I'm just now hearing about this NSB search. For about a year, I was the editor of the NSB newspaper. The south causeway features a lot of mangroves along the south side of the bridge. It is very difficult to trudge through there. It sounds like they were staging near that area. They could search for days without finding something. I'm not sure what led them to that area. But it's possible that he went there with plans to jump. But he could have left her there. I would expect him to choose a more secluded location. There is lots of swampy land between east Orlando and NSB. Some of that area has a high concentration of gators. I hate saying that. But it's reality.

This is so brutal. I just hope she can be found to give her loved ones some kind of closure. It would be sooo hard to always be wondering.
I’m from Orlando myself and know the surrounding areas well. This is a very, very difficult search.
Even in death he couldn’t admit what he did? He is pure evil.

It is rainy season and I just can't imagine him trudging thru a lot of damp, wet, muck filled ground with her. Perps are generally lazy and this dude is definitely not too bright.

It's a huge area of winding waterway. Unless he had a boat I don't see him going too far in. The staging area was an old Winn Dixie and Outback Steakhouse. It's been closed for ages. A friend rented it out at the beginning of the Afghanistan war and used to pack boxes for the soldiers there. I know of a planned hotel that's supposed to be going there. It's VERY dark there at night. I don't know how many people actually know that the area exists there. The high bridge is too busy in recent years to drop someone over. The growth in the area is crazy the last five years or so. Absolutely nothing existed in that area when I started driving that route back in '81. I could clearly see the ocean with almost no high rises. Across the road there's a big housing subdivision on the water, used to be a garbage dump. Why exactly are they searching there? There's so much empty land between there and I-4 that he could have left her, tons of wooded area. Tons. Do they know of any stops he made along the way?

Maybe LE does but it hasn’t been released to the media anyways.

Feel so badly for this family. There's a quote from Miya’s father here saying that her phone went off at 5 o’clock. So turned off when she entered in the apartment for some reason by the prime suspect?

This was at the complex where he hung himself - I believe he started at Miya’s complex this past July - although he was just accused of this incident it seems like a response to rejection pattern IMO

Curious as to "pinpointing" a ping. Bouchelle Island Condominiums are right there on the north side of the causeway, however, they are focused on the south side of the causeway.

Cell phone records show the prime suspect- Armando Caballero- was in or near Tymber Skan the day she was reported missing, Friday September 24. He was found dead 2 days later.

says cell phone pings from #ArmandoCaballero led them to Tymber Skan apartments where they found a body around 10am this morning. Sheriff Mina says they’re confident it’s #MiyaMarcano. Her purse was also found near it.

So we are not looking for any other people, we believe, pretty conclusively that Armando Caballero is responsible for this crime and there's not any other person or persons that we are looking for in this case

I guess the only consolation for the family is that it seems she was placed there on Friday evening - so there is nothing anyone could have done to prevent it… this is just such a horrible situation.
