GUILTY FL - Ronkeya Holmes, 29, & MaSarah Ross, 3, Winter Haven, 18 Oct 2009

Bumping again for Masaraha, still can't find any new info on this case.

Bumping up.
Another Polk County case.
Nothing recent in the news.
Sheriff Grady Judd found Mr Shakespeare, RIP.
We need Masaraha Ross & her mother back in the news also.

This case has a horrible smell about it. I question whether the child was ever with the mother. Dad needs to be leaned on IMO.

Bumping for Masaraha Ross and her mother, Ronkeya Holmes

Interview with Masaraha's father, Lester Ross:

http://www.theledger.com/article/20100203/VIDEO/2032000

In the interview, Lester said he asked about the results of his (7) polygraph(s)-
"Well how did it come out? He say, well it's uh in-inconclusive but can we kee..can we do it two more times? Can we just do it ...nah I mean that's mm-mmh(shakes head no) cause i'm gettin agitated now. You're not gonna lock me down with somethin', ya know what i mean? You're not gonna have me ya know..."

Has anyone heard or read anything recently? My heart is breaking for this little girl:( No one seems to give a d*mn about:furious: reporting on her case. I'm sorry for the rant- I'm just so upset that nothing has been reported regarding Masaraha's whereabouts during the summer...

How can they(LE, Media) even say she went missing on October 18, 2009? Until there is someone other than Lester Ross saying this baby was with him until she was handed over to her mother, I think a DCFS investigation should be opened up on Lester Ross.

Where are the reporters hounding his neighbors, friends, family?? Even if LE is currently unable to locate LR, he's already provided some information: "Ross told Holmes that Masaraha was out of town with his uncle" and "he had a family crisis in Fort Lauderdale and that he would return Masaraha once the family crisis was resolved" that would lead you to think several people should be able to corroborate his timeline. Did the "Uncle" confirm LR's account? Do any records reflect a trip to Ft. Laud. during those days? If not-then you've got at least 2 times that LR lied(why lie?) about his daughter's whereabouts. When was the last confirmed sighting of MR?

I have a hard time imagining the Baby-Making-Machine that LR is, staying home every night and quietly keeping to himself:rolleyes: He owns a company so I would venture a guess that he worked during some of that time.... Where did Masaraha stay while he worked? Who was watching her? Did she play outside where neighbors could see?

Why aren't reporters focusing on the time leading up to Ronkeya Holmes driving down to find her daughter? She had to make that trip because LR would not produce their daughter to begin with. She contacted police because she had not heard from her daughter. Why didn't that story sound suspicious to LE from the beginning? Custody issues aside, they had an obligation to account for the well-being of a 3 year old. They knocked on the door, no answer, oh well? Give me a break!

IMO, there was a missing person before October 18, 2009-Masahara Ross. On October 23, 2009, after her sister filed a missing persons report, Ronkeya Holmes became the 2nd missing person. So why do they keep reporting that Ronkeya Holmes and Masaraha were last seen together?

If they separated the cases, I think answers would start coming in rather than the perpetual questions tied to a young woman that apparently vanished off the face of the earth under suspicious circumstances. Don't get me wrong, Ms. Holmes deserves to be found and those responsible should be held accountable.

I think if the timing of Masaraha's disappearance was placed rightfully under the period of supervision of Lester Ross, he should be the one having to answer questions about her whereabouts rather than shrugging it off on to the missing mother.

Logically, if he can't provide a full accounting of his child while in his custody, then he also has involvement in the disappearance of the one person asking questions.

Masaraha L. Ross

Endangered Missing -- Missing Since: October 18, 2009

Missing From: Haines City, Florida

Height: 3'2" -- Weight: 30 lbs -- Hair Color: Black -- Eye Color: Brown

Masaraha and her mother, Ronkeya Holmes, disappeared on October 18, 2009. Masaraha usually lived with her mother in Georgia, but in April 2009, went to Florida to live with her father, Lester Ross, while her mother was in college. In the months before Masaraha disappeared, Lester would never let Ronkeya speak to her on the phone, always saying she was asleep or out of town.

Ronkeya drove 10 hours to pick up Masaraha on October 3, 2009, but Lester did not deliver her as promised on October 4. She returned to Georgia and reported Masaraha missing on October 7. On October 14, Ronkeya went back to Florida to try to get Masaraha again. Lester stated that he gave Masaraha to her on October 18, and that was the last time he saw them.

Lester's cousin was stopped later on October 18. He was driving Ronkeya's car. Ronkeya and Masaraha were not with him, but a suitcase of Ronkeya's clothing, as well as some of Masaraha's clothes and shoes were in the vehicle.

Many inconsistencies have been given by Lester, and Ronkeya's family. There is no hard evidence of a crime in their disappearance, but authorities believe they are endangered.

So glad to see a new story and it has a possibility that maybe, after all this time, there will be answers or maybe even an arrest.

I am sure LE has looked to see if Lester R has a police record, if he has ever had any DV issues with other women in his life.

Winter Haven, Florida -- Detectives are still working around the clock trying to figure out what happened to a mother who was trying to juggle college classes in Savannah, Georgia, while caring for her little girl. Later this week, detectives will post 500 signs in this missing mother and child case.

Tuesday morning, a crew from the City of Winter Haven engineering department brought out a piece of equipment called a ground penetrating radar. They ran the equipment over an area on the side of the house and in the backyard of the home Lester Ross recently rented.

After their work concluded, crime scene evidence technicians from the Winter Haven Police Department and the Polk County Sheriff's Office moved in and set up tents. They brought in shovels and latex gloves as well as big wooden boxes with metal screens in the bottom normally used to sift through dirt.

Under one of the tents was a pile of ashes that technicians appeared to be meticulously inspecting as well.

I hope that there are answers to be found. I hate to think that they could be dead, though.

Bumping this thread...

I haven't seen anything new in the papers, but there are signs put up all over town, when I'm out today, I'll grab a some pics and post them!

Polk County father of missing child arrested

The father who Winter Haven Police say may have been the last person to see his young daughter and her mother before they went missing in October of 2009 has been arrested.

32-year-old Lester Ross was taken into custody early Friday morning in Lakeland.

[snip]

Evidence technicians dug up the back yard looking for clues after he was evicted from the house.

[snip]

Lester Ross was supposed to be caring for the 3-year-old so Ronkeya could concentrate on her classes at Savannah Technical College. He maintains he turned his daughter back over to Ronkeya at a Haines City Wal-mart but detectives were never able to find security video to support the claim and the mother and daughter haven't been seen since.
