Please!
No juror misconduct.
There are plenty of alternate jurors.

Juror # 13 is a DV survivor.
How this is known I do not know but LYK addressed it the other night and he's pretty careful and I've read it elsewhere.
Maybe they can't deal with the deliberations after seeing the videos?
Just letting the imagination flow.

The body language expert video I posted upthread who observed the trial and jurors commented on their interactions including Juror #13.

OMG!
His papers and meds.
Yep he was leaving
Did the state jump on that asking SB why were those items in the case when it for for donations.?
2 of the most important things for Jorge to have and take with him.
Did no one press SB for credible answers? Just give up because she lies?

None of those items were suitable for donating, the suitcase included. Those were JT's important things, hastily collected (unless leftover from a previous trip -- which could be tested against more current photos of that baseball cap in use).

Both intoxicated, SB with her regular tirade, JT starts to pack, SB pushes him into the suitcase, carries or throws it down the stairs, probably eyeing the curb, reconsiders. Zips him in completely and goes to bed, lesson served.

M2.

Jury instructions being read.

SB testified it was a broken suitcase and she had the suitcase out because they'd been cleaning the townhome and she was purging things and intended to donate the suitcase with other household things she had put inside.
Heard that....but I dont believe a word she said. Hope jury sees through her.

Judge ejects someone from the gallery for having a cell phone that is making noise.

Someone's cellphone went off in the courtroom and Judge Kraynick advised them to leave.

From the Judge when SB rejected her plea deal for manslaughter, SB is instructed if she's found guilty of 2nd degree murder, the lowest permissible sentence the court can levy is 22.5 years.

Here are the charges. Jury can go for a lesser charge, if not second degree murder
Second degree murder
Lesser charge: manslaughter
Lesser charge: Culpable negligence
Listening to the judge SB checked off all the 2nd degree boxes
I don;t expect the jury to be out long and wouldn't be surprised at all with a verdict tonight.

Is it just me or did the defense attorney look a little surprised that he may have to spend his Friday night in that courtroom?

So many trials seem to end on Fridays. Is this a prosecution tactic or just coincidence?

As always, JMO.

I think Judge Kraynick knows that the evidence is there for 2nd degree and there's a good possibility if the jury has a 4 hrs+ they very well could come to agreement on one of the 3 possibilities given them.
An acquittal seems an impossibility to me.
Otherwise the jurors go home for the weekend. yes?

I don't know where that comes from. If you look up the law, it says 16 as the minimum.

If there are aggravating factors the minimum can be increased.
Second-degree murder in Florida is a first-degree felony that can result in a life sentence in prison:

  • Minimum sentence: 16 years and 3/4 years in prison without parole

  • Maximum sentence: Life in prison

  • Additional penalties: Up to $10,000 in fines, life on probation

  • Aggravating factors: Using a firearm increases the minimum sentence to 25 years

  • Other factors: The circumstances of the crime can affect the sentence

State is beginning closing arguments.

State begins: this is a box.

It's not a box. It's a suitcase.

Off to a flat start... but 89 minutes to go.
