Maybe sitting was arranged with SB and she was already IN the house? Making an abduction not bold at all, but remarkably easy.

Who do you mean? She's been described as a babysitter for three threads now.

Only because Susan Baker called herself that. Neither parent worked, why would they need a babysitter?

MOO is that SB proclaimed herself as the babysitter. Very evident in her MS blog that she had a habit of picking up nieces/great nieces for them to spend time with her - it always seemed to put her in a blessed mood. One would only hope that all the children named in her blogs are being checked and if old enough to communicate that they be gently asked some questions about their stays with Auntie SB.

IMO, the couple trusted the wrong 'helper'

Yes, the Baker home is in Chipley - Orange Hill Road and that is where SB lives along with James and the birds.
So THAT'S what I was missing. Thank you. I knew there was something.

I think she called herself the "babysitter" also as a reason to have Shannon away from her parents. I could call her something much worse than a babysitter but I don't want to get a T/O. This woman is an oportunist. I'd like to know how much she had to do with the parents before Shannon was born or did all of her contact start then?

Okay, here we go and I am not even going to try and look up the spelling ... going to do it by ear .... manchausers syndrome - from what is known about SB thus far, does anybody know if SB exhibits any of the normal markers to be considered to have this syndrome?

Oh good question! Makes a HUGE difference!

Do we know if either of the parents ever worked after Shannon was born?

Ya, rumour has it that Rusty is the adopted brother of SB. Would love to see a picture of Rusty.

There is a Rusty, Sr. and a Rusty, Jr. right? Senior is the one SB had a Power of Atty with that was terminated in 2005 and rumored to be the adopted brother. Junior is Shannon's father. (Or not according to SB's letter to the governor.)

I'd have to say there was some contact prior to Shannon's birth just based on the POA that SB had ... that information is back on Thread 1 and I can't remember which sleuther found it...sorry.

I do wish they had a smiley pic of her though. O/T but it seems like often times (not always) when kids go missing the pictures are odd in some way or outdated, as if they didn't have many to choose from or something.

I would assume that when there are multiple pictures readily available, the factors in choosing them would be 1) as clear as possible, 2) as recent as possible, and 3) natural expression -- i.e. *not* with a huge smile. A smile can make a face look very different, and it's so unlikely that a recently abducted child would be sporting a big smile, that it wouldn't be helpful in getting people who might spot the child in passing, or have spotted the child in passing before seeing the photo, to make the connection. (And if a recently abducted child *is* sporting a big smile, errrr, maybe better to leave well enough alone, because there must have been a *big* problem with the home the child was in.)

ok, I've tried reading every single post in each thread - (I usually try to catch up before I post but I'm finding that impossible tonight - so much has happened since I was last online!)

hope this hasn't already been mentioned ...

I've looked at this person's ms & I think she's a scam artist in some way, shape, or form

either that or she has multiple (about 90+) personalities

for those of you who understand the trolling that happens online & esp. at ms, and how ppl. will use several multiple acc'ts to trick, deceive, troll, etc.; check out all her friends after say, the 27th one (they're all private so there's nothing to see on the pages themselves) and check out their last log-in dates :waitasec:

those 90+ 'friends' are all 'fakes'! - they're all really her pretending to be someone else ... interesting to say the least (echoes of KC)

this is all just my conjecture and based only upon my experiences online and with scam artists in general

Can anyone confirm that SB claimed that TM told her she wished her daughter would disappear.

-or-

that SB said, “I loved that child,”

Both statements were apparently made in an interview, but I have seen no such interview.

If so, whats with the past tense "loved" ? Does SB know something the rest of us don't?

I don't think I can post the source....very new here  and still trying to figure out the in's/out's.

I was thinking about that earlier too, here's some info. 2 different forms of the disorder. eta: after reading these I'm not so sure.

I just knew that I had that arse backwards - you right and this makes sense.

I don't think so, but I'm no expert. I think this woman is like Huckaby in some ways. Controlling personality that harms kids and tries to make it look like it is someone else's fault. Actually more complicated than that, but I'm tired.

Man. Syn and Man. Syn by Prox have more to do with making the self or a child sick so they can take them to the doctor and get lots of attention. I think Huckaby has Man. Syn. in that she does things to herself all the time so she can get attention - BUT it does not cross over to the child. So far, we have not seen where SB tries to make herself or another sick for attention. We have just seen where she harms others - to me that is a control issue.

JMO,

Salem

At least we've not heard the term "nanny" yet in this case! :waitasec:
