She's said several times now that she wanted to have a calm evening, wrap the evening up early, get to bed early, etc. because she was picking up her son the next day. She also said the pick up time was 3:00pm. Yet she had to get to bed because of a 3:00pm pick up? Nothing she says makes sense.

He got in and closed the flap. She zipped him in. There were joking and laughing. She picked up the suitcase and moved it around on the wheels. MOO

So before the 2nd trip to Publix they could have finished off the half/bottle from the fringe and one jumbo bottle.
That's a lot of wine just there,especially for 2 skinny people.
Was the 2nd bottle finished when LE arrived?

The bottles were in the garbage can, empty, when LE arrived and found them. I wouldn't expect alcoholics would pour any leftover wine down the drain and waste that alcohol.
