GUILTY FL - Sebring: Mass Shooting SunTrust Bank 1/23/19 - 5+ killed - shooter Zephen Xaver in custody

Motive here is crucial if the deaths are not to be in vain. If indeed he "always hated people" and "wanted everyone to die," it's a puzzler why he only killed women. Ana, Cynthia, Marisol, Jessica - rest in peace; and let's hope, all, that, for their sake, we as a society learn from this, and can correct the course from which this monster strayed.

Police reveal all five victims of the Florida bank mass shooting were women

[bbm]

why is it puzzling?
the six people in the bank at the time just happened to be women & five of them were within shooting distance so he killed them
I'm sure if any of them had been men, he would've still shot at them

I live in sebring (my page says Orlando just to protect who I am, but now.. I don’t even care..) and have for nearly 10 years. I personally did not know any of the women, but our small community has been rocked to it’s core. When it first broke on the radio and social media, it was a bank robbery. Then turned into an active shooter situation. No one knew how many had been shot/injured/killed. I knew something bad was going on when the live news showed the EMTs going in with gurneys and coming right back out empty.

I, too, wonder what his motive was. I work in customer service and now my anxiety is extremely high. What if I don’t make a customer happy? Are they gonna come in guns blazing? Our law enforcement here.. they’re awesome. 2 MINUTE response time! With the bank on the busiest road in sebring during lunch hour. I heard the sirens at a gas station not far from the bank not long after 12:30 pm on Wednesday. They were quick to shut US 27 down.

This is the kind of stuff you never think happens in your town. And yes, there was a 6th person in the bank. He ran out of the back. I can’t even imagine the survivor’s guilt that he’s got.

I just hope they give him the death penalty for executing 5 innocent people. He was smug in the unofficial mug shot, and smug in his official mug shot.. not so smug at his first appearance.

Thank you every one for your prayers. Our little town needs them.

Tired of working is my guess. Now he will receive a lifetime of services paid for by the taxpayer. Lots of online gaming in prison, along with free room and board, free medical dental and no work for the rest of his life (50 years or so). Absolutely no fear of death penalty. I am hearing this more and more. They don't want to work and DO NOT fear going to prison. JMO, MOO.

I really hope he will not have access to online gaming! Please let his life in prison be as bleak as possible.

I don’t know how to bold on my phone, but yea I heard today they will not Re-open that branch, only the branch by the Walmart will stay open. They discussed it with family of the ladies and that’s what they decided on.

It’s gonna be miserable. It’s cold and raining all day. I won’t be at the ones around 1 pm, but I’ll be at the one at 6.

The families of these women will be put through even more hell when the killer gets his trial. I know that many people on social media expressed how they wish he had either killed himself or been killed by the police. I can’t say that I disagree. This is one case where I wish the perpetrator would just plead guilty and spare us all the dramatic defense BS tactics that will likely follow. I grew up and lived in Sebring many years and this SunTrust was my bank, and I just hate what has happened and continue to pray that these families find peace in spite of this tragedy. Sorry for rambling, this is just such a waste of human life it’s hard to process.

While I hope he gets the harshest punishment, part of me hopes he will just.. take a plea or something so they don’t have to go through a trial. The families have been through enough.

I’m so sorry for the victims who innocently lost their lives. And my heart goes out to their loved ones as well.

It’s just so wrong....you go to work just like every other day, or you go to the bank to make a deposit just like any other day, and then you’re shot dead in the bank by some nutcase with a gun. So very sad. Damn. It’s just so random.

Another young white male that has a history of instability with work, military failure, with friends reporting seeing concerning behavior/statements, had known access to guns ...

When will this country decide to invest in mental health resources for families?!

  • #119
He need stop work every day of his life and pay taxes and have the money sent to the families of his victii.s or a research fund to stop the violence.

Imagine the terror of lying there, while one by one he executed them. Innocent lives, ended by a demented lunatic.
