Putnam County Sheriff's Office Maj. Gary Bowling has worked the Haleigh case.

Somer's grandmother is Debbie Bowling.....wonder if any relation?
hmmmm... someone posted earlier that on the mother's ms it says she is the daughter of an investigator (or some such term)... is interesting eh?

Chart doesn't look good...
NO it doesn't - it sounds like the abductors could be the same people who tried to abduct the other little girl.

Just went and picked up my oldest from school and heard on the radio coming home that the FBI has been called in..any other developments since late morning?

Still praying for a good outcome. Come home safe Somer! :rose:

Exactly what I was thinking... And if that be the case, I can't imagine someone not having seen this vehicle since these people seemed to have remained in the area after the botched earlier abduction.

Praying really hard for this beautiful little girl!

Maybe LE should check motels/campgrounds to see if there has been a vehicle to fit this description?

Need to get the word out in McIntosh Florida! If it is the same car - people down there need to be on the lookout. I believe in the astrologers charts - they are always right on target.

Could you do an update of your map and bump it up for everyone to see. If you will please add a Crossing Guard at (1.)Gano and Miller St/Fromhart (2.) Grove Park and Gano and (3) DeBerry Ave. and Gano. Also a Deputy in marked car with lights flashing at #2. That's three crossing guards and one Deputy in a three block area she walked in and only the first crossing guard is reported to have seen her. It's like she vanished into thin air. Did NOT hear this from LE just people hanging around. You can see from DeBerry all the way to Miller St. no problem.

Thanks,
GrannyL

I'll admit, I do not understand most of what the astrology charts say, but in reading the comments for Somer's chart, it does not sound good. It does sound like it could be the people who attempted to kidnap another child earlier this month. Ugh, travelers, a pedophile. Also, interesting to note the need for cash and an attempt to refuel the vehicle. If this chart is correct, it might be a good idea to put up fliers at all the gas stations around 295, 95 and 10, if these people are trying to get out of town. I wish I could be there to do it.

Still praying for Somer...

Let's please refrain from blaming the family for now. There is no evidence she was hanging out with SOs or anything. I know it is easy to want to lash out because we see so many crappy parents these days, but we have no evidence she is like that at this juncture.

When I looked at her MS, I noticed she said she would have to "take out a loan" to go to the movies. Perhaps after school care wasn't affordable to her.

When I had two young kids, my job wouldn't let me take off for ANYTHING. I had to use my lunch hour to see my oldest son's middle school graduation! Some jobs are like that and in this day and age, people need to hold on to what they get. It SUCKS. I was paying a fortune for child care for my youngest son and my oldest had to walk a long way. I was sick about it every day for a long time and then some friends who owned a book store that went to my church offered to let him go there after school. I was so thankful as I had no family nearby to help me and latchkey care cost as much as full-time care for my younger son! Due to "insurance" and such, I was told!

We don't know this mother's situation. I'm not a partier at all and yet, I can't judge her unless I learn more about her circumstances.

As for the walking home, if this is a situation at all these schools, then perhaps the people who are home could be "watchers" after school. I wouldn't mind opening my door or windows to watch kids in my neighborhood walk home safely! We need to start thinking outside the box to solve this problem!

Thanks so much for this advice Kimster - judging mom and all those who love this beautiful child is counterproductive to bringing her back. The fact that mom searched for daughter for over 2 hours before telling the police shows me how frantic she must have been...seems mom never thought of an abduction. Only in ones worst nightmare can a child be taken by a stranger. mho

I'm wondering if there were any businesses in the area that may have had security cameras that possibly caught something on tape? I know that would be a million to one chance but you never know.

McIntosh Florida is a small town (according to City-Data) was only about 500 people in 2008. The nearest bigger cities (with media outlets) would be Gainesville Florida (which is about 15 miles away) and Jacksonville Florida (about 70 miles away). So, to get the word out in McIntosh your best bet is going to be to go through Gainesville media outlets. I'll see if I can find any that aren't reporting Somers story yet (and the car details) and email them.

It's not about judging,it's the fact the child was on her way home and didn't go there. She had one time went to a friend's house and if that friend's house was called and she wasn't there,LE should have been contacted immediately. The fact is the older sister, only 10 years old will always feel responsible.Kids should not watch kids,if the mother was at work, adult supervision should be supplied to walk kids home.It is neglect in any case to leave children alone, ever, anywhere,at any time. Most people live with 20-60 sexual offenders in thier surrounding areas,so you can bet, there's more than that are not caught. They stalk kids and kids left alone anywhere are in danger of being abducted.

I'm really hoping so too, or even an eyewitness that maybe would've seen her picked up. Anything right now would be helpful. The thought of her vanishing into thin air is horrible :(

GrannyL -

Thanks for this.

Do you happen to know if the kids walked on the west or east side of Debarry? And at what point they crossed Gano?

Thanks!
