Sorry to say walking didn't accomplish much in the way of good health for Somer. IMO those children were too young to make that mile plus walk without an adult.

Which makes me wonder ... were any of the adults quoted in media whose children new or saw Somer that day ... were any of the adults walking with these kids?

Do any adults walk with these kids sometimes?

FYI-- the entire case and cast of characters is speculation, except for the very few facts that we have. LOL

What link would you like? If it's DT's pics-- sorry it is against TOS to post those here, however on day one on thread one they did appear briefly, so your statement that NO ONE can see is not true, a lot of us did see and a lot of us did save. Some are still out there for all to see--- sleuth around on MS and FB... they were out there earlier today.

I take it the sarcasm in your posts to me is a direct result of you NOT looking at the photos yourself, am I correct? I wouldn't worry too much about that, they will probably be slapped on the front page of the tabloids before long. Always someone wanting to make $$$.

Also- before I forget if you do a search on Cam's posts you will find all of the tank/s photos she posted for us, and that thread will have a lot of information about the area surrounding the tanks.

If I can assist with any other links or additonal information to help you, please let me know. I enjoy team effort.

:)

That would be great.

Thanks.

TX, does that mean each house does not put out their garbage individually?

The entire family and the friend SP were contacted and mobilized to search for Somer. Details about how each and every one of them was contacted has been written out in the police report and talked about in media interviews. Except one.
Also, the early media reports said that Diena stopped by the OPAA on her way home to pick up the oldest son. Later, Diena says in a TV interview that he was at the OPAA looking for Somer.
In that same TV interview, after she flagged down the police officer (because, she says "I didn't know what else to do."), and they went to the OPAA and the video went black for a few seconds.
She shrugged her shoulders when she said "I didn't know what else to do" and it almost seemed as if she was trying to justify her actions or apologize for flagging down the police officer.

The shrugging of the shoulders seemed out of place. Her words "I didn't know what else to do" struck me as odd. He apologetic demeanor seemed incongruent with the situation.

Didn't know what else to do...?
Wonder why it didn't enter her mind on that long drive home to call 911?

Also curious as to why the officer just happen to be right there in that area during that time frame? Was he patrolling that area or called to the area? That hasn't been disclosed either.

I'm not an active Sleuther I guess, but I have been reading... for years... and posting here and there.

With that said... what kind of garbage cans do they have there? In my neighborhood we each have one garbage can. It is paid for by size, so most people buy the smallest one they can. Its not actually a can either, its a plastic cart. Coincidentally, my garbage day is Tuesday morning. Do they have once a week pick up? If so, the average house in my neighborhood would already have a full recepticle by Monday... so maybe they can focus on houses with less than full carts? Certainly the garbage man gets to know a neighborhood like the mailman/woman does...

just thinking...

[bolded by me]

gosh melley - you make a great point. Those who are living alone or were gone for part of the week would be people to focus on. Or someone who had a reason for more trash than usual - like having family over due to the death of a loved one...I'm thinking SO Mr. Kuhn.

Sorry, just read Alexandra's reply and there is individual garbage...

So back to my question, would the garbagemen be familiar with families who normally put out a full cart, and families who might not put a cart out at all, or a lighter cart?

I haven't seen any mention of it either way. I live near a school and what I see is kids walking in groups, a few stragglers by themselves and many parents driving cars. Never see parents walking with the children now that I think about it.

It is possible the killer was waiting at home.

Noway, he would have had to have gotten her out of the house, when could he have done it?

If she had been properly supervised she would have made it home.

"Properly supervised"?

Woulda coulda shoulda..........

So tell me.... if I were to usually pick up my child on a daily basis from school, and then one day, my child asks if it's ok for her to walk home with friend A & B, who also walk the same route? I say yes, and then she is abducted on the way home. You will blame me, no?

I agree with everyone who is speculating that after Somer ran off ahead of the group, that she took a detour not on her usual route home. If it's true that she was upset, then it's possible that she had no intention of going directly home. This could explain why no one saw or heard anything - because she took a different route.

Melley, they use 20-30 gallon cans with weight limit of 40 pounds. These are hoisted into the trucks by garbagepersons

However, there are heavy plastic bins (I think at the park by volleyball area) that are the "lifted by the arm" kind and there are commercial garbage cans in the area as well.

I wish I could direct you to a thread or link but that's what I've got over the last 12 threads.

This is exhausting...non-productive and exhausting even to watch.

WE cannot actively sleuth the idea that she would still be alive if DT had set up a ride home.
Why squabble over it? It will never be resolved.

Well the one little kid said she made it to the tanks.

These children had friends and each other to walk home with, on a daily basis, no? Lots of other children also walked the same route it seems. Crossing guards and many people (children, and traffic) around. I can't help but to think that after Somer ran off from her siblings, that she detoured off the main path usually taken by them.

Since Somer had a habit of not going home and the babysitter stating she liked tree houses, and pools, that tells me Somer knew her way around the neighborhood. Also- the neighbor stated Somer was very friendly and always looking for someone to play with. She was lonely- and wandered around the neighborhood without supervision.

Predators -- hunters as I call them look for kids like this. No telling how many times this perp has watched her and was just waiting for the pefect time. They live for this sick crap.

*note-- and why was Somer hugging on the crossing guards..? Were all crossing guards accounted for? IDK

Alexandra said that she googled and saw that each house had their trash cans out.
