'Hit harder baby': Mom allegedly tells her child to beat sibling while she records it

A Florida mother was arrested and accused of both physically and mentally abusing her young child.

28-year-old Karyn S. Parrish was taken into custody and charged with one county of felony child abuse.

Surprised it's only one count of abuse - surely this is also abuse to the child she ordered to attack the other?

I hope the children weren’t sent from the frying pan into the fire. This woman’s behavior is learned. Now the children are with a relative. Is that her family or someone far enough removed so the kids have a chance? They need to feel safe and see normal behavior modeled, not beating someone into submission.

One of the children, younger than 5 years old, showed “signs of distress, shaking and crying,” the sheriff’s office said.

They had a 2-inch long bruise on their cheek under a recent haircut, the deputies said, and an investigator asked the child how they got the bruise.

“Maybe my mom. Maybe she was slapping me around. She doesn’t remember. Mommy tells her she doesn’t remember things,” the child told investigators.
