GUILTY FL - Savannah Gold, 21, Jacksonville, 2 Aug 2017

Alert for those that do not want to read an autopsy report. And the next two or three post I will be posting the autopsy results that I have obtained. I do not see anything about any drugs, and I intend to possibly reach out to the media that said that drugs were in her system because I do not see that at all. I can't remember which media Outlet said that at this time but I will have to go back into the threads.

ETA, I am thinking that the publication that said that there were drugs in her system, and misled some people to think it possibly was heroin, were looking at the toxicology and seeing ethanol, which all of us here know that is a result of normal decomposition. I have reached out to them as of yesterday before I even saw these results, but I will send these results to them and ask again. I hope they do a retraction on that article that they did that said she had drugs in her system. She did not she did not have drugs in her system according to the autopsy report.

ETA #2, it was jacksonville.com, The Florida Times-Union that made this error m o o, I have contacted the person that wrote this and ask them to correct this, or rewrite to explain what they are talking about as to the alcohol, which is normal decomposition product

This is the defendant's (Lee Rodarte's) 7-22-19 motion to dismiss based on a "stand your ground" defense argument - in it he explains his version of events inside the vehicle and says she told him she had just done heroin prior to coming to work. That's probably where you got it from?

I got this from Duval's county clerk of court's website - core.duvalclerk.com

I’m just so furious for her family. Thank you, DixieGirl for clearing that up for her name and her family. And welcome to Websleuths, Friends of Mine, thank you for sharing that link.

Yes, this, meaning, victim-friendly. There is zero reason to physically think she would be capable of overpowering him, keeping him from escaping a vehicle, and then him choosing to strangle her, send false texts making up a random story, driver her body to another location, and desecrate her like he did. I can’t even believe someone would support these outrageous claims when none of this information was given as the original story.

Yeah, his defense sounds like bunch of cow poop. As I said earlier, nobody is going to believe that crap.

Thanks dixiegirl1035 for posting the autopsy report, which clearly says they tested for a lot of drugs and only found ethanol. There were only three days between her being missing & her being found. From random googling, it seems like the heroin breaking down in her body into the heroin metabolites would stay longer than that. I don’t think burning her would affect anything. If they had enough blood/tissue/whatever to test for ethanol, then they had enough to run all the tests. IMO.

I don’t think this defense is going to work. It sounds so ridiculous to me and hopefully a judge & jury will agree. At the very least, the prosecutors should have dummies to compare their actual sizes. She was a tiny little thing.

Regardless of what a victim did or did not do while alive, the murder was not their fault. If Lee was being truthful, this would have been solved in that parking lot, with police called and a stand your ground case brought then and there. This thread has been open since she went missing and no one came forward with this information anywhere until Lee tried this approach in court. He used other excuses and reasons before this, so that is where my sadness and anger for her family comes in with reading this now when none of this was in the news, gossip even, autopsy report, and no verified insiders here from the beginning with this alleged information. I don’t know Savannah, I did used to frequent that restaurant, but didn’t personally know any staff. I don’t judge what she may or may not have done in her life, but I do believe if this information was true it would have been all over our local news at the time it happened and Lee would have called the police instead of doing exactly what he did, which is having murdered her, sent false texts, came up with a plan to drive her elsewhere, and try and eliminate all trace of her. That is not the behavior of someone who is “stood his ground.” That is guilt covering up a murder. MOO.

The article has been updated and it says now that the drug was NOT found in her system.

"In documents filed Tuesday, Rodarte said the two parked near one another and that Gold asked if she could talk with him in his vehicle. He said she told him she had just done some heroin and wanted to sit in the back seat because she was feeling paranoid. The autopsy report does not indicate a presence of the drug in Gold's system."

Yes, her family and friends...or anyone should not have to have consideration for his lies and drivel.

That's how it all starts. He tells his girlfriend a lie. His girlfriend tells her friends and coworkers what he said and they take it as the truth. Moo.

If you have the inclination, I would suggest listening to his interview starting at about 27 minutes in through 55 minutes. He gets so tied up and flustered and cannot answer a direct question as to his interactions with Savannah that day, and his other co-worker girlfriend CS ( again, so similar to CW and NK dynamics in SW case, even down to both men deleting thier Facebook one month prior to the murder) Moo

New filings at CORE - Clerk Online Resource ePortal

One is a subpoena for the forensic doctor for the defense mentioned above, the other two are for the state's third supplemental discovery - that they intend on bringing in the employee policies handbook as evidence.

Said in my best Nancy Grace voice, BOMBSHELL!

Yesterday, He filed under Florida's stand your ground law! Self-defense!

And is asking for immunity and for the charges to be dismissed.

He said he strangled her in the car and broke her neck ("heard her neck pop"), but it was self-defense.

I can't figure out how to download an attached as a PDF here as some people do, so I'm going to do multiple screenshots.

He has also said that he is going to be calling two people for his defense, one is a Doctor Wiley ( forensic pathologist who does trial work
Edward Willey MD Curriculum Vitae | Edwilleymd )

and the other one is someone I've never heard of before with the initials SE.

I'm not sure I can upload 6 jpegs in one post so I may have to do a couple of posts for this.

The individual (SE) that has been called for the defense in screenshot above (that is not the forensic doctor) was known to be associated with Savannah in 2015. ( in reading terms of service, we can reference Savannah law enforcement items)

Not sure how this plays into his defense in calling this person as a defense witness. Both SE and Savannah can be seen on the County website for the same misdemeanor in 2015 on her filing at court site.

Perhaps the defense team is trying to Sully the victim because she shoplifted when she was a teenager, and Associate such with her murder. SMH! I hate it when defense does stuff like that. That is so trivial. In my opinion.

It will be interesting to see the media accounting of this today, if they are covering it. I have yet to see two important people being deposed yet. The roommate that he had, and a triangle girlfriend that lives in Atlanta now I have not seen the defense say that they have been deposed. Everyone else has. MOO Interesting that they have not been deposed yet and today is the self-defense hearing. Both were at the house later in the evening after the murder according to his interrogation.

As we know, a defense attorney cannot lie in court if they know for a fact that something is not true. But if they never depose somebody, they could claim that they did not know?

I do hope these two individuals will testify, honestly.
