a more exact location was made public? Just guessing?

Pretty clever if thats the reason.

This report talks about both Oak Ridge and Belle Isle..

http://www.wftv.com/news/news/local/attorney-missing-woman-michelle-parkers-cellphone-/nFxCP/

Parker's iPhone was discovered by a dive team under a bridge at Lake Conway in Belle Isle, detectives said. The site isn’t far from the cell phone tower that registered the last ping from Parker’s phone.

Authorities have centered nearly all search efforts around the cellphone, and the last place its signal hit cell towers was near Oakridge Road in Orlando.

Note: there is a tower at the end of Oakridge rd and Orange that could fit the tower in this report... 336 Fairlane and it only one block south of where Jesse Blacks Saloon is located
