I just went over the astro thread and looked at the pics of the OPAA that are posted over there. I know everyone's busy looking for the slide in the Gano house pics, but if you'll peek at the pics of OPAA, there are numerous buildings a perp could lurk behind. It's not just a wide open playfield with an unobstructed view from one side of it to the other.
How many parking lots are there at the OPAA? Are any in proximity to the child's playground?

ETA: According to one of the pics, it appears the child's playground is directly across the street from the Gano house.

The pics are on pg. 8 of the astro thread.

Oh ~ I totally missed that! Thank you for bringing attention to it. :(

You didn't mess up, I have wondered why nobody called 911 . I think they thought that this was the norm for Somer, and they did not panic...It was around 5 pm when DT flagged down the Deputy.

From what the police chief said the following day, I believe that they really thought they had a child who had wandered off to a friend's home. Sadly, this type of thing appears to happen with some frequency according to what he said. They figured out it was something else far too late to get mobilized.

I think that the length of time before they were contacted by the family led them to believe this was something that occurred often.
And again, not to cast blame on Somer's family, but this is exactly why she should have been told to stay with the group, or if there was a real problem with other kids, other arrangements made for her to get home from school. She was way too little to be alone, even in a perfect world without SOs living nearby. MOO

I think those tanks would be a perfect place for a little girl to hide until siblings were gone then come out and go where I chose.
I think it was Cam on one of her excursions that reminded us they were fenced.

look what I found...a very easy way for a little one to get in here....even when locked..

Thanks so much for the helpful pics. Sure looks to me like a child could squeez through that opening between the fence and the gate. Is that in the back of the house? TIA

So that the POI (or 🤬🤬🤬, if you'd rather) can hang himself by revealing things that LE hasn't released to the media. If the suspect says ("stabbing" or "strangulation" when he can't know how she died, that makes LE think they are on the right track with the POI. If people start talking with a skilled interviewer, the hope is that they will slip up.

Also, that's how the relatively new science of "brain fingerprinting" works. They hook a suspect up with electrodes and monitor their brain waves in response to showing evidence and information only the killer would know. And the findings are deemed admissable in court.

I've talked about it before on other forums.

I think it's a very good explanation. MOO

yes I went by the school....the side on Gano is completely fenced in with tall chain link, and around back there is a little dirt road that runs next to the railroad tracks and the school, still fenced...that little dirt road runs all the way back out to Kingsley....I did not see any dumpsters there...

Hey everyone!

Tricia just posted a note on the front of this forum (it's a STICKY) discussing the posting of pics/maps related to RSO. Please go read. Perhaps it will clarify all of the discussions earlier today regarding this issue.
So it looks like to me we can talk and post about RSO's and map them when we have a child missing.

Thank you for all those pictures but I need to look again to see if I see a slide.

About the fence around the tanks ... Does it just go around the tanks themselves? Could she have hidden behind the tanks (outside the fence -- don't think she was going to climb a fence with barbed wire on top) until she saw sister and brother and then exited out the other side so they didn't see her?

Here is Tricia's post: [ame="http://websleuths.com/forums/showthread.php?t=91068"]We Can Bring Sex Offender Information 2 Websleuths 4 Discussion.Questions about rules - Websleuths Crime Sleuthing Community[/ame]

Just have to watch and be careful about the innocent people connected to and around them.
