We've had a couple of cases of refusal to serve LE near here. All employees that I have heard of have been fired.
Hopefully, for a reason such as this, they also won't be able to draw any unemployed benefits.
Generally if you are fired for any other reason than 'gross misconduct', you'll get UI benefits.
More specifically and in my 17+ years of HR experience, 'gross misconduct' has been limited to criminal behavior that got the employee fired (e.g., stealing).
In any case, it's up to the appropriate state board to determine UI eligibility and benefits.
