That was an excellent analysis of the jury, thank you.
So juror #13 the DV survivor, was paying very close attention to the BSS witness and nodding, not that the nodding means she was in agreement.
I'd like to know how Juror 13 responded to the videos?
Most survivors of DV/BSS do everything in their power to defuse their abuser and SB did everything in her power to begin a fight and take it to physical levels.
Interesting that both SB & AB's (lol) juries consist of 5 women and 1 man.

Many people think of the abduction of a child or holding a person for ransom when they think of the term “kidnapping.” Florida’s kidnapping statute is worded more broadly. Section 787.01 of the Florida Statutes imposes serious criminal penalties for kidnapping another person.

The term “kidnapping” is defined under Florida’s statute as using force, a threat of force, or acting secretly to imprison, abduct or confine another person against his or her will.

(Kidnapping would be the aggravating factor I think in the 2nd degree charge) But I am not certain.

Jorge's mom started crying, a deputy handed her a box of tissues and then she left the room - as the video of Jorge pleading for his life, while he was inside the suitcase, was played inside the courtroom.

Jorge's brother and another family member are holding hands now too. You can only imagine how difficult this must be for them to sit in this courtroom right now.

Second-degree murder in Florida is a first-degree felony that can result in a life sentence in prison:

I dunno... I'm thinking the Judge must have been looking at depraved heart and mind and extenuating aggravators when he assessed the minimum the Court would consider would be 22.5 years. Also, I did not hear Owens or any defense lawyer contest the 22.5 years by Judge Kraynick.

Otherwise, it doesn't follow that 2nd degree at 16 and 3/4 years compared to the plea offer for manslaughter at 15 years would be worthy of consideration -- might as well gamble with a trial if only 1 and 3/4 year difference. JMO

I still can’t believe the prosecutors never reached out to Jorge’s ex wife and daughters. They spoke to him the night he died. They knew him before SB ever entered the picture. They never contacted them and had Sarah not been Sarah she would’ve gotten away with a 15 year sentence she probably wouldn’t have had to serve all of and her narrative that she was a victim who fought back wouldn’t have been contested on the record. Unbelievable.

After closing arguments, the jury will begin deliberations.

PLEASE -- Can the prosecutor please ask the Jurors why SB just didn't call 911 if she was so overcome with fear of JT who was already secured inside the suitcase!

Police could come and carry the suitcase away...

Welp, we know she repeatedly punished Jorge for the time she called 911 and they both got arrested, seems that it remained an anxiety of hers and since he had marks on him from her doing whatever vicious brutal things she did besides zipping in the suitcase she probably knew she’d be arrested again.

That being said I think the prosecution would avoid asking why she didn’t call 911 with him in the suitcase because the defense would argue that the police arrested her once before for fighting back and the defense is characterizing everything she did that night as fighting back.
