The nature of the case has also meant attention has been focused on sex offenders. One of those men, who worked on a renovation crew months earlier at a house near where Somer was last seen as she walked home, has been interviewed. Another, whose name was on the initial police report after a woman thought she spotted him near Orange Park, was in Texas. When he discovered he had incorrectly been mentioned in the case, he nervously went to authorities there to say he was not near Florida.

OK so if we are to believe a woman thought she spotted CWG near Orange Park...

Then if it wasn't CWG she saw - would DID she see?

There are 2 people I can think of that IMO - at a glance - from a distance - might be mistaken for CWG:
#1) T.T. an RSO in Somer's neighborhood (.9 of a mile from Somers home address)
#2) C.P. that has DT, PC, SP & DT's mom all as contacts on his FB. Actually when Somer first disappeared this guy had her picture as his display but has since changed it to him and DT.

Until/Unless they release it to us there is just no way to know how LE has determined the CWG was IN Texas on the afternoon of the 19th. It's just another of many troubling loose details in this case. Of which there are legion...

And while I'm at it, just why isn't CWG locked up now for failure to notify that he changed his addy? Because he came forward on his own? I mean, the guy absconded to another state!

i just googled Somer and the top result is that they are questioning a registered sex offender who worked at the Gano house! when you click the link it says the articles not ready yet, to check back in about 5 min. his last name is Vinson....

The whole CWG thing on the MPR never made sense, and still doesn't make sense!

As many of us have already asked - who was this woman who "thought" she saw him or recognized him?! Why would she think she recognized him? Does she have the faces and names of EVERY RSO in Florida memorized or plastered on her walls?!

Did it go something like this, "Gee, officer, it might not be important but you just never know, and since I have such a keen photograhic memory and have memorized every photo and name of every RSO in Florida, I distinctly remember seeing CWG at such & such location on such & such day... Maybe he's the one who snatched little Somer on her way home from school."

Good question. Do either of those people look like CWG?

The Dr that DT worked for has two locations and splits time between both. I had my wisdom teeth pulled in the OP office in May of this year. I specifically asked for the OP office, as it was only a few miles from my house.

Well then it makes more sense that she was looking then from 4 to 5

And what's up with that news article saying CWG "nervously" went to authorities in Texas... How do they know he went "nervously"? The article seems to be slanted sympathetically in favor of CWG. Personally, I couldn't care less about CWG's alleged state of anxiety when he went to the authorities in TX!

I think it was Cheewawa that said she worked at the Jax office, she saw her there on a T.V. at that office or something like that.

Top of the evening all... good memory you have there cathdawg. Yes she worked at the oral surgeon's office that I went to. The T.V. part comes in like this...... when I first saw DT on the tv (when somer was missing), I thought to myself she looked so familiar to me. I couldn't place where I had seen her before. THEN, when I read on the police report her place of employment, it clicked - she worked at Dr. Imry's office (Imry & Gessek on Park Street)... she was the one that scheduled my appointments for follow up visits.

I'm glad he was arrested, even if he has nothing to do with Somer's death. Michigan received a tip and acted on it, and he was arrested in Loxahatchee (4 hours/286 miles from OP).

Thanks for the clarification. I also saw a video earlier on that had a few women wearing the DR smocks in front of DT home. If they came from Jacksonville I would think they would have changed first before coming over to the house. But if it is just down the street they would be still wearing the work outfit

you know, now that you put it that way, it does seem a little ridiculous. Makes you wonder if it was someone who knew him, or if LE put his name on the report because one of the officers had dealt with him and knew he lived in the neighborhood. However it happened, I would love for them to release the info that would make me feel confident that this guy really was in Texas on the 19th.

I did notice that the offices DT worked at were open 8-5, M-F and 7:30-2, F. The "Our Staff" section is under construction.

I didn't see anything that indicated either of the offices was ever closed.

LE has not named him as a suspect in this case. What we think does not count.

What I'd like to know about is WLK.
If I rehash, he is there.
He had the perfect storm brewing in his life, he was familiar with the neighborhood, has a brother too close to the school for comfort. There he is.

Why is he still in jail?
Can anyone tell me the procedure once someone is arrested for failing to notify an address change as an RSO.
