Slander and defamation of character are not easily proven and you have the complications of the contextual meaning of the statements made within a freedom of speech environment.

As who "would win the battle" is not for me to say and not relevant to the issue itself, but I guess it would depend on the facts of the case.

He's not going to sue anyone over this, IMO, because discovery phase would require him to answer questions about Michelle's disappearance that he does not want to answer. JMO

Do you have a link to the photobucket account that you posted about Jersey Girl? Not sure if it's one that has been posted yet.

TIA

Yeah, I'm going to post it Kamille, I just want my own upload to finish first. I told you guys about it before my backup was finished. So many times we find stuff, it goes viral, then it disappears. I didn't want that to happen again. I don't remember this one being posted at all before. Should but be a few more minutes. I'm sorry it's taking so long.

I agree, and this is exactly what I was thinking of when I referred to the proverbial can of worms. In the same circumstances and I knew I was innocent, I would do the same and not sue anyone.

If I was him and I knew I was innocent I wouldn't be concerned about discovery. Dale has brought lawsuits over much, much less.

That's funny because I was thinking the exact opposite. If I knew I was innocent and LE slapped a prime suspect tag on me with no evidence and I'd lost my job and quite possibly eventually my home and what little good reputation I had prior to this event I'd be suing the pants off them. LOL

My opinion only...of course. ;)

IMO this would not be for Dale like those other times, here he is facing possible prosecution for murder and he is correctly following his attorney advices, regardless of his innocence or guilt.

Well he didn't have an attorney for the first 12 days of this case but decided to remain silent and refused all media requests for an interview. Wonder who told him that was a good idea. Especially considering that at the time both the family and LE were indicating that he was not a suspect.

I was thinking the same thing....I would definitely sue LE if I were in his shoes. Lost job is lost income. Low income via welfare and unemployment probably won't pay the mortage. He might lose his home to foreclosure and I'd even bet if Michelle's Hummer which IIRC was in Dale's name ever comes or came back to him that would get repossessed as well. Can't afford payments when you ain't working...if he is willing to look like an idiot on PC for a $5,000 engagement ring there's much more at stake if he was wrongly accused of murder. JMO

Good lord does the man own a shirt?

Must be hard to lose a beautiful girl like Michelle to a good looking guy like NM.

I would tend to agree except for the fact there are picture of him and another girl with hearts on the title of his pic, etc. I think it's from February? That's just a few months after Michelle went missing. I posted links in the last thread but I think it was deleted.

See I told you he was into cowboys Jersey Girl...remember my Brokeback Mountain post about Dale? I forget what thread that was...

I think this pic was taken around the time that radio contest took place, you know - that calendar thing?

I don't think one necessarily needs an attorney or being guilty of a crime in order not to give statements to the media or the police. Outside of the fact that reports seem to indicate he did talk to the police in the initial days of the investigation and that we don't know what transpired in those talks, one would be advised, in a situation such as Dale's to have an attorney speak on their behalf, either if guilty or innocent. But maybe that was just another "date" from Craig's List? I don't see him being a chick magnet at this point....but maybe I'm wrong.
