The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs)

The dates listed in NamUs are confusing. I assume there's a typo in the CoR description such that the accident may have happened 12/27/2015. Transferred to hospice on 3/4/16 then passed on 3/5/16.

Date found - March 5, 2016

ME/C Case Number 2016-000357

Estimated Year of Death. 2016. Estimated PMI. Minutes

Date Found. March 5, 2016. NamUs Case Created. June 8, 2017

Circumstances of Recovery
On 12/27/2016 the decedent crossed into traffic from a center median and was struck by a Nissan Versa 4-door car at a posted 35 mph speed near the intersection of Kirkman Road and SR 50. Decedent was transported to the hospital where he remained until being transferred to hospice care on 03/04/16. There was originally a tentative ID of Encarnacion Alonzo Ortiz. This tentative ID could not be confirmed.

I found James' NamUs profile and thought he'd possibly be a match to this UID person. He went missing 2 1/2 hours away in Sarasota on Dec. 1, 2015 then his family received a phone call from him on 12/07/2015. That was the last time they were in contact with him. This UID's accident happened in Orlando on either 12/27/2015 or 12/27/2016. Again, I think the 2016 year may be a typo.

Those three pics appear to be the same man but this fourth one shown on the NamUs profile has my doggy ears kinda crooked. Is this James Valentin?

Manuel V Delatorre
Male, Multiple
Last Contact: March 8, 2000
Missing From: Lake Worth, Florida

Circumstances of Disappearance Delatorre left his residence on the evening of March 8, 2000 around 2000 hours after calling for a ride from a taxi cab. It was later learned that the cab driver drove Delatorre to Orlando, Florida near Disney World. Delatorre was left at a plaza near Interstate 4. Delatorre made a phone call from the phone booth and told that taxi cab to leave and he would be returning to West Palm Beach on the following day via greyhound bus. There has been no contact with Delatorre since.

It seems like he would've returned to his residence...

I'm confused, who does "multiple" fit in? I thought several men were struck by the same car....

I searched for "Other" nationalities...It could be they are bi-racial, not from a nationality listed or doesn't identify as strictly one race...The person could be Dominican, Puerto Rican, Moroccan, etc...

I can certainly see the physical resemblance of Manuel in the composite of this UID. However I'm not sure how "aged" Manuel would be after 15-16 years missing. He was 45 yo when he disappeared. He'd be 65ish now. Forty-five is the upper limit of the age estimate for J. Doe.

Good point! I overlooked his missing age...
