Zarghee Mayan, who was born in Kandahar, Afghanistan, and grew up in New York City, runs a fried chicken restaurant in Orlando. He told VOA that, like a majority of people in Orlando, the attack caught him by surprise.

"I think this was a cowardly attack. … The people in Orlando and entire America, we keep going through terrorist acts like this by cowardly people. It is hurting us as Afghan-Americans over here," Mayan said. "Everywhere I have been today, I have seen people looking at me the wrong way. I hear people talking wrong [and saying bad things] about Muslims."

When my son was taken to the ER, the ambulance driver was driving so crazy that the paramedics in back were yelling at him to take easy and drive slower. When we got to the hospital he apologized to me for the bickering. I told him there was no need to apologize... he's a hero. My son did not make it, but I am forever grateful to that driver and those paramedics for giving me a few more minutes of hope.

As I am trying to land I was thinking that too. I like how they are doing it - its a message everybody better start to think really hard about playing this game with LE - your gonna get caught!!

I wonder when that FB Live was recorded. A lot of what the girlfriend says can be taken to have much heavier meaning if it was recording after the officer was killed.

I can't understand how this man is still out walking around and why he was presumably given a bail amount he could afford to post (much less the opportunity to bail out at all) for killing his previous girlfriend. I can't find an article that mentions all his charges for that shooting and murder, but I would assume that with this week's events they will charge him everything plus the kitchen sink. I did find a good article about the death of the girlfriend in December that includes some of his previous charges. My apologies if it's been previously posted.

Loyd's arrest record alone really demonstrates vividly how violent he can be. It's shocking to me with his history of violence towards women that he has no trouble being surrounded by women who appear as though they can't wait to do whatever he asks of them. It's also shocking that the officer he killed at Walmart approached him without any back up when he should clearly have already been considered dangerous, if not armed and dangerous. Not questioning her judgment - it's just not something I would do.

Hopefully, all the media attention and the growing reward will have him in custody before too much longer. I just hope he doesn't hurt the girl that's supposedly currently with him - considering his violent history with women.

It's insane to me that people could help this killer. What is wrong in our country when this idea of no snitching is so prevelant that someone who has such blatant disregard for human life can be protected by friends? It's maddening.
