Car has been described as both a 1969 Chevelle and a 1969 Malibu. It was located on U.S. 19 in the parking lot of the Days Inn Motel in Tarpon Springs on June 1, 1978. Newspaper reports say that the keys to the vehicle were not found.

Thanks for this. I've always thought the car was found across US 19 in front of Anderson Park. Days Inn is long gone. There's a huge indoor gun range there now, a brand new dunkin next to that and an old waffle house or dunkin style building that looks abandoned now. I wonder if the perp was at Ramada Inn bar and asked her to give him a ride back to his motel, aka the days inn, as a ruse.
Also, it's good to know what type of car, chevelle or malibu 1969.

EDIT so the car was probably a 2 door since both models are simular from 1969. I had a 66 4 door and you can't confuse it for a malibu. She probably paid for it herself working at Kapok Tree and wanted a cool sporty car. Surprised they didnt take it. Perp wanted to to be be found or didn't want to be found with it, a local maybe.

Also worth noting is this unidentified skull, missing it’s mandible (jaw), that was located in Florida. With the knowledge that Winkles removed skulls from his victims (and jaws from skulls) and placed them elsewhere, I think they need to be compared with both Patricia Action and Barbara Barkley, as I believe both fell victim to Winkles.
