I thought of Sandra Lemire. She went missing after a speed date at a fast food place and has never been heard of again.

Thank you for remembering her. I keep checking for updates but there's just nothing. :(

Looooong time... Hi everyone.

Ok, well I was picked to serve on a jury in a murder trial beginning of February. I was freaking out bc my husband & I had a Disney vacay surprise already paid for for our son turning 11 the end of Feb, was afraid it would ruin our birthday present to him. I learned so much from this trial. The most important fact that I learned is that le obtained cell, landline & work records right away of the suspect & the suspects closest affiliates. The tower readings alone spoke volumes. This person was named a poi, then subsequently a suspect, rather quickly. Personally I thought he had an accomplice, but we could only talk & rule on evidence presented. Several of us were torn, yet there was no doubt the guy was guilty...only doubt in what the prosecution was able to prove with the evidence admitted into court (the level of the crime). 1 of the jurors was dismissed bc he had a prior engagement in the Army. Then something happened - somebody related to one of the main witnesses (the suspect's baby mama) called my home phone. I thought it was my best friend as I saw the last name on my caller id, but I was mistaken. I let it go but then I searched that # on google & it brought up links to the town next to me, yet the # was a MD # & I live in NJ. Then it hit me, I found a link. The witness linked is from the town next to me, the call was deliberate - meant to intimidate me. I asked to speak with the judge first thing the next morning, was very afraid bc my home & family were compromised...at least imo. The judge called me into the court room from deliberation, swore me in, had me take the stand, then requested me to explain what happened --- in front of the prosecution as well as the defense, the suspect too! I was bawling my eyes out with fear. It was extremely scary. I explained how I found the link just googling that "wrong #" & it was a definite, not a maybe. I provided links, etc. then the judge asked me some questions about other jurors. He asked me if any electronic devices were used in deliberation. I didn't realize this but he was going to question everyone, I just happened to be the first bc I requested to speak with him about the phone call I got to my home phone. Well I told him the truth...that one person was going to turn on her Kindle but was stopped, & another person looked at the day of the week the murder fell on via her cell. Well that happens to be why he was questioning everyone, I had no idea, and in hindsight I think a tip was called in by somebody fighting for the suspect in the hope that they could get the jury thrown out. A mistrial was declared bc there weren't enough jurors left as the 2 using electronics would have been dismissed & my personal info was compromised, plus the other juror that was dismissed for the Army. One of my very good friends works for the prosecutors office and he's investigated my claim, took all the evidence from my phone, etc. they have to investigate all of the potential jurors that were in the courtroom when I was being interviewed. That's alot of people. The suspect is still in jail and he's being tried again. I have no doubt that the next time the jurors will be sequestered and electronic devices will be barred from all jurors and potential jurors, etc. Again, evidence points to the suspect being guilty but not everything was made public.

So, considering what I just experienced, for the police to name Dale as the prime suspect in Michelle's disappearance, to officially go on record in the media to say that, I truly believe they have intel to back up that official opinion. When I consider that Dale hasn't been charged yet with Michelle's disappearance, but compare it to the murder trial I sat on a couple months ago, I understand now why le can't just charge based on what they have - they most likely are holding out for a body. I look at the craziness during deliberation in a case where there was a body and that was hard enough, let alone not having a body... Circumstantial evidence can go either way no matter how strong it is, but a body helps to nail a conviction.

I know one thing, duty or not - it'll be a very long time before I want to serve on a jury again. I still won't open my windows and won't let my 11 y/o play outside by himself now...totally freaked out.

Thank you for your insight on this. Thank you also for serving Jury Duty. An unbiased (and honest) jury is what makes our justice system so great. Mikkisdad served on a jury a few years ago and was shocked during the trial that those kind of things (drug related) were going on in our community. It really made him look at things differently. :please: that your fear goes away and you feel safe again soon.

I'm so sorry you went through that, Jersey*Girl. I hope everyone who had a hand in that attempt to intimidate you is apprehended ASAP!

Thanks so much for sharing what it's like to serve on a jury reviewing homicide charges. Very enlightening. It makes me even more confident that the right suspect has been named in this case.

I would imagine that OPD has more than enough circumstantial evidence on Dale. The tale is pretty telling...if only we had a body then Dale would be tried and convicted IMO. Unfortunately until we find Michelle I do not see this case moving forward as it would be tough to secure a conviction. IMO there is some pretty interesting stuff going on behind the scenes. I believe Dale is in TN to escape the heat in the kitchen...I still have faith this will be solved before the 2 year anniversary in Nov. NGU!!! Dale is going down and justice 4 Michelle!!!

I know Dale Jr and Sr were following the Powell case REAL CLOSE before Michelle went missing. It's interesting that LE now believe Josh's brother in law who also committed suicide helped Josh with the cover up. I wonder how many in Dale's family are involved in the coverup... The Smith crime family are a bunch of crooks and liars so I wouldn't be surprised if it goes DEEP... When will one of them crack?

I spent several days in Orlando last week for a business conference. During some down time, my friend and I were able to drive the route from Dale's old condo, to his dad's home on Rose Blvd, to the bridge on Belle Isle, and then Walden Palms where the hummer was found.

It was very sad passing by all the streets/places we discussed so early on in this case. It made everything that much more real.

Thinking of Michelle today...and praying that she will eventually be found.

:bump: Bumping for Michelle. I didn't see this article posted anywhere. So sad.

'Today "is supposed to be a day of celebration marking the 5th birthday of Michelle's twin boy and girl,'' Brad and Gayle Parker, Michelle's father and stepmother, said in an email to the media.

Instead, her relatives are frustrated and upset because they can't be with the twins and their mother remains missing.'

I found another SAR site here and it is loaded with valuable information if you are out searching for a grave site. Also it repeats some of the places most likely a killer known to the victim would bury a body. Just wanted to post it for those searching.

It's immersed not emmersed.

I know, right? You would think that someone would have caught the spelling error before going to print. I believe a family memeber created this. I could be wrong.

That being said I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the message behind it... Maybe we can get Dale's new TN address and mail him one to wear while he is at his little Star Wars Jedi conventions? Isn't that where Dale is looking for Michelle's killer? Kind of like when OJ was looking for Nicole's killer on the golf courses around the world.

The best quote on that T-Shirt is "Justice: Coming". I pray that we find the evidence to get Dale arrested ASAP and those twinners back where they belong with BP & GP and YS... Those twinners deserve to be with family and not the monster who has them now. All JMO!!!

IMO those twinners after 2 years they surely deserve a little PEACE and to be left alone and out of it. Let them be.

I agree they need peace and they could get THAT IMO if they were to be removed from the custody of the person who made their mom disappear. What kind of peace are they going to have WHEN they realize one day that the man in the very next room is a VIOLENT life long criminal who has a LONG LONG record of drugs and BEATING women AND is the prime suspect in their mother's disappearance/death? My heart bleeds for those kids! They were ripped away from everything they ever knew by a man who could CARE LESS!

Out of curiosity.....what has been done in the last two years that the twinners are aware of that is not allowing them peace? Other than the fact that they've been ripped away from their mother, grandmothers, grandfathers, aunts, uncles and their brother? And now their home state!!! Something tells me that until their mother's killer (Dale Smith) is behind bars and they're reunited with the rest of the family, those children will NEVER have peace. All JMO

Being the tender age of 2 when all of this went down, pretty much makes me think they won't remember any of it unless some one makes them aware later in life. I don't think they will remember that side of the family or her ex's side or any of the life they shared in FL unless, again, someone tells them about it. Moving to another state just added another layer to guarantee they won't remember or anyone saying anything for awhile.

That is sad that they won't get to know about their mom or her family or their half brother and his family. Family is important and it is what these little ones will need growing up. I know they have Dale's family, but they need to know who they are and where they come from. In time, it will come out and at some point they will have to make up their own minds as to what they believe. But for now, they are little and free not to deal with any of it, they can be kids and play and have fun.

Actually I believe the children were 31/2 at the time of Michelle's disappearance and they did continue to have some limited contact with their maternal family until after they turned 4 I believe so IMO they will have deep seated memories of their mother, brother and maternal family. You can't just push that down and expect them to forget the trauma that they went through at that time. It may not manifest itself during their childhood years (or maybe it already has but who would know?) but it will likely resurface at some time. And then what? It's their long term mental health that is important here. Not just that they are kids who can play and have fun now. They could have done that just as easily, perhaps even more so, had they been left in the care of their maternal family in the only home they had known up until that point.

If DSJr had not been named the prime suspect in Michelle's disappearance and he had actually been cleared of any involvement, things would be much different. For him, Michelle's family and the children. The fact that he refused to make that happen just reiterates to me that he is responsible and is doing everything he can at this time to try to make it all go away. But any "peace" he thinks he is getting now is only temporary IMO.

I see an uncertain future for these children, and a court system that so far has allowed this to happen. Which is wrong IMO and is one of the reasons why YS is trying to change the way things are done with regards to grandparent's rights in situations like this.

MOO
