In a news conference on Wednesday, Nov. 20, Osceola County Sheriff Marcos Lopez said that officers responded to a call regarding an "armed disturbance" at a home in Poinciana that morning involving the victim's mother, Kelsey Glover, 35.

"They tried to stop her but were not successful. Eventually, Ms. Glover began attacking and chasing these witnesses around the house with a hammer," Lopez said.

The only previous record of a domestic incident in the household was when Glover allegedly battered the girl's father and he obtained an injunction against her, according to Lopez.

According to the arrest warrant, Glover “became violent” while Bryant was giving Glover’s 14-year-old daughter Giselle Glover “a bath.”

I am confused about if the victim was special needs or just why mom's roommate would be giving a 14 year old a bath?

I wonder if the other adult was a caregiver for the daughter. It seems a 14 y/o would, or could, have the strength to fight off a drowning in a tub. At that age most teens shower too. A bath for comfort at times too. However, if she was disabled, then she was probably not able to withstand the attack. This poor child must have been so frightened.

The mother appears to be mentally unstable. I hope with treatment she is stabilized and able to be held liable.

New court filings reveal it all started with an argument with Kelsey Glover’s roommate after Glover refused to give insulin to her daughter, Giselle.

The mother’s roommate told investigators Glover took her daughter off insulin medication.

The roommate says that Giselle Glover was ill, vomiting, not eating and feeling weak. She said she had a hard time drinking water.

The roommate told deputies when she confronted Kelsey Glover about the need for medical care, the mother refused.

That’s when the roommate says Kelsey Glover grabbed the girl’s hair and held her underwater in the bathtub.

[Her father] spoke of the moments he lost with her like walking her down the aisle and sharing a daddy-daughter dance.

He called this the “most unimaginable challenge in this world.”

He described her as “daddy’s princess.” He wrote of how she had a heart full of love, was beautiful inside and out. He said she was intelligent and strong.

“From the moment you were born, you were the strongest soldier God ever created. You never let your type 1 diabetes define you or hold you back,” he wrote.

Osceola mom accused of drowning daughter trained to be child protection investigator
The Osceola County woman accused of drowning her 14-year-old daughter in the bathtub previously worked in law enforcement.

Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Kelsey Glover was employed at the agency for nearly four months in 2020.

She was training to be an investigator in the child protection division.

In the department, she would have been tasked with investigating allegations of child abuse and neglect.

Osceola County Sheriff Marcos Lopez said she has a history of domestic violence.

Lopez said Glover’s husband obtained a protective order against her after she was accused of battering him.

I wonder if the mother-daughter relationship was always toxic/dangerous to this poor young girl, or if medically abusing/torturing poor Giselle was just the mother’s “Plan B” for inflicting maximum pain and suffering on her husband, who had the presence of mind (and strength of character/confidence in his masculinity*) to get an protective order for himself.
*I say this because it seems to me (MOO) that, not infrequently, men are led to believe it’s somehow “weak” or “unmanly” to seek legal protection for themselves against physically- or psychologically-abusive women/wives/girlfriends.
