Jurors have been watching the interview b/t #SarahBoone & homicide investigators from 2020 since about 4pm. The full video previously released to media is about 2 hours long. The judge told jurors they're watching an edited version to eliminate unnecessary things.

Sarah Boone is inside the courtroom. She's been watching her interrogation video, but not reacting to it. We expect her to testify in court this week.

During the 2020 interrogation, Sarah was shown the cell phone video deputies got off her phone of Sarah filming Jorge inside the suitcase. She was laughing as he was calling her name over and over again begging to be let out. She admitted that it "looks really bad".

If I were SB there'd be no need for this trial to continue because I'd have literally died of cringe and mortification by this point.

I am surprised they're showing the jurors her arrest.

Sucks to be you, SB.

Yup she's supposed to be in disguise as a free agent! Busted Boone. Ooops.

That plea offer isn't looking so bad now, is it, Sarah?

Plan for tomorrow, starting at 9:00am:

State doesn't have any further questions for the detective.
Defense will cross examine. State will redirect.
This detective is the state's last witness so after that, the state will rest their case.

Sarah will take the stand for the defense, at about 10:00 and 10:30am, depending on how long it takes to finish up with the detective.

SB is going to testify tomo at 10 / 10:30 am

I was curious and had asked why SB wan't taken down to the police station to be questioned the day she called 911 and just saw why.
What I had missed was her interview in the cop car which I got to see some of today.
That plus I am years behind on this crime.

Did I hear this right? The Defense has a witness who wants to appear by zoom (the judge denied it because the State wasn't in agreement which is the requirement for remote testimony) because the witness doesn't want to be shown??????

Witness has a caregiver? Is this an expert witness? Do we know who their expert is? How old are they????

I have questions.

I've given some thought to her son and her ex-husband.
How he even let his son stay with SB & JT is beyond me.
IMO:
Both are much better off not having her in their lives, especially her poor son who has been the real victim long before JT was killed.

Suitcase murder trial continues today. The state called the forensic pathologist who performed the autopsy on Jorge Torres. She believes he was in the suitcase for 11 hours & found 5-6 blunt force injuries on his body.

The autopsy photos were shown in court and you could see a lot of bruising and swelling on Jorge's body. The witness said he had injuries consistent to being hit by a bat. Cause of death was positional asphyxiation… ruled as a homicide.

Jorge was 103lbs & 5'2. The suitcase #SarahBoone zipped him in was 28 L x 20 W x 8 ⅞ deep. The forensic pathologist thinks he was in the fetal position in the suitcase for 11 hours. Blunt force injuries didn’t attribute to his death rather it was the lack of oxygen, suffocation

In the autopsy photo, it looks like Jorge Torres had a wedding ring on. #SarahBoone previously told investigators that she and Jorge were boyfriend/girlfriend for 3.5 years but not married.

Just looked back at my notes from the police interrogation... during that interrogation 4 years ago, Sarah Boone asked investigators how she could get back the engagement ring she bought for him.

A woman in the courtroom yelled out "is this the Sarah Boone trial?" and then when the deputy brought #SarahBoone in after a lunch break, the woman said "deputy, you should be fired." Sarah asked the deputy who the woman was and then kind of smirked.

The judge just kicked that woman out and told her to watch the trial on a live stream.

An audio recording of a homicide investigator & her partner interviewing #SarahBoone at the crime scene in 2020 is being played in the courtroom right now. At one point Sarah said: “there was no ill will between the two of us last night.”

Sarah also said in this 2020 interview that Jorge's teeth were falling out. I believe it did look like he was missing a tooth when they showed Jorge's autopsy photo earlier. According to the medical examiner, Jorge was 103lbs.

Jorge was 42 years old when he died.

Yep Defence filed a motion at 17:09 as there was a person called Miss or Mrs W who was at the court in person, together with her caregiver, wanting to be deposed after 6pm in order to provide witness evidence tomorrow by zoom. The reason for zoom instead of in person being they somehow fear for their personal safety. The request was denied as the State pointed out that if Ms W is here in person she can appear in person tomorrow and the Judge stated he cannot proceed with agreeing to remote electronic witness evidence if there is any objection.

So... who is Ms W and what does she have to say? I assumed she was someone very elderly or maybe disabled but why would she fear for her safety?

I believe this is the gist of it - that SB is going to claim that JT stated something along the lines of 'when I get out of this case, I'm going to do x , y , z... ' at which point she felt so terrified she erm... went to bed and fell asleep... !?

I suspect the psychologist is going to state it is possible SB had 'dissociated' and then suffered narcolepsy due to the terror, fell asleep and had no memory of any of it due it was a different part of her psyche that did it. If this type of talk emerges, it will be doing a massive disservice to battered women and battered men and children and people with severe mental health problems IMO.

And of course that would be the part she happened not to record…

From previous hearings, I know Owens was trying to track down old neighbors of Sarah and Jorge's to bring to the stand to talk about how Sarah was such a nice, neighborly lady. Perhaps this elderly/disabled witness isn't an expert but is instead a former neighbor coming to provide a testimony of character for Sarah. Maybe she's afraid of Jorge's family causing trouble for her if she's coming to say bad things about Jorge?

An elderly disabled lady who SB did nice things for.
