No words. I think if I owned a Bible I'd get rid of it.
If I may, it is not the Bible that is the problem. It is the evil humans who interpret it for their own purposes. They think they they do God’s work. They do not. IMO

(The above is not in the Bible, btw)

Each “brand” or sect or offshoot interprets it to mean something different

Their version of the "Cherry Pick" bible.

I mean, sure, I guess they can. But the offshoots don’t generally say that molesting children is OK. I think it doesn’t take much from a functioning adult to say this isn’t the prime preaching of any actual positive religion. It’s called saying they are something purely so that they get an opportunity to abuse. Call Stu this with many topics not just Christianity. They use them as a way to control people and create generational abuse and problems that people continue to control. You don’t have to believe in Christianity to say the situation isn’t about the topic they’ve centered on. It’s about abuse and control and being a cult
Every religion seems to have an aspect of control
Women or children or both
I hear the word preacher, priest, bishop, youth leader, youth pastor, mormon bishop and minister mention daily in crimes against both, especially children
A way to hide and have access while virtue signaling

I disagree, but I edited my post because this conversation doesn’t belong here. This is about the crime that occurred. I’m choosing to not engage here, I would elsewhere, I apologize for initiating.

Many of us can follow the crimes religion has a huge part in without taking it personally or shying away from facts

I respectfully disagree. It's good information for people who may not know much about Christianity or the different sects, denominations, etc.

These people should be designated as a danger to young children.

On the topic of religion I will say only this: religion didn't abuse children. Evil men using religion to excuse their own actions and intimidate victims did.

I do believe the household the Duggar children were raised in played a direct role in both Josh and Joe becoming child sexual abusers. And like it or not, much of how those 19 children were raised is/was rooted in a very narrow patriarchal religious viewpoint. That doesn't mean all religion is bad or the bible is bad. It just means bad men did bad things. MOO
