Jorge Torres' Daughter: Sarah Boone Is 'Calculated, Devious And Conniving'

Jorge Torres' daughters and ex-wife described Sarah Boone as controlling and described a final phone call with him on the night of his death. (10/25/24) MORE

Exactly. And battered, (& emotionally abused,,) spouse syndrome would completely explain why JT didn't leave Sarah Boone. He stayed until she killed him, as happens to so many women victims of domestic violence. Experts in domestic violence understand that asking an abused woman why she doesn't just leave is not useful. I believe police are better trained in these things than they used to be but still a ways to go. Jmo

As you say, the cycle of abuse is real.moo. I think in this case JT also experienced what many abused women used to routinely experience not so long ago; a lack of support from society and ignorance of the police. It was heartening but also upsetting in one of the later body cam videos when JT was cuffed on the bed and being helped into his shoes by responding officers, to see one of them trying to connect with him:
- 'I can't help you if you won,'t say what happened. I think she may have done this before,'. (Paraphrasing).

Like many women caught up in the cycle of abuse my impression was JT hung his head and clammed up out of shame and probably misplaced loyalty.jmo

Those officers in that footage clearly knew him from previous calls and I think it was pretty clear they were beginning to suspect JT was a repeated victim of SB and wanted to try and help him. I did not see JT act aggressively once in any of the LE cuffing videos. Cops followed protocol but they weren't afraid of him. Moo

He tried to leave many times. He went back to his parents' house to live several times during their relationship, but returned to Sarah each time. She drove over there at least once to demand in person he get in her car and come back to the apartment. In the texts read in court this morning, she would text his mother's phone and taunt him about him being a loser because he had moved back in with his parents at age 41.

It's a fact that the most dangerous time for someone in a DV relationship is when they are actively leaving. Someone upthread suggested that's exactly what Jorge was doing on the night he died. He took out his suitcase, started to pack it up to leave her again, and Sarah lost it.

IMO I believe she either hit / poked the suitcase with him in it to antagonize and goad him. To mock or make fun of him - as in……. see who is in charge now? See who has the upper hand now? How does that feel?

Also I believe a key question is WITH didn’t she let him out of it? It was a game, right SB? When was it supposed to end?

Attempting to blame it on drinking, when evidence is shown of her domineering and condescending nature towards JT will make it difficult to believe or accept the defense position. Maybe even make it impossible to consider?

Lastly….. IMO her actions (and inactions) which resulted in JT’s death were intentional. Every last one of them. She just went too far…… and here is where it resulted. Probably went and sat outside for a smoke break or two….. came back inside and realized what happened. MOO
Just a thought, as impulsive and how quickly her moods change she could have wanted him dead but fell asleep before there was time to change her mind. JMO

That JT took the suitcase out to leave her is a good possibility, one that I never thought of.
Earlier he had spoken to his children and IIRC correctly his brother too?
Point is she was always berating him when it came to his family so that very well could have set off a fight and he had it?
We'll never know.

She was tracked being on the phone at 11:47 pm that night with BB.
I heard there was a call to someone named Chelsey(sp)? and that she was interviewed?
I couldn't place it from what I had heard or even if it's true and if the call was made that night?

We don't know thst she didn't sit there until he could no longer say her name, until all movement stopped.

Was that a name of a woman JT spoke to/texted?

Let's hope the sound quality is better than the openings when they were standing over by the jury box.

Chelsey is Detective Kopsell (I'm sure I spelled that wrong). Sarah called Detective K. from Brian's phone the night after Jorge's death, to make arrangements to pick up her own phone from the detectives. That's when Detective K. set up a time for Sarah to come down to the sheriff's office the following day, and that's when the two hour interview happened there.

@StephBuffamonte

Jurors were laser focused and taking A LOT of notes as the videos were playing, more notes than I've seen in other parts of this trial.

I love her and she's been my go-to sweetie for quite a few trials.

According to the link [court tv interview w/Jorge's daughters and ex-wife) posted above the siblings (Jorge's children) spoke with their dad that fateful night.

Yep, and we'll never know.
The only one that might have been able to fill in a few blanks on what she was doing and thinking at that time is BB.
What I find curious is that BB was quite forthcoming with LE when they spoke to him outside on the 911 day but zipped it when he was interviewed and/or when he sat for the deposition and was asked about the 11:47 pm call SB made to him.
I going to assume the night Jorge was taken from the crime scene SB spent at BB's house and heaven only knows what SB demanded of him pertaining to the phone call?
We're well aware of how and what she demanded (video) JT tell the judge trying to get the 'strangling" charge against her dropped.

Soon SB's game will be over for her. She can give her cell roomies the pouty facial looks at meal time.
Dont think the jurors will take too long to deliberate- their only concern/need is to double check about the law, as they should.
Conviction.
