Top of the evening to you nursebeeme; good to see you as well. You know the funny thing about the nursing home & WLK, I believe the only thing that separates the nursing home & her school is a patch of woods. I'm not even 89% sure, but it's called Doctors Lake Nursing & Rehab on Kingsley Avenue. A park next door to it that has sandboxes & a sand volleyball court. And the nursing home has a dumpster that is in an area surrounded by woods & unseen from the road.

I saw that place cheewawa, right next to rail road tracks....also back behind it is a big pond....

i thought they were no longer staying outside her house. LE that is.

i am not looking at my map right now. is there any way Somer could have gone from Gano Ave over to that park thru some type of shortcut, where there isn't a lot of pedestrian traffic (especially after school)

Correct me if I'm wrong cam, but I think she could have been lured into the woods & walked through there undetected by anyone.

I would think that if Somer were looking to play in a park, she would just go right there on Gano...then again, I have been thinking about this....if a kid is mad...the first place they will want to go is home....something about home is not right....MO

Correct me if I'm wrong cam, but I think she could have been lured into the woods & walked through there undetected by anyone.

I was part of a search team in that very same area...I do not think that she could have walked it...it is very very thick with vines, etc....I don't see it....

gyspy, that white van still sits at the neighbor of 1080, backed up to the camper....I tried for a tag#, but could not see it.....

I was thinking in a car was more likely. If she was picked up right around the vacant house/park swing the perp could have doubled back down Gano, turned R on Miller and been back in the woods between the school and the nursing home somewhere around Filmore. It would have taken maybe 2 minutes judging the distance?

Would anyone be willing to give me a quick update as to any developments in this case? I've been swamped with work and on other threads. Last I heard the brother of a construction contractor was a possible POI and LE was investigating him. Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would think that if Somer were looking to play in a park, she would just go right there on Gano...then again, I have been thinking about this....if a kid is mad...the first place they will want to go is home....something about home is not right....MO

All along I've been thinking she was probably hurrying home too. But I was just thinking about that again. If she was mad at her sister, and her sister was more or less in charge until her brother got home, she may not have been in a hurry to get home. She probably didn't know SP was going to be there either. Why would she hurry home to only be picked on again (her view possibly) by her siblings? I think this was a day she was going to take her time, bless her heart

Thanks. I wonder how far apart Ocala and Orange Park are. Looks like some of their kids teams play each other. If this guy in the video had come forward with a report, I really think that he would have attracted scrutiny. A coincidence of name I believe.

Do a google map of Docors Lake Nursing Home, 833 Kingsley Avenue, Orange Park, FL. It is directly behind her school!

There have been no POIs or Suspects named The brother of the construction worker at the vacant house on Gano is an RSO. But according to some reports has not even worked on the vacant house for a few months. Both he and his brother have been questioned by LE and provided DNA swabs IIRC.

I think she hid behind the tanks until her brother and sister went by. If she then stopped to talk to the workers at 1080 Gano, then dawdled and headed home, she could be the last child walking home from school. She may even have dawdled long enough for the crossing guards to leave.

If she was the last child on the street, she would have been an easy target. Especially for a known predator that may have been visiting his brother at a nursing home in that area.

All this after losing his long time girlfriend and having to move out of her house.

Of course this could have been any predator.

All good points. I looked at the map and it looks like a pretty secluded area though right behind the nursing home. Very close in, yet just a minute or 2 off the main drag. That's why I was thinking, since WLK was familiar with that area, he may have decided to pull back in there near the wooded area with her until he figured out what to do/whateverelse / or where to dispose. just a thought

I can't believe any school district in America has not heard of Somer, Elizabeth and others just walking home and getting snatched or lured away!!!!

I have an elementary school at the end of my street. I would happily volunteer to watch over the kids I see walking from 1/2 mile alone, past my house towards the school everyday.

We too, are in a semi-rural area, houses are spread far apart. We also have a bunch of SO's within easy walking distance of this K-6 school.

Today's banner, a huge one.... in bright red and green colors said...

"Walking Home from School, is COOL" :furious:

This Green stuff has gone over the top... sure save the buses a few gallons of gas...but at the cost of a child's LIFE!!!

I'm sure they're are tons of parents who blew a gasket at seeing THAT!

So I am going to dredge up all the News stories and include the SO maps from the area surrounding this school.

Then I am marching in there... straight to the Principal's office asking what in the WORLD is wrong with you people???

I don't think you're asking too much at all. Evidently none of the people involved in the "cool" movement have been watching the news.
