That's a very kind offer, Barbie. You're an angel for working so hard to find Pamela.

April 18 & 19, 2008

Friends and family held a fundraiser yard sale to raise money for the search efforts for Pam. It was held in Hueytown, AL both days from 8 am to 2 pm. It was very successful, and below is a note of thanks from Paula, Pam's sister:

Our "Find Pam Yard Sale" was a wonderful success and I want to thank everyone that participated in making that happen. Words cannot express the appreciation we, Pam's family, feel for everyone that supported us in this event. People came from all around, some we knew and some we had never met, but most all spoke to us of their care and concern for our situation. It encourages my heart to see so many people keeping Pam and her family in their thoughts and prayers and offering their help to find Pam. THANK YOU ALL VERY VERY MUCH.

Last Updated: 9:50 PM Apr 29, 2008

Volunteers with Texas Equusearch scoured the waters of St. Andrew's Bay Tuesday with a sonar device. They want to rule out the possibility that Pam Bigger's body is submerged.

Family members have now been searching for the missing Alabama woman for more than three months, to no avail.

Is Alabama woman in north central Ohio?
By JAMI KINTON
News Journal

Two recent phone calls made from Mansfield have authorities wondering if a missing Alabama woman is in north central Ohio. Have you seen her?
MANSFIELD -- Her story began in Hueytown, Ala., and traveled to Panama City, Fla.

I am praying that this lead pans out and Pam is found safe and sound. I think of her daily and wonder where in the world she could be. Thanks for posting this, and please keep us updated !!

Update on the family's site:
Pam's husband, Don, made the trip and has followed up on all the tips and information we had. He went into the mental health facility and met with the director and they assured him that Pam is not, and has not been, a patient there.

I was just reading old updates on the findpambiggers.com website. On the day they realized she was missing LE used dogs and were able to track her scent down the hall, out the side door, and down to the main road. The dogs lost her scent once they reached the main road.

Since the dogs were brought in right away and were able to track her I wonder what made her scent disappear, maybe she was picked up by a car. There is no mention of rain that day.

ok they say all her things were in her room but they don't mention whether her room key was in the room. does anyone know this? what about her car keys? i didn't see anything that specifically addressed them. it said her car was there but nothing about the keys.

if the room key was in the room, it would seem that someone must have knocked on the door and taken her from there. i would assume she wouldn't have just opened the door without looking out the peep hole or with the chain on unless it was someone who looked official - hotel personel with name tag, security, police...or someone she knew.

if her key was not in the room, was her ice bucket missing from the room? was her scent going in the direction of the ice or vending machines? does she smoke? could she have been going out for a cigarette? have they checked taxi records? could she have ordered a pizza and gone out to get it? have they checked food delivery records?

even though she had been diagnosed as bipolar, had she ever had bouts of becoming so disoriented that she didn't know who she was or where she was before? seems unlikely to me that she would deteriorate to that point from the walmart to the hotel.

why do they think the footprints are hers?

they make reference to the possibility that she could be in a hospital. i'm assuming they mean a mental hospital. it would be unlikely that she would stay for this length of time whether she knew who she was or not. they would stabalize her and d/c her. if she still did not know who she was by this point they would help her get set up in a 1/2 way house or 3/4 way house. then someone there would most likely start looking to see if someone was missing a family member and help them get reconnected.

i can't tell if anyone determined if there were any cameras at the hotel, nearby gas stations, etc. did anyone check these?

my heart goes out to this family.

also the thread heading says she is 42. the pic of her drivers license shows her to be 52.

What a beautiful woman-I hope her family finds her soon. I feel so bad for her son who had to go off to Afghanistan without knowing where his mother is....

I was just thinking about Pam today and thought I would bump her thread in hopes that there may be some new info soon.

I am originally from this area and moved back here in September 2007; Pam went missing in January 2008. I am baffled at where she could have gone; knowing the area like I do. The hotel is located on Thomas Drive and is new construction. At the time the only other thing open was a Brewster's Ice Cream - which opened the day of her disappearance, IIRC. Across the street from the hotel is the main entrance to the Navy base. If she went North on Thomas Drive, she would eventually run into Hwy 98 (not that far north) - there is a CVS Pharmacy and K-Mart across Hwy 98. If she went South on Thomas Drive there are grocery stores, restaurants (mom & pop places), a laundry place, etc. There is also a mobile home park - it has small mobile homes (like 1 bedroom homes). It has a gated entrance and a leasing office...somewhat seasonal.

There are woods behind the hotel, but her scent led them to the main road....it's just strange to me! People don't just vanish! I remember the day they first searched for her because I called my husband at work to find out what was going on because there was a helicopter hovering so close that it woke me (there are woods behind my home). He told me that the county had search crews out looking for a missing female.

I have often wondered if she didn't meet someone at the ice cream place; since it was the first day it was opening it may have been busy. The area was under construction during that time and is now nearly completed - Hooters, Freedom Sports, Cici's Pizza, Gyro Cafe, Taco place, Donut Shop, and Burger King just to name a few.

Bumpbumpbump for Pam. Where is she? People don't just vanish. It is time to find Pam.

I agree babycat...she didn't just vanish - someone, somewhere knows where Pam is. Prayers that there will be some news soon!

Was this case ever featured on Nancy Grace or anything show like that? Pam is a beautiful woman with distinct features (appears young with gray hair) - surely someone would recognize her.

Here is an update from CNN today.

from: http://www.cnn.com/2009/CRIME/04/14/grace.coldcase.biggers/index.html

more at link

NEW YORK (CNN) -- Pam Biggers, a 52-year-old woman from Huey, Alabama, disappeared while on a business trip to the Florida Panhandle.

She drove from Alabama to the La Quinta Inn at Panama City Beach on January 27, 2008, a Sunday. She checked in and talked with her husband over the phone about 5:30 p.m.
She told him she was going out to eat with a colleague who was staying across the hall.
After an early dinner, the two women returned to their rooms about 7 p.m., police said. And then Pamela Biggers simply disappeared.
"It's completely baffling," said her husband, Don Biggers. "All of her belongings, clothes, purse, cell phone, were left in her room."
Biggers' bed did not look slept in, police said, but it appeared that she had been reading in bed. Her open book and glasses were on the bedside table, and the pillows were propped up against the headboard.
She had not changed into her pajamas, and her hotel room key and car keys were in the room. There was no sign of struggle, police said.
Biggers' family believes that she left the hotel and either lost her way or became the victim of foul play.
"We think she may have initially wandered off on her own," Don Big

Man seeking local help in finding wife

Birmingham resident Don Biggers hasn’t had much luck in a more than yearlong search for his missing wife. But that doesn’t mean he’s going to quit.

After 52-year-old Pam Biggers, of Birmingham, went missing during a Panama City, Fla. business trip last year, Don has been searching as far as Ohio in hopes of finding his bride and bringing her home.

I saw a woman that looked a lot like her, here in Destin. It was at Walmart, and I noticed her because she seemed so attractive, tall, but gray haired with great eyebrows. She was alone, and it was kind of like we were racing to the 10 item or less check out. I only mention this, as it was a bit ago...but we are close to Panama City. AND, there are alot of ummm, gray-haired people that live here. It wouldn't hurt to make sure her flyer is posted there. Perhaps I will go and do that, this week. It's probably nothing. Still, I guess it wouldn't hurt to go see the manager there, just in case.....Our family is down with the flu now, so I might not get there until mid-week. I just can't say for sure, but I have looked at the photos. Maybe? I just don't know.
