Two months after a 14-year-old Hillsborough County boy was hit by a car and killed, deputies have arrested the man accused of causing the chain reaction that led to his death. Investigators say Jose Ortiz shot at the driver, causing her to lose control and crash into Jason Lopez Jr.

TAMPA, Fla. - A Tampa jury in the Jose Ortiz murder trial has just handed down there verdict: Not guilty on all counts.

Ortiz was accused of causing a chain of events that led to the death of his 14-year-old nephew, Jason Lopez. But a jury Thursday afternoon, didn’t buy it and acquitted him of all charges.

Before they began their deliberations, they heard from the last witness, the father of the child killed two years ago, also named Jason Lopez.

This is crazy! I don’t understand the whole situation that led to this boys death.

Why would they get in a dispute with a pizza delivery driver over football teams ?!
What kind of pizza delivery person would go to a customer’s house and confront them with a metal pipe?!
Why did Ortiz shoot her in the neck?
Why was that child allowed outside anywhere near her car in this volatile situation?!

Unbelievable! These people are completely nuts! JMO

This is such a crazy story. What a tragedy. Is Ortiz charged with shooting the driver in the neck then?
But sincerely that driver should have never returned with her boyfriend with a metal pipe… unbelievable that she made that decision!
